The SRS service reminder indicator (SRI) on the instrument panel will comeon for about 6 seconds after the igni- tion key is turned to the "ON" position or after the engine is started, afterwhich the SRI should go out. The airbag modules are located both in the center of the steering wheel and in the front passenger's panel above the glove box. When the SRSCM detects aconsiderable impact to the front of the vehicle, it will automatically deploy the airbags. B240B02LPassenger's Airbag
Upon deployment, tear seams molded directly into the pad covers will sepa-rate under pressure from the expan- sion of the airbags. Further opening of the covers then allows full inflation ofthe airbags. A fully inflated airbag in combination with a properly worn seat belt slows the driver's or the passenger's forward motion, thus reducing the risk of headand chest injury. When driv- ing in severe winter conditions where this may happen, you should periodi-cally check underneath the car to be sure the movement of the front wheels and the steering components is notobstructed. Some of the items youmay want to carry include tire chains, tow straps or chains, flashlight, emer- gency flares, sand, a shovel, jumpercables, a window scraper, gloves, ground cloth, coveralls, a blanket, etc. C170A01A-AAT Pre-Trip Inspections 1. Tires: Adjust the tire inflation pressures to specification. Low tire inflation pres-sures will result in overheating and possible failure of the tires. Avoid using worn or damaged tireswhich may result in reduced traction or tire failure. NOTE: Never exceed the maximum tire in- flation pressure shown on the tires. 2. Fuel, engine coolant and en-
gine oil:
High speed travel consumes more fuel than urban motoring. Do not forget tocheck both engine coolant and engine oil. 3. Drive belt: A loose or damaged drive belt may result in overheating of the engine. C180A01A-AAT Check your lights regularly for correct operation and always keep them clean. When driving during the day in condi- tions of poor visibility, it is helpful todrive with headlights on low beam. This enables you to be seen as well as to see.

Do not remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. This can allow coolant to be blown out of the open- ing and cause serious burns.
6. If you cannot find the cause of the overheating, wait until the engine temperature has returned to nor- mal. Then, if the engine coolant has been lost, carefully add coolant tothe reservoir (page 6-11) to bring the fluid level in the reservoir up to the halfway mark.
7. Proceed with caution, keeping alert for further signs of overheating. Ifoverheating happens again, call aHyundai dealer for assistance.
CAUTION:
Serious loss of engine coolant indi-cates there is a leak in the cooling system and this should be checked as soon as possible by a Hyundaidealer. D040A01GK-GAT The following instructions for the tem- porary spare tire should be observed:
1. Check inflation pressure as soon as
practical after installing the spare tire, and adjust to the specified pres- sure. The tire pressure should beperiodically checked and maintained at the specified pressure while the tire is stored.

Hyundai are chosen to provide the best performance for normal driving. I030A02GK-AAT RECOMMENDED INFLATION PRESSURES The tire label located on the driver's side of the center pillar outer panel gives the tire pressures recommended for your vehicle. These pressures were chosen to pro-
vide the most satisfactory combina-tion of ride comfort, tire wear and stability under normal conditions. Tire pressures should be checked at leastmonthly. Proper tire inflation pres- sures should be maintained for these reasons:
o Lower-than-recommended tire pressures cause uneven tread wear and poor handling.
o Higher-than-recommended tire
pressures increase the chance ofdamage from impacts and cause uneven tread wear.

Whilst the engine is running, keep hands and clothing away from mov- ing parts such as the fan and drive belts to prevent injury.
5. If the water pump drive belt is broken or coolant is leaking out, stop the engine immediately and call the near- est Hyundai authorised repairer forassistance.
WARNING:
Do not remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot since steam and boiling water may be ejected fromthe radiator resulting in burns or scalding.

6. If the cause of the overheating can- not be found, wait until the engine temperature has returned to normal. Then, if coolant has been lost, care- fully add coolant to the reservoir(page 6-11) to bring the fluid level in the reservoir up to the base of the radiator fill opening. Fill the coolantexpansion tank to the halfway mark. To ensure the correct water to cool- ant mix is obtained after top up,testing by an authorised repairer is required.
7. Proceed with caution until it is estab- lished that the engine is operatingnormally. If the engine overheats repeatedly, the advice of a Hyundaiauthorised repairer should be sought.
