Mirrors
Adjust all the mirrors so you can see clearly when you
are sitting in a comfortable driving position.
Inside Day/Night Rearview Mirror
To reduce glare from headlamps behind you, pull the
lever at the bottom of the mirror toward you (to the
night position). To return the mirror to the day position,
push the lever away from you.
Inside Day/Night Rearview Mirror with
OnStar and Map Lamps (If Equipped)
This mirror has a lever located at the bottom of the
mirror between the two map lamps. This lever is used to
change the mirror from day to night position. To reduce
glare from headlamps behind you while driving at night,
turn the lever 90 degrees. To return the mirror to the day
position, return the lever to its original position.
There are two map lamps located on the bottom of the
mirror. Each lamp is turned on and off by pressing the
button next to the lamp.
There are also three OnStar buttons located at the
bottom of the mirror face. See your dealer for more

2-49 Electrochromic Automatic Dimming
Rearview Mirror (If Equipped)
Your vehicle may have an electrochromic day/night
rearview mirror. Push the button in the center of the
mirror to turn this feature on. The mirror will darken
gradually to reduce glare from headlamps behind you.
This may take a few moments.
The mirror's two outer buttons operate the lights on the
bottom sides of the mirror.One photocell on the front of the mirror senses when it
is becoming dark outside. Another photocell, facing
rearward, senses headlamps behind you. To turn the
electrochromic feature off, press the button in the center
of the mirror again.
To keep the photocells operating well, occasionally
clean them with a cotton swab and glass cleaner.
Electrochromic Day/Night Rearview
Mirror with OnStar and Map Lamps
(If Equipped)
Your vehicle may have an automatic electrochromic
day/night rearview mirror with the OnStar System.
The automatic dimming feature is turned on or off by
pressing the far left button, located on the lower part of the
mirror face, for up to three seconds. When turned on, this
mirror functions exactly like the electrochromic mirror
described previously. See ªMirrors, Electrochromic
Automatic Dimmingº listed previously in this section
for more information.

Power Outside Foldaway Rearview Mirrors
The power mirror controls
are located on the driver's
door armrest.
To choose either the left or right outside mirror,
move the selector switch located above the control pad
to the left or the right. Then use the four
-way arrows
located on the control pad to move the mirrors in the
desired direction.
Adjust each mirror so you can see the side of your
vehicle and the area behind your vehicle.
These mirrors can also be folded rearward manually.

OnStar System (If Equipped)
OnStar is a vehicle communications system that offers
a variety of services and provides a one
-touch hands-free
communication link between you and the OnStar Center.
To receive OnStar services, a service subscription
agreement is required and an additional fee may
be required. Services are available 24 hours a day,
7 days a week. For more information,
call 1
-888-ONSTAR-7 (1-888-667-8277).
(OnStar Services Button): Press this button once
to contact an advisor who will be able to assist you with
these services. If you are not quickly connected, the
system will automatically reset and redial. This ensures
connection to the center; there is no additional action
required. Press the Communication button to cancel the
automatic redial.
(Emergency Button): In an emergency situation,
press the emergency service button. Upon receiving the
call, an advisor at the center will locate your vehicle and
assess the situation. If necessary, the advisor will alert
the nearest emergency service provider.
(Communication Button): Press this button
at the end of a call. Also press this button to answer
a call from the center, or cancel a call if one of the
other buttons is accidentally pressed. This button is
also used to access OnStar Personal Calling and Virtual
Advisor services. See the OnStar owner package for
more information.

PASSENGER Control: The PASSENGER CONTROL
buttons with the arrows adjust the temperature on the
passenger's side so it is warmer or cooler than the
temperature for the driver's side. Push the DUAL button
so that the indicator light is lit. Press the right arrow
button to raise the temperature. Press the left arrow
button to lower the temperature.
The display will not show the passenger's temperature,
only that of the driver. Indicators in the passenger
control section will show passenger's side temperature
relative to the driver's set temperature.
The amber light indicates the same temperature as
set for the driver.
The red lights indicate a warmer temperature than
that of the driver.
The blue lights indicate a cooler temperature than
that of the driver.
AUTO (Automatic Control): For the most efficient
operation, you should set the system temperature and
press AUTO. The system will then select the best fan
speed and airflow settings to keep you comfortable. The
air conditioning compressor will run if the outside
temperature is above 40F (4C). You may notice a
delay of two to three minutes before the fan comes on at
start up in cool weather.For the automatic system to function, the temperature
must be set between 61F (16C) and 89F (31C).
The driver's temperature and passenger's temperature
settings will be automatically maintained even if manual
overrides have been selected except for settings at
60F (15C) and 90F (32C).
Setting the temperature to 90F (32C) will lock
control in full hot, direct air to the floor, and increase
the fan speed to high. The system will not return to
automatic temperature control until the temperature
setting is lowered.
Setting the temperature to 60F (15C) will lock
control in full cold, recirculate interior air, direct air
to outlets on panel and increase blower speed to high.
The system will not return to automatic temperature
control until the temperature setting is raised.
OFF: Press this button to turn the air compressor off.
Heating
On cold days, use HTR with the driver and passenger
levers all the way in the red area. This system will bring
in outside air, heat it, and send it to the floor ducts.

RECALL: Push this knob to display the station
being played or to display the clock. To change what is
normally shown on the display (station or time), push
the knob until you see the display you want, then hold
the knob until the display flashes. Push this knob when
the ignition is off, to display the clock.
Finding a Station
AM±FM: Press this button to switch between AM,
FM1 and FM2. The display shows your selection.
TUNE: Turn this knob to choose radio stations.
SEEK : Press the right or left arrow to go to
the next or previous station and stay there. The radio
will seek to stations with a strong signal only. The
sound will mute while scanning. The sound will mute
while seeking.
To scan stations, press one of the SEEK arrows for
two seconds, and SCAN will appear on the display.
The radio will go to a station, play for a few seconds,
then go on to the next station. Press one of the SEEK
arrows again to stop scanning. The radio will scan to
stations with a strong signal only. The sound will mute
while scanning.P SCAN (Preset Scan): Press this button to listen to
each of your preset stations for a few seconds. The radio
will go to the first preset station, play for a few seconds,
then go on to the next preset station. Press P SCAN
again to stop scanning. The radio will scan preset
stations with a strong signal only. The sound will mute
while scanning.
Setting Preset Stations
The six numbered pushbuttons let you return to
your favorite stations. You can set up to 18 stations
(six AM, six FM1 and six FM2) by performing the
following steps:
1. Turn the radio on.
2. Press the AM±FM button to select the band.
3. Tune in the desired station.
4. Press and hold one of the six numbered pushbuttons.
The sound will mute. When it returns, release the
pushbutton. Whenever you press that numbered
pushbutton, the station you set will return.
5. Repeat the steps for each pushbutton.

Playing the Radio

VOLUME: Turn the knob clockwise to increase
volume. Turn it counterclockwise to decrease the
volume.

mute while scanning.
AUTO (Automatic) SET: Press this button and the
system will seek and set the 12 strongest FM or the
6 strongest AM stations on your preset pushbuttons
(depending on which band (AM or FM) you are
listening to). AUTO SET will flash while seeking
and will remain on until this function is complete.
To return to the stations you manually set, press
AUTO SET again.
