Seat belt not fastened warning light*
When the ignition is switched on, thisindicator light comes on if the driverhas not fastened his seat belt. Air bag warning light
The light will come on for a few secondswhen the ignition is switched on. With the engine running, illumination of this warning light is accompaniedby an audible signal and a messageon the multi-function display indica-ting a fault in the air bags.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Battery charge warning light
This indicates one of the following:
Ð faulty operation of the charging cir- cuit,
Ð slack battery or starter terminals,
Ð a cut or slack alternator belt,
Ð an alternator failure.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Engine diagnostics warning light
This comes on each time the ignitionis switched on. If it comes on with the engine run- ning, this indicates incorrect opera-tion of the injection, ignition or emis-
sion control system. There is a risk ofdamage to the catalytic converter(petrol engine only).
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

Water in diesel filter indicator*
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer as soonas possible. There is a risk of damage to the injection system.
Passenger air bag disarming warning light*
Illumination of this warning light is accompanied by an audible signal and
the message "Passenger air bagdisarmed" on the multi-function display.
If the passenger air bag is disarmed, thewarning light comes on when the ignitionis switched on and it remains on.
Always consult a PEUGEOT dealer if the warning light flashes. Low fuel level warning light
When this light first comes on, you haveenough fuel to drive at least 50 km. The tank capacity is approximately 50 litres.
Diesel engine pre-heatwarning light
Wait until the warning light goes outbefore starting the engine. If the temperature is high enough, the warning light comes on for less
than one second. You can start theengine without waiting.
Coolant temperature indicator
Ð needle in zone (A), the temperatu-
re is correct,
Ð needle in zone (B), the temperatu-
re is too high. The central STOP
warning light flashes.
You must stop.

TOWING A TRAILER,
CARAVAN, BOAT etc,
Only use original PEUGEOT tow bars that have been tested andapproved from the design stage of
your vehicle. The tow bar must be
fitted by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Your vehicle is basically designed for transporting people and luggagebut it may also be used for towing a
trailer. Driving with a trailer subjects the towing vehicle to more significantstress and its driver must be particu-larly careful. Air density decreases with altitude, thus reducing engine performance.Above 1000 metres, the maximumtowing load must be reduced by10% and so on for every 1000metres of altitude. Driving advice Distribution of loads
: distribute the
load in the trailer so that the hea- viest items are as close as possibleto the axle and the nose weightapproaches the maximum permittedwithout exceeding it. Cooling : towing a trailer on a slope
increases the temperature of the
coolant. As the fan is electricallycontrolled, its cooling capacity is notdependent on the engine speed.
On the contrary, use a high gear to lower the engine speed, and reduceyour speed. The maximum towing load on a long slope depends on the gradient andthe outside temperature. In all cases, pay attention to thecoolant temperature. If the warning light comes on, stop
the vehicle and switch off the engineas soon as possible.
Tyres
: check the tyre pressures of
the towing vehicle and of the trailer, observing the recommended pres-sures. Braking : towing increases the bra-
king distance.Lights : adjust your headlamps so
that they do not dazzle other road users. Check the electrical signalling
on the trailer. Side wind : take into acount the
increased sensitivity to side wind.
