DRAIN/REFILL- Engine oil. - Bleed fuel filter (diesel). - Oil filter. - Fuel filter (petrol). REPLACE- Fuel filter element (diesel). - Air filter element. - Spark plugs (petrol). - Engine oil (check + top-up). - Manual gearbox oil (check + top-up). - Battery (check + top-up) if cap is removable. LEVEL- Screen wash (check + top-up). - Coolant (check + top-up). - Brake fluid (check + top-up). - Power steering fluid (check + top up according to specification). - Operation of lights and indicators. - Condition of glass, headlamp and light lenses and mirrors. - Horn. - Windscreen washer jets. - Condition of wiper blades. - Condition and tension of the ancillary drive belts. - Handbrake. - Condition of hydraulic circuits (hoses and covers). CHECK- Condition of rubber boots and gaiters. - Brake pads. - Play in hubs, link rods, ball joints, flexible mountings. - Shock absorbers. - Rear drum brake lining wear. - Condition and pressure of tyres (including spare wheel). - Emission control check as per current legislation (petrol). - Smoke opacity (diesel). - Pollen filter (according to specification). - Visual check of the whole vehicle. Maintenance position This position enables the wiper blade to be removed.
In the minute following switching off of the ignition, any action on the stalkpositions the wipers in the centre ofthe windscreen (winter parking, clea-ning, replacement of the blades).
To reposition the wipers after this has been done, switch on the ignitionand operate the stalk.

Do not cover the rain sen- sor located on the wind-screen behind the interior
mirror.
When using an automatic carwash, switch off the ignition orcheck that the wiper stalk is not inthe automatic position In winter it is advisable to wait for the windscreen to completelyclear of ice before operating theautomatic wipe.Rear windscreen wiper

Rear windscreen wash Turn ring Apast the first
notch; the windscreen wash then the windscreen wiperoperate for a specified time.
CHANGING A WINDSCREEN WIPER BLADE Placing the wiper blades in the maintenance position Within one minute of switching
off the ignition, activate the wind-screen wiper stalk to position theblades in the centre of the wind-screen (maintenance position).
Replacing a blade Lift the arm, then unclip the blade and remove it.
Fit the new blade and fold downthe arm.
Note: the shortest blade is fitted to
the wiper arm on the right side of thevehicle.
To park the blades, switch on the ignition and operate the wind-screen wiper stalk. ECONOMY MODE FUNCTION After the engine has stopped, certain
functions (windscreen wiper, electricwindows, sunroof*, courtesy lights,audio equipment etc.) can only beused for a total time of thirty minutes,
to prevent discharging the battery.
Once the thirty minutes are over, the message
"Economy mode active"
appears on the multifunction displayand the active functions are put on
standby.
To resume use of these functions, start the engine and allow it to run fora few seconds.
WARNING: a flat battery will prevent
the engine from starting. LOAD REDUCTION When driving, certain functions (air conditioning*, heated rear screen,heating system for passenger com-partment of diesel vehicles, etc.)
may be switched off temporarily,depending on the level of batterycharge. Reactivation of these functions is automatic, once the battery charge is
sufficient. Note:
at the risk of discharging the
battery, the functions switched off
may be reactivated manually.
