dust may cause skin irritation and should not be breathed for pro-longed periods. Wash your hands and face thoroughly after an acci- dent in which the pre-tensionerseat belts were activated. it illuminates whilst the vehicle is being driven, please have a Hyundai authorised repairer in-spect the pre-tensioner seat belt or SRS airbag system as soon as possible.
CAUTION:
o Because the sensor that activates the SRS airbag is connected with the pre-tensioner seat belt, the SRS airbag warning light on theinstrument panel will blink for approximately 6 seconds after the ignition key has been turned to the "ON" position and then it should turn off.
o If the pre-tensioner seat belt is not working properly, this warninglight will illuminate even if there isno function of the SRS airbag sys- tem. If the SRS airbag warning lightdoes not illuminate when the igni- tion key is turned to "ON", or if it remains illuminated after blinkingfor approximately 6 seconds, or if WARNING:
o Pre-tensioners are designed to op- erate only one time. After activa-tion, pre-tensioner seat belts mustbe replaced. All seat belts, of any type, should always be replaced after they have been worn during acollision.
o The pre-tensioner seat belt assem-
bly mechanisms become hot dur-ing activation. Do not touch the pre-tensioner seat belt assemblies for several minutes after they havebeen activated.
o Do not attempt to inspect or re-
place the pre-tensioner seat beltsyourself. This must be done by a Hyundai authorised repairer.
o Do not strike the pre-tensioner seat
belt assemblies.

!WARNING:
To obtain maximum benefit from a pre-tensioner seat belt:
1. The seat belt must be worn cor- rectly.
2. The seat belt must be adjusted to the correct position.
NOTE:
o Both the driver's and front passenger's pre-tensioner seat belts will be activated in certainfrontal collisions. The pre- tensioner seat belts can be acti- vated with the airbags. The pre-tensioners will be activated under these conditions even if the seat belts are not being worn at thetime of the collision.
o When the pre-tensioner seat belts
are activated, a loud noise may beheard and fine dust, which may appear to be smoke, may be vis- ible in the passenger compart-ment. These are normal operating conditions and are not hazard- ous.

Driver's Airbag
Your Hyundai is equipped with a Supple- mental Restraint (Airbag) System. The indications of the system's presenceare the letters "SRS AIR BAG" em- bossed on the airbag pad cover in the steering wheel and printed on thepassenger's side front panel pad above the glove box. The Hyundai SRS consists of airbags installed under the pad covers in the centre of the steering wheel and thepassenger's side front panel above the glove box. Therefore your seat belts must be worn at all timeswhile the vehicle is in motion. In addition, the airbags deploy only in certain frontal impact condi-tions severe enough to likely cause significant injury to the vehicle occupants.
o Do not attempt to service or re-pairer the pre-tensioner seat belt system in any manner.
o Improper handling of the pre-
tensioner seat belt assemblies, andfailure to heed the warnings to not strike, modify, inspect, replace, service or repairer the pre-tensioner seat belt assemblies may lead to improper operation or in- advertent activation and seriousinjury.
o Always wear the seat belts when
driving or travelling in a motorvehicle.

o For maximum safety protection in
all types of crashes, all occupants including the driver should always wear their seat belts whether ornot an airbag is also provided at their seating position to minimize the risk of severe injury or death inthe event of a crash. Do not sit or lean unnecessarily close to the airbag while the vehicle is in mo-tion.
o The SRS airbag system must de-
ploy very rapidly to provide pro-tection in a crash. If an occupant is out of position because of not wearing a seat belt, the airbag mayforcefully contact the occupant causing serious or fatal injuries.
The SRS consists of the following com- ponents:
- Driver's Airbag Module
- Passenger's Airbag Module
- SRS Service Reminder Indicator (SRI)

Side Impact Rollover
o The SRS is designed to deploy the
airbags only when an impact is sufficiently severe and when theimpact angle is less than 30° from the forward longitudinal axis of the vehicle and will not deploy inside, rear or rollover impacts. Additionally, the airbags will only deploy once. Thus, seat belts mustbe worn at all times.
o Front airbags are not intended to deploy in side-impact, rear-impactor rollover crashes. In addition, airbags will not normally deploy in frontal crashes below the de-ployment threshold speed.

The airbag modules are located both in the centre of the steering wheel and in the front passenger's panel above the glove box. When the SRSCM detects aconsiderable impact to the front of the vehicle, it will automatically deploy the airbags.
Passenger's Airbag

Upon deployment, tear seams molded directly into the pad covers will sepa- rate under pressure from the expansion of the airbags. Further opening of thecovers then allows full inflation of the airbags. A fully inflated airbag in combination with a properly worn seat belt slows the driver's or the passenger's forward mo-tion, thus reducing the risk of head or chest injury.
The SRS service reminder indicator (SRI) on the instrument panel will blinkfor about 6 seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position or after the engine is started, after whichthe SRI should go out.

Side airbag sensor
WARNING:
o The side impact airbag is supple- mental to the driver's and the passenger's three point seat beltsystems and is not a substitute for them. Therefore your seat belts must be worn at all times whilstthe vehicle is in motion. o For best protection from the side
airbag system and to avoid being injured is by the deploying side impact airbag, both front seat oc-cupants should sit in an upright position with the seat belt prop- erly fastened. The driver's handsshould be placed on the steering wheel at the 9:00 and 3:00 o'clock positions. The passenger's armsand hands should be placed in their laps.
o Do not use any accessory seat covers.
o Use of seat covers could reduce or
prevent the effectiveness of the system.
o Do not install any accessories on
the side or near the side impactairbag.
o Do not use excessive force on the
side of the seat.
o Do not place any objects over the airbag or between the airbag andyourself.

The purpose of the airbag is to provide the vehicle's driver and/or the front passen-ger with additional protection than that offered by the seat belt alone. The side impact airbags are designed to deployonly during certain side impact colli- sions, depending on the crash severity, angle, speed and point of impact. Theair bags are not designed to deploy in all side impact situations.

CHARGING SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT
The charging system warning light should illuminate when the ignitionswitch is turned to the "ON" position and should be extinguished when the engine is started. If the light fails toilluminate when the ignition is turned "ON" or fails to extinguish after starting the engine, the nearest Hyundaiauthorised repairer should be contacted. DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT
The door ajar warning light indicates that a door is not correctly closed. Ensure that the light is extinguishedprior to driving the vehicle.

TAIL GATE OPEN WARNING LIGHT
The tail gate warning light indicates when the tail gate is open or is not fullyclosed. Ensure that the light has extin- guished prior to driving the vehicle. SB210P1-E
LOW FUEL LEVEL WARNING LIGHT
The low fuel warning light serves to warn the driver that the remaining fuel quantity is approximately 9 litres and that the vehicle should be refuelled. Ifthe vehicle is driven for an extended period with the low fuel warning light illuminated there exists a possibilitythat misfiring due to fuel shortage may occur. This situation must be avoided to prevent damage to the catalyst oc-curring.
