Warning Lamps and Message Center
a|ABS Warning Lamp In an emergency, apply continuous force to the brake pedal. Do not pumpthe brakes. Any pulsation or mechanical noise you may feel or hear is normal. If the light doesn’t illuminateor stays on, have your vehicle serviced. Normal braking is still functional unless the brake warning light
is also illuminated.
b|Speed Control Lamp The speed control lamp will Illuminate when the speed control is
engaged. It will turn off when the speed control system is disengaged. The controls for the speedcontrol are located on the steering wheel. Press and release the ON and OFF buttons to engage and
disengage the system. Speed control does not work at speeds below 30 mph (48 km/h). For moreinformation, please consult your Owner’s Guide.
c|Check Engine Lamp The Check Engine indicator lamp illuminates when the ignition is first
turned to the ON position to check the bulb. If the light turns solid or blinks, the On Board DiagnosticsSystem has detected a malfunction. Drive in a moderate fashion (avoid heavy acceleration or
deceleration) and have your vehicle serviced immediately.
d|Brake System Warning LampTo confirm the brake system warning light is functional, it
will momentarily illuminate when the ignition is turned to the ON position when the engine is not
running, or in a position between ON and START, or by applying the parking brake when the ignition isturned to the ON position. If the brake system warning light does not illuminate at this time, seek
service immediately from your dealership. Illumination after releasing the parking brake indicates low
brake fluid level and the brake system should be inspected immediately by your servicing dealership.
e|Message CenterWith the ignition in the ON position, the message center displays important
vehicle information by constantly monitoring vehicle systems. You may select display features on themessage center for a display of status. The system will also notify you of potential vehicle problems
with a display of system warnings. For more information, please consult your Owner’s Guide.
Throttle Control / Transmission LampThe Throttle Control/Transmission lamp illuminates
when a powertrain fault has been detected. Contact your dealer as soon as possible.
Engine Coolant Lamp The Engine Coolant lamp illuminates when the engine coolant is low.
Stop the vehicle as soon as safely possible and let the engine cool.
one|Tune/Disc SelectorPress to go up or down
the radio frequency or to select a desired disc.Also use in menu mode to select various settings.
two|LoadPress to begin the CD load
sequence. Press and hold to autoload up to6 CDs.
three|CDPress to enter CD mode. If a CD is
already loaded into the system, the CD willbegin playing where it last ended.
four|On/Off/Volume Control Push to turn
the system ON or OFF. Turn to increase ordecrease volume. If the volume is set above acertain level and the ignition is turned off, the
volume will come back on at a “nominal” levelwhen the ignition switch is turned back on.
five|AM / FMPress to select AM or FM
frequency bands.
six|Seek Function Press to access the
next/previous strong station or track.
seven|Scan FunctionPress for a brief
sampling of radio stations or CD tracks. Pressagain to stop.
eight|CD RewindPress to manually reverse in
a CD track.
nine|CD Fast Forward Press to manually
advance in a CD track.
ten|Setting Memory Preset To set a station:
Press AM/FM to select frequency band; tune toa station, then press and hold a preset buttonuntil the sound returns.
Bass / TreblePress MENU until bass or treble
settings are displayed, adjust using theSEEK control.
Balance / Fade Press MENU until Balance is
displayed, press to adjust the audio betweenthe left and right speakers using the SEEK
control. Press MENU again to display Fade,
press SEEK to adjust audio between the frontand rear speakers.
Setting The Clock Press MENU until SELECT
HOUR or SELECT MINS is displayed. Press the
up/down arrows or SEEK control to adjust the
hours/minutes. Press MENU again todisengage clock mode.
MP3 Track/Folder Mode In Track mode, pressing
SEEK will scroll through all tracks on the disc.
In Folder mode, pressing SEEK will scroll only
through tracks within a selected folder.
