42CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEM
!
B230A03A-GAT (Minibus/Van) (If installed) Children riding in the car should sit in the rear seat and must always berestrained to minimize the risk of injury in an accident, sudden stop or sudden maneuver. According to accident sta-tistics, children are safer when prop- erly restrained in the rear seats than in the front seat. Larger children shoulduse one of the seat belts provided. You are required by law to use safety restraints for children. If small childrenride in your vehicle you must put them in a child restraint system (safety seat). Children could be injured in a crash iftheir restraints are not properly se- cured. For small children and babies, a child seat or infant seat must be used. Before buying a particular child re- straint system, make sure it fits your car seat and seat belts, and fits yourchild. Follow all the instructions pro- vided by the manufacturer when in- stalling the child restraint system. WARNING:
o A child restraint system must be placed in the rear seat. Neverinstall a child or infant seat onthe front passenger's seat. Should an accident occur and cause the passenger side airbagto deploy, it could severely in- jure or kill an infant or child seated in an infant or child seat. Thus, only use a child restraint in the rear seat of your vehicle.
o Since a safety belt or child re- straint system can become veryhot if it is left in a closed vehicle, be sure to check the seat coverand buckles before placing a child there.
o When the child restraint system is not in use, fasten it with asafety belt so that it will not be thrown forward in the case of asudden stop or an accident.
!
NOTE:
o When the pre-tensioner seat beltis activated, there may be an ex- plosion noise. This noise is nor-mal and is not hazardous.
o Pre-tensioner seat belt is de-
signed to operate only when asufficiently severe impact occurs and it will be only operated once.
WARNING:
If the pre-tensioner seat belt was activated, never attempt to replace it by yourself. It must be replaced by an authorized Hyundai Dealer.

B230G01P-GAT Installation on Outboard Rear Seats To install a child restraint system in the outboard rear seats, extend the shoul- der/lap belt from its retractor. Install the child restraint system, buckle theseat belt and allow the seat belt to take up any slack. Make sure that the lap portion of the belt is tight around thechild restraint system and the shoulder portion of the belt is positioned so that it cannot interfere with the child's heador neck. After installation of the child restraint system, try to move it in all directions to be sure the child restraintsystem is securely installed. If you need to tighten the belt, pullmore webbing toward the retractor. When you unbuckle the seat belt and allow it to retract, the retractor will automatically revert back to its normalseated passenger emergency locking usage condition. NOTE:
o Before installing the child re-
straint system, read the instruc- tions supplied by the child re- straint system manufacturer.
o If the seat belt does not operate as described, have the systemchecked immediately by yourauthorized Hyundai dealer.
WARNING:
Do not install any child restraintsystem in the front passenger seat.Should an accident occur and cause the passenger side airbag to de- ploy, it could severely injure or killan infant or child seated in an infant or child seat. Therefore, install a child restraint system only in therear seat of your vehicle.
B230G01L-1
Use the center seat belt for the rearseat to secure the child restraint sys-tem as illustrated. After installation of the child restraint system, rock the child seat back and forth, and side toside to ensure that it is properly se- cured by the seat belt. If the child seat moves, readjust thelength of the seat belt. Always refer to the child restraint system manufacturer's recommendation be-fore installing the child restraint sys- tem in your vehicle.

Window glass
The window glass can normally be cleaned using only a sponge and wa- ter. Glass cleaner can be used to remove oil, grease, dead insects, etc. After washing the glass, wipe dry with aclean, dry, soft cloth.Never use the same cloth to wipe thewindow glass as would be used towipe the paintwork; wax from the painted surfaces could adhere to the glass and reduce its transparency andvisibility. F010H01P-GAT
Wiper blades
Use a soft cloth and glass cleaner to remove grease, dead insects, etc., from the wiper blades. Replace thewiper blades when they no longer wipe properly. F010I01P-GAT
Chassis and underbody protec- tion
Your vehicle’s underbody has been
treated at the factory in order to pro- tect it from rust and corrosion. Some areas have been injected with anti-corrosion agents and wax. The effectiveness of these measures,
however, will be reduced by flyingstones, road chemicals, etc., as the vehicle is driven.
Have the underbody checked regularly
(autumn and spring) and have addi- tional protection treatment carried outas required. As not all of the commer- cially available materials are suitable for use on your vehicle, it is recom-mended that you have this work done at an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
When washing the vehicle, especially
in winter, spray the underbody withwater to remove dirt and dust which might contain salts, road chemicals, etc. F010K01P-GAT Upholstery and Interior To maintain the value of your new vehicle, handle the upholstery care- fully and keep the interior clean. Use a vacuum cleaner and brush to clean the seats. If stained, vinyl and synthetic leather should be cleanedwith an appropriate cleaner, and cloth fabrics can be cleaned with either up- holstery cleaner or a 3% solution ofneutral detergent in lukewarm water.Clean the carpeting with a vacuumcleaner and remove any stains withcarpet cleaner.Oil and grease can be removed bylightly dabbing with a clean colorfast cloth and benzene or spot remover.
