CHILD SEATS Although one of PEUGEOT's main concerns when designing your vehicle, the safety of your children also depends on you.
For maximum safety, please follow these precautions:
- All children under the age of 10 must travel in a special approved child seat*, adapted to their weight, in a seat fitted with a seat belt.
- Front passenger seat*: children under the age of 10 must not travel in the forwards facing position**. The rearwards facing position is permitted. In this position, it is compulsory to disarm the passenger air bag.
After carrying out numerous tests, PEUGEOT recommends the following systems: Up to 18 months (up to 13 kg)
" Britax Babysure": installed with its back to the engine in the front or in the rear using a three-point seat belt. In the front, the passenger seat must be in the 'mid-way' position on the slide.
From 9 months to 3 or 4 years (9 to 18 kg) "Ršmer Prince": installed in the rear using a three-point seat belt. For the safety of your child, the seat and the restraining cushion must never be separated.
From 3 to 6 years (15 to 25 kg) "Ršmer Vario'': installed in the rear with a three point seat belt.
* According to current legislation in the country of destination.
** Unless the rear seats are already occupied by other children or the rear seats cannot be used (because they are missing or folded down). In this case, adjust the front passenger seat to the rear-most position and leave the air bag active.

Never leave a child or an animal in a vehiclewhich is exposed to thesun and has the win-dows closed.
Never leave the keys within
reach of children inside the car. Disarm the passenger air bag when installing a rearÐfacing childseat in the front; there is a risk ofthe child being killed or seriouslyinjured if the air bag were toinflate. Observe strictly the assembly rec- ommendations as shown in thechild seat instructions.

From 3 to 10 years (15 to 36 kg)
''Recaro Start'': installed in the rear with a threeÐpoint seat belt. The height and width of the seat back must be adjusted according to the age and build of your child. "Klippan Optima": installed in the rear with a threeÐpoint seat belt. From the age of 6 years (approximately 22 kg), the booster is used on its own.
Remember, even for short journeys, to fasten the three-point seat belts or thechild seat straps, keeping the slack in relation to the child's body to a minimum.
To prevent the doors from opening accidentally, use the child-lock.

SEAT BELTS
To adjust the height of the front seat belts Pinch control 1and slide it.
To lock the seat beltsPull the strap, then insert the buckle into the stalk. Pre-tensioning and force-limitingfront seat belts Safety in the event of a frontal impact has been improved by the introduc-tion of pre-tensioning and force-limit-ing front seat belts. Depending onthe seriousness of the impact, thepre-tensioning system instantly tight-ens the seat belt firmly against thebody of the occupant. The pre-tensioning seat belts are active when the ignition is on. The force-limiting device reduces the pressure of the seat belt against theoccupant's body in the event of anaccident. Rear seat belts The rear seats are fitted with two three-point inertia reel belts.

To be effective, a seat belt must be tightened asclose to the body as pos-sible.
Depending on the nature and theseriousness of the impact, thepre-tensioners may be triggeredbefore and independently of theair bags. In all cases, the air bag warning light comes on. Following a collision, have the system checked by a PEUGEOT
dealer. The system has been designed to be fully operational for ten years. Have it replaced after this period.

ELECTRONIC ENGINE IMMOBILISER This locks the engine management system as soon as the ignition has
been switched off and therefore pre-vents starting of the vehicle by any-
one who does not have the key. The ignition key has an electronic chip which has a special code. Whenthe ignition is switched on, the codeis recognised and starting is possi-ble. If the system does not function
correctly, an audible signal sounds,
accompanied by a message on the
multi-function display.
WARNING: your vehicle is no longer
protected in this event.
