To move the seat toward the front or rear, pull the lock release lever up-ward. This will releases the seat on itstrack so you can move it forward orrearward to the desired position. When you find the position you want, release the lever and slide the seat forward orrearward on its track until it locks intothe desired position and cannot bemoved further.

To recline the seatback, lean forward to take your weight off it, then pull upon the recliner control lever at theoutside edge of the seat. Now leanback until the desired seatback angle is achieved. To lock the seatback into position, release the recliner controllever.

The purpose ofthe pre-tensioner is to make sure that the seat belts fit tightly against the occupant's body in certain frontal col-lisions.The pre-tensioner seat belts can beactivated alone or, where the frontalcollision is severe enough, together with the airbags. The pre-tensioner seat belt operatesin a similar way as an Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) type of seatbelt. When the vehicle stops suddenly,or if the occupant tries to lean forwardtoo quickly, the seat belt retractor willlock into position. However, in certain frontal collisions, the pre-tensioner will activate and pull the seat belt intotighter contact against the occupant'sbody.

dust may cause skin irritation and should not be breathed forprolonged periods. Wash yourhands and face thoroughly after an accident in which the pre- tensioner seat belts were acti-vated.
CAUTION:
o Because the sensor that activates the SRS airbag is connected withpre-tensioner seat belt, the SRSairbag warning light on theinstrument panel will blink for approximately 6 seconds after the ignition key has been turnedto the "ON" position, and then itshould turn off.
o If pre-tensioner seat belt is not working properly, this warning light will illuminate even if there is no malfunction of the SRSairbag. If the SRS airbag warninglight does not illuminate whenthe ignition key is turned to "ON"or if it remains illuminated after blinking for approximately 6 sec- onds, or if it illuminates while the

o Front airbags are not intended to
deploy in side-impact, rear-im- pact or rollover crashes. In addi-tion, airbags will not deploy infrontal crashes below the deploy-ment threshold speed.
o The driver should sit back as far as possible while still maintain-ing control of the vehicle. If youare sitting too close to the airbag,it can cause death or seriousinjury when it inflates.
o No objects should be placed over or near the airbag modules onthe steering wheel, instrumentpanel, and the front passenger'spanel above the glove box,because any such object couldcause harm if the vehicle is in a crash severe enough to cause the airbags to deploy.
o If the airbags deploy, they must
be replaced by an authorizedHyundai dealer.o The SRS is designed to deploythe airbags only when an impact is sufficiently severe and whenthe impact angle is less than 30°from the forward longitudinal axisof the vehicle and will not deployin side, rear or rollover impacts. Additionally, the airbags will only deploy once. Thus, seat beltsmust be worn at all times.
o Front airbags are not intended deploy in light collisions in whichprotection can be provided by the seat belt.

The Passenger Presence Detection system is not intended to preventairbag deployment while a child isin the front passenger's seat. It is intended only as a means to reduce unnecessary collision damage re-pair expense by preventing airbagand seat belt pretensioner deploy-ment when the right front passen-ger seat is unoccupied. Deployment is still possible if only a few pounds are placed upon the seat. There-fore, children must not be trans-ported in the front seat. Your Hyundai is equipped with dual- diagonal braking systems. This meansyou still have braking on two wheelseven if one of the dual systems shouldfail. With only one of the dual systems working, more than normal pedal travel and greater pedal pressure are re-quired to stop the car. Also, the car willnot stop in as short a distance with onlyhalf of the brake system working. If thebrakes fail while you are driving, shift to a lower gear for additional engine braking and stop the car as soon as itis safe to do so. B260J01A-GAT
CHARGING SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT
The charging system warning light should come on when the ignition is turned on, then go out when the engine is running. If the light stays on while theengine is running, there is a malfunc-tion in the electrical charging system. Ifthe light comes on while you are driv-ing, stop, turn off the engine and check under the hood. First, make certain the generator drive belt is in place. If it is,check the tension of the belt. DOOR AJAR WARNING
LIGHT AND CHIME (If installed)
The door ajar warning light warns you that a door is not completely closedand the chime warns you that driver'sside front door is not completely closed. NOTE: To remind you not to lock the key inside the car, the warning light comes on whenever the key is in the "LOCK" position and a door isopen. The warning chime onlysounds whenever the key is in the"LOCK" position and the driver'sside front door is open. The chime sounds and the light remains on until the key is removed from theignition. LOW FUEL LEVEL WARNING LIGHT
The low fuel level warning light comes on when the fuel tank is approachingempty. When it comes on, you shouldadd fuel as soon as possible. Drivingwith the fuel level warning light on or with the fuel level below "E" can cause the engine to misfire and damage thecatalytic converter. The SRS service reminder indicator (SRI) comes on and flashes for about6 seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position or after the engine is started, after which it will goout. This light also comes on when the SRS is not working properly. If the SRI does not come on, or continuously remains on after flashing for about 6 seconds,or goes out for a second after illuminat-ing for about 6 seconds and then,
