EBU00132Engine mixing oil
If Yamalube “R” oil is not available, select an oil
from the following list.cCNever mix two types of oil in the same batch.
Always use the same type of oil to ensure
maximum engine performance.
Recommended oil:
Yamalube “R”
(Yamalube Racing 2-cycle oil)
Mixing ratio: 24:1Recommended oil Mixing ratio

EBU00490Transmission oilMake sure the transmission oil is at the specified
level. Add oil as necessary. (See pages 8-17 ~
8-23.)cCBe sure to use motor oils that do not contain
anti-friction modifiers. Passenger car motor
oils (often labeled “Energy Conserving”) con-
tain anti-friction additives which will cause
clutch and/or starter clutch slippage, result-
ing in reduced component life and poor
engine performance.
Recommended oil:
SAE 10W30
Recommended oil classification:
API Service SE, SF, SG type or higher
Oil quantity:
Total amount:
1.7 L
Periodic oil change:
1.5 L

Transmission oil measurement
1. Place the machine on a level place.
2. Warm up the engine for several minutes
and then stop it.
3. Remove the dipstick and wipe it off with a
clean rag. Insert the dipstick in the filler
hole without screwing it in.NOTE:
Wait a few minutes until the oil level settles
before checking.4. Remove the dipstick and inspect the oil
level.
5. The oil level should be between the maxi-
mum and minimum marks. If the level is
low, add oil to raise it to the proper level.
6. Install the dipstick.

Transmission oil replacement
1. Place the machine on a level place.
2. Warm up the engine for several minutes
and then stop it.
3. Place a container under the engine.
4. Remove the dipstick and drain bolt to drain
the oil.
5. Install the drain bolt and then tighten it to
the specified torque.
6. Fill the engine with oil and install the dip-
stick.

cC8Be sure to use motor oils that do not con-
tain anti-friction modifiers. Passenger car
motor oils (often labeled “Energy Conserv-
ing”) contain anti-friction additives which
will cause clutch and/or starter clutch slip-
page, resulting in reduced component life
and poor engine performance.
8Be sure no foreign material enters the
crankcase.

7. Start the engine and warm up for a few
minutes. While warming up, check for oil
leakage. If oil leakage is found, stop the
engine immediately, and check for the
cause.
8. Check the oil level.EBU00764*Cooling system
1. Check the coolant level in the coolant
reservoir when the engine is cold as the
coolant level will vary with engine temper-
ature. The coolant level should be
between the maximum and minimum
marks.
