The ESP/ASR systems offer exceptional safety innormal driving, but thisshould not encourage thedriver to take extra risks
or drive at high speed. The correct functioning of these systems depends on observationof the manufacturer's recommen-dations regarding the wheels (tyresand rims), the braking components, the electronic components, and thePEUGEOT assembly and opera-tion procedures. After an impact, have the system
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.

For the front, side* and curtain* air bags to be fully effective, observe the following safety rules:
Wear a correctly adjusted seat belt.
Sit in a normal upright position.
Do not leave anything between the occupants of the front seats and the air bags (a child, pet, object). This could hamper the operation of the air bags or injure the occupants.
All work on the air bag system is strictly forbidden unless it is carried out by qualified personnel of the PEUGEOT network.
After an accident or if the vehicle has been stolen or broken into, have the air bag systems checked.
Front air bags
Do not drive holding the steering wheel by its spokes or resting your hands on the centre part of the wheel.
Passengers must not place their feet on the fascia.
Smoke as little as possible; deployment of the air bags can cause burns or the risk of injury from a cigarette or pipe.
Never remove or pierce the steering wheel or hit it violently.
Side air bags*
Only put approved covers on the front seats. Contact your PEUGEOT dealer.
Do not fix or glue anything to the front seat backs. This could cause injury to the chest or arms when the side air baginflates.
Do not sit with the upper part of the body any nearer to the door than necessary.
Curtain air bags*
Do not fix or glue anything to the pillars or the roof. This could cause injury to the head when the curtain air baginflates.
Do not remove the bolts from the grab handles installed on the roof, they play a part in securing the curtain air bags.
* According to destination.

For your safety, always change the wheel:
Ð on level, stable, non-slippery ground,
Ð with the handbrake on and the ignition switched off,
Ð with first or reverse gear engaged (position Pfor the
automatic gearbox),
Ð with the vehicle chocked. Never go underneath a vehicle that is supported only by a jack(use a ramp) Never refit the holder under the vehicle without the sparewheel. After changing the wheel:
Ð have the correct positioning of the punctured wheel, the tight- ening of the bolts and the tyrepressure checked by a PEUGEOT dealer as soon aspossible.
Ð have the punctured tyre repaired and refit it to the vehi-cle as soon as possible.
Ð have the correct positioning of the spare wheel checked by a
