(1) The service brake is divided into two brake circuits so that when one brake circuit fails,the other is available to stop the vehicle. Ifthis occurs, however, the brake pedal mustbe depressed further than usual; stop driv-ing as soon as possible and have the brakesystem serviced at the nearest authorizedHYUNDAI dealer.
(2) Do not place a thick floor mat around the brake pedal; doing so could prevent the fullpedal stroke that would be necessary in anemergency. Make sure that the pedal canbe operated freely at all times.

vehicle and trailer moving, and then apply the trailer brake controller by hand to besure the brakes are working. This lets you
check your electrical connection at the sametime.

3. Trailer towing requires more fuel than nor- mal conditions.
4. To maintain engine braking efficiency and electrical charging performance, do not usefifth gear (manual transmission) or overdrive(automatic transmission).
5. Always secure items in the trailer to prevent load shift while driving.
6. Check the condition and air pressure of all tires on the trailer and your car. Low tirepressure can seriously affect the handling.
