Keyless Lock Acknowledgment
Door Lock Mode
If you unlock the doors by pressing
the button on the remote, you can
select whether the driver’s door
unlocks or all the doors unlock.
Select the desired mode by pressing
the or button, and enter your
selection by pressing the SEL/
RESET button.
The conf irmation screen is shown
f or 2 seconds, then the CUSTOMIZE
ENTRY screen returns. To exit this mode without changing
the current settings, select EXIT,
and press the SEL/RESET button.
When you press the LOCK button
on the remote a second time within 5
seconds after you lock the doors, the
hood, and the trunk with the remote,
a beeper will sound and the exterior
lights will blink once to verif y that
the doors are locked and the security
system is ready.

(II) position, press the INFO button
f or more than 3 seconds, then
release it. The CUSTOMIZE ENTRY
screen appears on the multi-

Select CHG SETTING, and press the

SEL/RESET button, the
CUSTOMIZE GROUP screen is
shown again. You can customize the WIPER

µThe automatic lighting f eature is

of the dashboard. Do not cover this
sensor or spill liquids on it.
Even with the automatic lighting
f eature turned on, we recommend
thatyouturnonthelightsmanually
when driving at night or in a dense
f og, or when you enter dark areas
such as long tunnels or parking
structures.
To turn on automatic lighting, turn
the light switch to AUTO at any time.
The lights will come on automatically
when the outside light level becomes
low (at dusk, f or example). The
lights on indicator comes on as a
reminder. The lights and indicator
will turn of f automatically when the
system senses high ambient light. To change the ‘‘AUTO LIGHT
SENSITIVITY’’ setting, see page .
Do not leave the light switch in
AUTO if you will not be driving the
vehicle f or an extended period (a
weekormore).Youshouldalsoturn
of f the lights if you plan to leave the
engine idling or of f f or a long time.
The automatic lighting
f eature turns on the headlights, all
other exterior lights, and the
instrument panel lights when it
senses low ambient light.
The lights will remain on when you
turn of f the ignition switch. They will
turn of f automatically when you open
and close the driver’s door. To turn
them on again, either turn the
ignition switch to ON (II) or turn the
light switch to . 93

headlight switch.
You can use the f og lights only when
the headlights are on low beam.
The headlights revert to normal
operation when you turn them on
with the switch. With the light switch in the AUTO
position, you can also use the f og
lights when the headlights turn on
automatically. They will go of f when
the headlights turn of f .
With the headlight switch off, the
high beam headlights come on with
reduced brightness when you turn
the ignition switch to ON (II) and
release the parking brake. They
remain on until you turn the ignition
switch of f , even if you set the
parking brake.This f eature turns of f the headlights,
all other exterior lights, and the
instrument panel lights within 15
seconds after you turn the ignition
switch to LOCK (0) and close the
driver’s door.
To change the ‘‘HEADLIGHT AUTO
OFF TIMER’’ setting, see page . If you see a ‘‘CHECK DRL
SYSTEM’’ message on the multi-
inf ormation display, there is a
problem with the daytime running
light system. Take your vehicle to a
dealer to have it checked.
When the multi-information display
shows a ‘‘DRL OFF’’ message, the
daytime running lights are of f .
Follow the procedure in the lef t
column to turn them on.The automatic lighting of f f eature
activates if you leave the headlight
switch in the ‘‘ ’’ or ‘‘ ’’
position or if the lights are turned on
by setting the switch in the ‘‘AUTO’’
position, turn the ignition switch to
LOCK (0), then open and close the
driver’s door.
If you turn the ignition switch to
LOCK (0) with the headlight switch
on, but do not open the door and get
out, the lights turn off after 10
minutes (3 minutes, if the switch is
in the ‘‘AUTO’’ position).
The lights turn on again when you
unlock or open the driver’s door.
If you unlock the door, but do not
open it within 15 seconds, the lights
go of f . With the driver’s door open,
you will hear a lights-on reminder
chime.

Each door has a lock tab above the
inside door handle. Pull the tab to
lock the door and push it to unlock.
Whenyoupullthetabonthedriver’s
door, all the doors lock.To lock any door when getting out of
the vehicle, pull the lock tab and
close the door.
All doors can be locked f rom the
outside by using the built-in key in
the driver’s door. To unlock only the
driver’s door, insert the built-in key,
turn it clockwise, and release it. The
remaining doors unlock when you
turn the built-in key a second time
within a f ew seconds.
Each f ront door has a power door
lock master switch. Either switch
locks and unlocks all doors. Push the
switch down to lock all doors and up
to unlock them. To change the ‘‘DOOR UNLOCK
MODE’’ setting, see page .
When the vehicle speed reaches
about 10 mph (about 15 km/h) or
more, all the doors lock
automatically.

LOCK’’ setting, see page .When you shif t to P af ter driving, the
driver’s door unlocks.

With the driver’s door open and the
built-in key in the ignition, both
master door lock switches are
disabled. They are not disabled if the
driver’s door is closed. Pushing the
switch down on the open f ront
passenger’s door will lock all doors.
If you try to lock an open driver’s
door by pulling the lock tab rear
wardwiththeremoteinsidethe
vehicle and closing the driver’s door,
the all doors will unlock.

You cannot lock the doors if any
door, the trunk, or the hood is not
f ully closed if the built-in key is in
the ignition switch, or if the ignition
switch is in any position except the
LOCK (0) position.
Press this button once
to unlock the driver’s door. Press it
twice to unlock the other doors.
Some exterior lights will f lash twice
each time you press the button. The
ceiling light (if the ceiling light
switch is in the DOOR position) will
come on when you press the
UNLOCK button. If you do not open
anydoorswithin30seconds,the
ceiling light f ades out. If you relock
the doors with the remote before 30
seconds have elapsed, the ceiling
light will go of f immediately.
If you unlock the doors with the
remote, but do not open any doors
within 30 seconds, the doors
automatically relock and the security
system sets. To change the ‘‘INTERIOR LIGHT

When you cannot set the security
system because the trunk or hood is
