the sun visor, pull up the cover.Each ceiling light has a three-
position switch. In the OFF position,
the light does not come on. In the
center position, the ceiling light
comes on when you open either door.
Af ter both doors are closed tightly,
the light goes out. In the ON position,
the ceiling light stays on
continuously.

The ceiling lights (with each switch
in the center position) will also come
on when you remove the key f rom
the ignition switch. If you do not
open a door, the lights stay on, then
f ade out in about ten seconds.The f ront ceiling light also contains
two spotlights.
Turn on the spotlight by pushing the
button next to each light. Push the
button again to turn it off. You can
use the spotlights at all times.The cargo area light comes on when
you open the hatch.
The f ront and center ceiling lights
(witheachswitchinthecentre
position) come on when you unlock
the door with the key or the remote
transmitter (see page ).

Proper use of the Heating and
Cooling system can make the
interior dry and comf ortable, and
keep the windows clear f or the best
visibility.This button controls the source of
the air going into the system. When
the indicator in this button is lit, air
from the car’s interior is sent
through the system again (Recircula-
tion mode). When the indicator is off,
air is brought in f rom outside the car
(Fresh Air mode).
This button turns the air condi-
tioning ON and OFF. The indicator
in the button lights when the A/C ison.
This button turns the rear window
def ogger on and of f (see page ).
Turning this dial clockwise increases
the f an’s speed, which increases air
flow.
Turning this dial clockwise increases
the temperature of the air flow.

Open the hatch.Put your fingers between the
interior trim and the hatch glass
on either side of the high-mount
brake light. Caref ully pull down on
the trim to unsnap the clips f rom
the hatch. Work your way toward
each end of the trim. Remove the
trim.Remove the bulb holder f rom the
light assembly by pushing the tabs
on both sides and pulling the bulb
holder down.
Pull the bulb straight out of its
bulb holder. Push the new bulb in
until it bottoms in the bulb holder.

Push the new bulb straight into
the socket until it bottoms.
Pull the bulb straight out of its
socket.
Put the socket back into its hole in
the lens and turn it clockwise until
it locks.
Put the side turn signal assembly
back into the body, rear first. Push
on the f ront edge until it snaps into
place.
Push the bulb holder into the light
assembly until it locks in place.

Line up the clips on the interior
trim with the corresponding holes
in the hatch.Push on the trim to
snap it back in place.
Pushthefrontof thesideturn
signal assembly toward the rear of
the vehicle until it pops out of the
body.
Turn the socket one-quarter turn
counterclockwise to remove it
from the lens.

If something electrical in your car
stops working, the f irst thing you
should check f or is a blown f use.
Determine f rom the chart on pagesand , or the diagram on the
fuse box lid, which fuse or fuses
control that component. Check those
f uses f irst, but check all the f uses
bef ore deciding that a blown f use is
not the cause. Replace any blown
f uses and check the component’s
operation.
Turn the ignition switch to LOCK
(0). Make sure the headlights and
all other accessories are off.
Remove the cover f rom the f use
box. Check each of the large f uses in
the under-hood f use box by
looking through the top at the wire
inside. Removing these f uses
requires a Phillips-head screw-
driver.
Check the smaller f uses in the
under-hood f use box and all the
fuses in the interior fuse box by
pulling out each f use with the f use
puller provided in the interior f use
box.
