REAR PARKING
ASSISTANCE This system, installed in the rear
bumper, detects any obstacle
(person, vehicle, tree, barrier, kerb ...) situated behind thevehicle. Activation With the engine running, the sys- tem is activated when reverse
gear is engaged. A bleep indi-cates that it is active. The proximity information is pro- vided by an audible signal, consisting of bleeps which beco-me faster as the vehicleapproaches the obstacle. When the distance between the rear of the vehicle and the obs-tacle is less than approximatelytwenty-five centimetres, theaudible signal becomescontinuous. ➜Change to neutral to disarm the system.

on the multi-function display, warnsyou that the bonnet is not properlyclosed. FILLING WITH FUEL Low fuel level
When the minimum fuel level in the tank is rea-ched, this warning lightcomes on.
You can still drive
approximately 50 km.Flashing of the warning light indi- cates a malfunction of the fuelgauge.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer. The engine must be switched off when filling with fuel.

CHECKS Battery
At the start of winter, have your bat-
tery checked by a PEUGEOT dealer. Air filter and pollen filter Have the filter elements replaced
regularly. If you drive in dusty
conditions, change them twice asoften. Brake pads Brake pad wear depends on the style of driving, in particular forvehicles which are used in town, over short distances. It may benecessary to check the thickness ofthe pads, even between services. Handbrake Where the handbrake travel is too great or there is a reduction in theperformance of the system, thehandbrake should be adjusted, evenbetween services. Have the system checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer. Manual gearbox This does not need an oil change. Check the level, according to themanufacturer's servicing schedule. Automatic gearbox This does not need an oil change. Have the level checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer, according to themanufacturer's servicing schedule. Oil filter
Change the filter regularly, in accor- dance with the servicing schedule.
RUNNING OUT OF FUEL (DIESEL) If you should run out of fuel, it is necessary to re-prime the circuit:
- fill the fuel tank with at least five
litres of diesel,
- operate the manual re-priming pump, until you feel resistance during the manoeuvre,
- operate the starter until the engine starts.
