Emergencyequipment
Itisgoodpracticetocarryemergencyequip-
mentinyourvehicle.
Someoftheitemsyoushouldhaveare:
windowscraper,snowbrush,containerorbag
ofsandorsalt,emergencylight,smallshovel,
first-aid
kit,etc.

Keys
Pleasenotechapters"CentralLockingand
AlarmSystem".
Twomainkeysandonesparekeyaresupplied
withyourPorsche.
Thesekeysoperateallthelocksonyourve-
hicle.
I>Becarefulwithyourcarkeys:donotpart
withthemexceptunderexceptionalcircum-
stances.
I>Toavoidbatteryrun-down,alwaysremovethe
ignitionkeyfromtheignitionlock.
Replacementkeys
Replacementcarkeyscanbeobtainedonly
fromyourauthorizedPorschedealer,andthis
cansometimesbeverytime-consuming.
Youshouldthereforealwayskeepthesparekey
onyourperson.
Keepitinasafeplace(e.g.wallet),butunder
nocircumstancesinoronthevehicle.
Thekeycodesofnewkeyshavetobe
"reported"tothecarcontrolunitbyyourauth-
orizedPorschedealer.
Thekeygripofthesparekeycanbeexchanged
foramain-keygrip.
Disabling
key
codes
Ifakeyislost,thekeycodescanbedisabled
byanauthorizedPorschedealer.
Alltheremainingcarkeysarerequiredforthis
purpose.
Disablingthecodeensuresthatthecarcanbe
startedonlyusingauthorizedkeys.
Note
Pleasenotethattheotherlockscanstillbeop-
enedwiththedisabledkey.
Immobilizer
Thereisatransponder(anelectroniccompo-
nent)inthekeygrip,containingastoredcode.
Whentheignitionisswitchedon,theignition
lockchecksthecode.
Theimmobilizercanbedeactivatedandtheen-
ginestartedonlyusinganauthorizedignition
key.
Note
Iftheignitionisleftonformorethantwo
minuteswithoutstartingtheengine,theimmobi-
lizerisreactivated.
I>Ifthishappens,theignitionkeymustbe
turnedbacktothe"0"positionbeforetheen-
ginecanbestarted.
Theimmobilizerisautomaticallyactivatedwhen
theignitionkeyiswithdrawn.

Security
WheelBolts
Ifwheelshavetoberemovedduringaworkshop
visit,donotforgettohandoverthesocketfor
thesecuritywheelboltsalongwiththecarkey.

4-120seconds.
Type2
Thedoorsstaylockedwhentheluggagecom-
partmentisunlocked.
Theremote-controlstandbyfunction
switchesoffafter5days
Ifthevehicleisnotstartedorunlockedwiththe
remotecontrolwithinfivedays,theremotecon-
trolstandbyfunctionisswitchedoff(toprevent
dischargingofthevehiclebattery).
1.Inthiscase,unlockthedriver'sdoorwiththe
keyatthedoorlock.
Leavethedoorclosedinordertopreventthe
alarmsystemfrombeingtriggered.
2.Pressbutton1ontheremotecontrol.
