To be effective, a seat belt must be tightened as close to the body as possible. Depending on the nature and the seriousness of the impact, the pre-tensioners may be triggered before and independently of the air bags.
In all cases of triggering, the air bag warning light on the instrument panelcomes on.
After an impact, have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
