During a crash, the
belt could press deep into the child
and cause serious or fatal injuries.
If they do, they
could be very seriously injured in a
crash. If you are not wearing a
seat belt in crash, you could be
thrown f orward and crush the
child against the dashboard or a
seat-back. If you are wearing a
seat belt, the child can be torn
from your arms and be seriously
hurt or killed. This can prevent children
f rom accidentally f alling out (see
page ).
Leaving children without
adult supervision is illegal in most
states and Canadian provinces,
and can be very hazardous.
For example, infants and small
childrenleftinavehicleonahot
day can die f rom heatstroke. A
child lef t alone with the key in the
ignition can accidentally set the
vehicle in motion, possibly injuring
themselves or others. Children who play in vehicles can
accidentally get trapped inside.
Teach your children not to play in
or around vehicles.
Even very young
children learn how to unlock
vehicle doors, turn on the ignition
switch, and open the trunk, which
can lead to accidental injury or
death.

when your vehicle is not in use.
K eep vehicle keys and remot etransmitters out of the reach ofchildren.

The lef t or right turn signal indicator
blinks when you signal a lane change
or turn. If the indicators do not blink
or blink rapidly, it usually means one
of the turn signal bulbs is burned out
(see page ). Replace the bulb as
soon as possible, since other drivers
cannot see that you are signaling.If a brake light does not work, the
indicator comes on
when you push the brake pedal with
the ignition switch in the ON (II)
position.
A burned out brake light is a hazard
when drivers behind you cannot tell
you are braking. Have your brake
lights repaired right away. All the indicators in the monitor
come on f or a f ew seconds when you
turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
When you push the Hazard Warning
button, both turn signal indicators
blink. All turn signals on the outside
of the vehicle should f lash. The appropriate indicator comes on
in this monitor if the trunk or either
door is not closed tightly.

Theheadlightswereproperlyaimed
when your vehicle was new. If you
regularly carry heavy items in the
trunk, readjustment may be required.
Adjustments should be perf ormed by
your dealer or other qualif ied
mechanic.
Your vehicle has halogen headlight
bulbs. Handle a bulb by its steel base,
and protect the glass from contact
with your skin or hard objects. If you
touch the glass, clean it with
denaturedalcoholandacleancloth.Remove the electrical connector
f rom the bulb by pulling the
connector straight back.
Remove the rubber weather seal
by pulling on the tab.Unclip the end of the hold-down
wire f rom its slot. Pivot it out of
the way, and remove the bulb.
Insert the new bulb and make sure
it is right side up. The tabs on the
base f it into the indentations in the
headlight assembly. Pivot the hold-
down wire back in place, and clip
the end into the slot.
Reinstall the rubber seal and make
sure one of its arrow is pointing up.
Push the electrical connector onto
the new bulb.

scratch on the glass can cause the bulb
to overheat and shatter.
