Youshouldhavereceivedakey
number tag with your keys. You will
need this key number if you ever
have to get a lost key replaced. Use
only Honda-approved key blanks.
These keys contain electronic
circuits that are activated by the
Immobilizer System. They will not
work to start the engine if the
circuits are damaged.Protect the keys f rom direct
sunlight, high temperature, and
high humidity. Donotdropthekeysorsetheavy
objects on them.
Keep the keys away f rom liquids.
If they get wet, dry them
immediately with a sof t cloth.
The DX model keys do not contain
batteries. Do not try to take them
apart.
The master key fits all the locks on
your vehicle. The valet key works
only in the ignition and the door
locks. You can keep the trunk
release handle, rear seat trunk
access, and glove box locked when
you leave your vehicle and the valet
key at a parking f acility.

You can open and close all power
windows from outside the vehicle
with the key. With the remote
transmitter, you can open the
windows. Refer to Power Windows
on page .
Press this button once to
lock all doors. Some exterior and
interior lights will f lash. You cannot
lock it if any door is not f ully closed
or key is in the ignition switch.
When you push LOCK twice within 5
seconds, you will hear a beep to
verify that the security system has
set. The ceiling light (if the ceiling light
switch is in the center position) will
come on when you press the
UNLOCK button. If you do not open
any door, the light stays on f or about
30 seconds, then f ades out. If you
relock the doors with the remote
transmitter before 30 seconds have
elapsed, the light will go of f
immediately.
Pressthisbuttononce
to unlock the driver’s door. Push it
twice to unlock the other doors.
The childproof door locks are
designed to prevent children seated
in the rear f rom accidentally opening
the rear doors. Each rear door has a
lock lever near the edge. With the
lever in the LOCK position, the door
cannot be opened f rom the inside
regardless of the position of the lock
tab. To open the door, pull the lock
tab up and use the outside door

You cannot lock the doors with the
remote transmitter if any door is not
f ully closed or the key is in the
ignition switch.
Avoid dropping or throwing the
transmitter.
Protect the transmitter from
extreme temperature.
Do not immerse the transmitter in
any liquid.
If you lose a transmitter, the
replacement needs to be
reprogrammed by your dealer.
If you unlock the doors with the
remote transmitter, but do not open
any of the doors within 30 seconds,
the doors automatically relock. On
the EX model, the security system
will also set.
To open the trunk, push the Trunk
Release button f or about 1 second.
The trunk will not open if the key is
in the ignition switch. Pressthisbuttonfor
about 1 second to attract attention;
thehornwillsoundandtheexterior
lights will f lash f or about 30 seconds.
To cancel panic mode, press any
other button on the remote
transmitter, or turn the ignition
switch to ON (II).
Pressthisbuttonfor
about 1 second to open the trunk.
You cannot open the trunk if the key
is in the ignition switch.

To close the trunk, press down on
the trunk lid.
See page f or cargo loading and
weight limit inf ormation. Keep the
trunk lid closed at all times while
driving to avoid damaging the lid,
and to prevent exhaust gas from
getting into the interior. Seeon page . To protect items in the trunk when
you need to give the key to someone
else:
Give the person the valet key.
Youcanopenthetrunkinanyof
three ways:
Pull up on the trunk release lever
located to the lef t of the driver’s
seat.
Press and hold the trunk release
button on the remote transmitter.
Usethemasterkeytoopenthe
trunk lock. The valet key does not
work in this lock. Lockthetrunkreleaseleverwith
the master key. Also make sure
the trunk pass-through cover is
locked (see page ).

the trunk can be opened f rom the
inside.To open the trunk, push the release
lever to the lef t.

Theyaremosteffectivewhenyou
adjust them so the back of the
occupant’s head rests against the
center of the restraint.
The f ront and rear head restraints
adjust f or height. You need both
hands to adjust the restraint. Do not
attempt to adjust it while driving. To
raise it, pull upward. To lower the
restraint, push the release button
and push the restraint down.The back of the rear seat folds down,
giving you direct access to the trunk.
The seat-back can be released f rom
inside the vehicle or inside the trunk.When storing cargo, you can move
therearcentershoulderbeltoutof
the way by removing the belt f rom
the guide.
To fold down the seat-back from
inside the vehicle, insert the master
keyinthelockontherearshelf.
Turn the key clockwise, pull down
the top of the seat-back, then release
the key.
