DANGER
Since front passenger airbag
triggering and the position
of a rear-facing child seat
are incompatible, it is not
permitted to install such a seat in
this position unless the vehicle is
fitted with an airbag deactivation
device. The child may suffer very
serious injuries if the airbag is
deployed.
The label (on the dashboard) and
the markings (on the sun visor)
remind you of these instructions.
CHILD SAFETY (continued)
Deactivating the front passenger
airbags
(if fitted )
To fit a rear-facing child seat on the
front passenger seat, it is essentialto
deactivate the front passenger seat
additional restraint systems (frontal
and side airbags and lap
pretensioner) and the anti-
submarining airbag (for the three-
door version). To deactivate the airbags:
when the
vehicle is stationary, push and turn
lock 1to the OFF position.
With the ignition on, it is essential
to check that warning light 2,
AIRBAG OFF , is illuminated on the
instrument panel or on centre
display 3 and, depending on the
vehicle, check that the message
“passenger airbag OFF” is
displayed.
This light remains continuously lit
to let you know that you can fit a
child seat.

The passenger airbag
must only be deactivated
or activated when the
vehicle is stationary.
If the lock is moved when the
vehicle is moving, warning lights
åand come on: the
passenger airbag is deactivated.
Switch the ignition off then on
again to reset the airbag in
accordance with the lock.
CHILD SAFETY (continued)
Activating the front passenger
airbags
You should reactivate the airbag as
soon as you remove the child seat
from the front passenger seat, to
ensure the protection of the front
passenger in the event of an impact. Operating faults
It is forbidden to fit a rear-facing
child seat to the front passenger seat
if the airbag activation/deactivation
system is faulty.
Allowing any other passenger to sit
in that seat is not recommended.
Consult your RENAULT Dealer as
soon as possible.
To reactivate the airbags:
push and
turn lock 1to the ON position.
After switching on the ignition
again, check that the
ãwarning
light is off.
The means of restraint which are
additional to the front passenger
seat belt and anti-slide airbag (for
the three-door version) are
activated.

STOPPING THE ENGINE
If the card is no longer in the card
detection zone, after pressing once,
the messages “confirm engine stop”
and “press STOP twice” appear on
the instrument panel.
To confirm that you want the engine
to switch off, press button 3twice
more.
Conditions for stopping the
engine
- vehicle stationary;
- lever in position Nor Pfor vehicles
with automatic transmission;
- press button 3;
With the engine switched off, the
accessories currently being used
(radio, heating and ventilation, etc.)
will continue to function for about
20 minutes.
When the driver’s door is opened,
the accessories stop working. Remote control RENAULT card
With the card in reader
2, one press
on the engine Start/Stop button
switches the engine off. Removing
the card from the reader locks the
steering column (check that it has
locked).
If the card is no longer in the reader,
after pressing once, the messages
“Confirm engine stop” and “Press
STOP twice” appear on the
instrument panel.
To confirm that you want the engine
to switch off, press button 3twice

RENAULT card in hands-free mode
With the card in the vehicle,
pressing the engine Start/Stop
button 3cuts out the engine and
locks the steering column (check
that it locks correctly).
2.05
Never leave your vehicle with the RENAULT card
inside and never leave a
child (or a pet)
unsupervised.
There is a risk that they could
start the engine or operate
electrical equipment (electric
windows) and trap part of their
body (neck, arms, hands, etc.).
Risk of serious injury.
Never switch off the ignition
before the vehicle has stopped
completely. Once the engine has
stopped, the brake servo, power
assisted steering, etc. and the
passive safety devices such as
airbags and pretensioners will no
longer operate.

PARKING PROXIMITY SENSOR
Operating faults
When the system detects an
operating fault there will be a 5
second continuous beep as a warning
when reverse gear is selected.
Contact your RENAULT Dealer.
Operating principle
Ultrasonic sensors located in the
rear bumper measure the distance
between the vehicle and an obstacle
when reversing.
This measurement is indicated by
beeps which become more frequent
the closer you are to the obstacle,
until they become one continuous
beep when the obstacle is
approximately
25 centimetres from the vehicle.
Note:make sure that the ultrasonic
sensors are not blocked (dirt, mud,
snow, etc.). This function is an
additional aid that indicates
the distance between the
vehicle and an obstacle
whilst reversing, using sound
signals.
Under no circumstances should it
replace the driver’s care or
responsibility whilst reversing.
The driver should always pay
attention to sudden incidents
during driving: always ensure that
there are no moving obstacles (such
as a child, animal, pram or bicycle,
etc.) or small, narrow objects such
as stones or posts in your path
when manoeuvring.

the sunroof closed:
- opening the sliding sun blind:
push handle 1then guide the
sliding sun blind back to the
inertia reel;
- closing the sunblind: pull using
handle 1until the lock clicks into
place.
Tilting the sunroof
- opening: open the sunblind then
turn button 2to position A;
- closing: turn button 2to position 0.
Sliding the sunroof
- opening: close the sunblind, then
place button 2in position B, C or
D , depending on the amount of
opening required;
- closing: turn button 2to position 0. - never operate the sunroof with
the sunblind closed;
- never drive with the roof open and the sunblind closed.
Driver’s responsibility
Never leave your vehicle
without removing the
RENAULT card from inside
and never leave a child (or a pet)
inside. He/she may be able to
operate the electric sunroof and
there is a risk of trapping his/her
neck, arm, hand, etc.), which could
cause serious injuries.
If something gets trapped, reverse
the direction of travel as soon as
possible by turning knob 2 fully to
the right (position D).
