Opening and closing
The locking button is on the right-hand
side of the hand lestrip above the licence
plate recess.
1 Locking button
6 Press button 1.
The vehicle is centrally locked.
The locking knobs in the doors drop
down. The turn signal sflash three
times. The anti-theft alarm system* is
primed. Individual settings
If you frequently travel alone, you may
wish
to change how the KEYLESS GO key func-
tions. Only the following are unlocked with
this setting when the driver's door handle
is grasped:
! The driver's door
! The fuel fi ller flap
1 Battery check lamp
2 ‹ Locking button
3 ΠUnlock ing butt on 6
Press and hol d both theŒand‹
buttons simultaneously for approxi-
mately si xseconds until battery check
lamp 1flashes twice.
The KEYLESS GO key then functions as
fo llows:

senger side.

i If you open a door, the windows on this side
lower slightly. If you close the door, the windows

The boot lid swings upwards. For this rea-
son, make sure that there is sufficient clearance
abov ethe boot lid.
i It is only possible to op enthe boot if it is

You can unlock the boot using the key and
then open it manual

i It is only possible to unlock the boot when

You can limit the opening angle of the boot
lid on
vehicles with the remote boot clos-
ing feature*. The boot lid will then only
open as far as the height of the roof. This
can be use fulif there is insufficient clear-
ance above the boot lid, for example.
6 Make sure that the boot lid is closed.
6 Press and hold the boot button on the
driver's door for at least five seconds.
The opening limiter is switched on or

the same time from the driver's seat.
The boot lid button is on the lower section
of the driver's door.

The indicator lamp lights up. It remains
lit until you close the boot again. Closing autom

seat on veh icles with the remote boot clos-
ing feature*.
The boot lid buttons are on the lower sec-
tion of the driv er's door.

Closing automatically from the outside*
You can close an open boot from the out-
side on vehicles with the remote boot clos-
ing feature*. You are then able to centrally
lock the vehicle if it is equipped with
KEYLESS GO* (
=page 82).
i Do not leave the key in the boot. You could
otherwise be locked out.

The closing button is on the inside of the
boot lid on the right-hand side.

The boot will relock automatically if the vehi-
cl e was previously locked centrally.
i If the boot lid makes contact wi than object
in its upper range of movement whe nclosing,
e. g. luggage piled too high, the closing proce-
dure is halted and the boot lid reop ensto its ini-
tial posi tion.
Automatic closing and locking with
KEYLESS GO*
On vehicles KEYLESS GO*, there are two
separate buttons in the boot lid for:
! closing the boot only
! closing the boot and centrally locking
the vehicle at the same time

To close the boot:
6 Press closing button 1.
To close the boot and centrally lock the
vehicle:
6 Press KEYLESS GO button 2.
i The boo tlid reopens after clo sing if the
KEYLE SSGO key is in the vehicle. The vehicle is
locked automatically once
you have pul led away.
You can open a door from the inside at any
time, even if it has been locked.
i The doors unlock automa tically in an acci-
dent ifthe force ofthe impact exceeds a prede-
termined leve l.
The vehicle is locked automatically once the igni-
tion is switched on and the wheels begin toturn.
There is there fore a risk of being locked out
when the vehicle is being pushe dor when the
vehi cle is on a dynamometer.

i Vehicle models with xenon hea dlamps *do
not feature this thumbwheel, as the headlamp
range is adjusted automatically.
You can only adjust the headlamp range
while the engine is running.
The thumbwheel is located on the dash-
board between the steeri ngwheel and the
driver's door.

The duration of the delay period can be set
