''Isofix''mountings Available on the two side rear seats,
and as an accessory on the front passenger seat*, the Isofix moun-tings allow for fitting of a special
child seat , approved by UTAC for
PEUGEOT vehicles and sold by
PEUGEOT dealers. The locks incorporated in the child seat fit onto the Isofix mountings andensure safe, reliable and fast assem-
bly. In the front
, the child seat must be
fitted:
- either in the "rear facing" position for children weighing between
3 and 11 kg front seat as far for-
ward as possible so that the body
of the child seat is in contact withor as close as possible to the ins-
trument panel. This position thuslimits movement of the child seat inthe event of an accident.
- or exceptionally the child seat may be fitted in the 'forwards facing'position if the rear seats are alrea-dy occupied by other children or ifthe rear seats cannot be used (notpresent, folded). In this case, usethe Isofix mountings, the restrai-ning cushion and the seat belt andadjust the front passenger seat tothe "mid-travel" position.
In both cases it is imperative todisarm the passenger air bag. In the rear , the child seat may be fit-
ted in the "rear facing" or "forwards facing" position. In this case the
front seat is in the intermediatelongitudinal position, seat backupright .
The combined use of the Isofixmountings, the restraining cushionand the seat belt is compulsory for aseat fitted "facing forward".

The special child seat, approved by
PEUGEOT, is the Isofix KIDDY seat.It can be used "rear facing" from 3 to
11 kg and "forwards facing" from 9 to18 kg. This seat can also be used on seats not fitted with Isofix mountings:buckling of the three-point seat belt
is then compulsory. Follow the instructions for fitting the child seat given in the instruc-tion booklet. * During 2001.

Never leave a child or an animal in a vehicle whichis exposed to the sunwiththe windows closed.
Never leave the keys within reach
of children inside the car. Strap children into their seats even on short journeys. Observe the precautions regar- ding the passenger air bag. Observe the fitting and fastening recommendations, indicated in
the child seat instructions, strictly.

From 3 to 10 years (33 to 80 lbs or 15 to 36 kg) "Recaro Start": is fitted in the rear with the three-point seat belt. The height, depth and length of the seat must be adjusted in line with the age and size of your child. "Klippan Optima" : is fitted in the rear with a three-point seat belt. Above 6 years (approximately 45 lbs or 22 kg).
Remember, even for short journeys, to fasten the three-point seat belts or the child seat straps, keeping the slack in relation to the child's body to a minimum.
To prevent the doors from opening accidentally, use the ''child-proof'' lock. Also, do not open the rear windows more than a third.

The high-frequency remote control is a high-performance system.Do not operate it while it is in your pocket as there is a possibility that it may unlock your vehicle without your
knowledge.The remote control cannot operate if the key is in the ignition, even if the ignition is switched off, except for reprogram- ming. Do not operate the deadlock if there is someone inside the vehicle.As a safety measure (when there are children on board), remove the ignition key when leaving the vehicle, even for a short time.
Do not handle the buttons of your remote control when out of range of your vehicle. You run the risk of stopping it from working. It would then be necessary to reprogramme the remote control. When buying a second-hand car:
- Ensure that you are given the confidential card;
- have the key codes memorised by a PEUGEOT dealer, to ensure that the keys in your possession are the only ones that can start your vehicle.
Do not make any modifications to the electronic engine immobiliser system.

Locking / Unlocking from the inside Press button A.
This allows locking or unlocking of the doors and the tailgate. Note: if the vehicle is deadlocked,
button Adoes not function. In this
case use the remote control for unlocking. "Door open" alert With the engine running or the vehicle moving, the flashing of thecentral "STOP" warning light,
accompanied by an audible signaland a diagram locating the problem
on the multifunction display, warnsyou that a door is not properly clo-sed.
THE DOORS Opening the doors from outside Opening the doors from inside The front door unlocking controls permit complete unlocking of thevehicle.
However, the rear door unlocking controls only unlock the door concerned. Note:
the door opening switches do
not function when the vehicle is deadlocked.
Child safety This prevents either of the rear doors being opened from inside. Turn the red plastic switch a quarter of a turn using the ignition
key.

ELECTRIC WINDOWS
1 - Driver's electric window switch.

Safety auto-reverse* When the window on the driver's side rises and meets an obstacle, itstops and lowers again. Note: In the case of frost or after
reconnecting the battery, if the win- dow will not rise, pull the switch untilit closes completely and hold it forone second to reinitialise the system.
