renberestrainedinchildrestraintsystemsatall
timeswhilethevehicleisinmotioninaccord-
ancewithapplicablelaws.
Theuseofinfantorchildrestraintsisrequired
bylawinall50statesandtheCanadianprov-
inces.
Thechildrestraintsystemshouldbeonethat
complieswithU.S.Federal/CanadianMotorVe-
hicleSafetyStandards213andshouldbese-
curedbyalapbeltorlapbeltportionofalap-
shoulderbelt.
Astatementbytheseatmanufacturerofcom-
pliancewiththisstandardcanbefoundonthe
instructionlabelontherestraintandinthein-
structionmanualprovidedwiththerestraint.

-Whenusinganinfantorchildrestraintsystem,
besuretofollowallmanufacturer'sinstruc-
tionsoninstallationanduse.
-Infantsandsmallchildrenshouldneverbe
heldonthelap,norshouldtheysharea
safetybeltwithanotheroccupantwhiletheve-
hicleisinmotion.
-Childrentoobigforchildrestraintsystems
shoulduseregularsafetybelts.Ashoulder
beltcanbeusedprovidingitdoesnotcross
thefaceortheneckofthechild.
-Formaximumsafetyandprotection,werec-
ommendthatsmallchildrentravelintherear
seats.
Theairbagdeactivationdeviceinstallation
requiresspecialprogrammingavailable
onlyfromyourauthorizedPorschedealer.
YourauthorizedPorschedealerwillbeglad
toadviseyouabouttheinstallationpossi-
bilityforaPorschechildrestraintsystem
whichallowsdeactivationofthepas-
senger'sairbags.

Theuseofachildrestraintsysteminthe
passengerseatwithoutairbagdeactivation
canresultinseriouspersonalinjuryor
deathtothechildfromanairbagdeploy-
ment.
Toreduceriskofinjuryfromaninflating
airbaginanaccident,Porschestrongly
recommends:
I>Donotuseachildrestraintsysteminthepas-
sengerseatunlessthepassengerairbagsare
deactivated.
Rearwardfacingchildrestraintsystem:

Useonlyinthepassengerseat.

UseinpassengerseatonlywiththePorsche
childrestraintsystemwithairbagdeactivation
capability.
WhenusingthePorschechildrestraintsystem
youmust
ensurethatthepassengerairbags
aredeactivated.
Forwardfacingchildrestraintsystem:

restraintsysteminthepassengerseat,
thepassengerairbagsmustbedeacti-

mustalwaysbeinsertedinthebuckle"A"
infrontofthepassengerseat.
Whentheignitionisswitchedon,deactivationof
theairbagsisindicatedbytheairbagwarning
lightflashingfor60seconds.

notdeactivatedandachildrestraintsys-
temmustnotbeinstalled.
