Light control switch
WARNING
To prevent battery discharge resulting from accidentally leaving your lights on when your vehicle is parked, the light switch oper-ates only when the ignition switch is in the “ON” position. In any
other position, the vehicle ’s lights will be out.
If you park your vehicle on a roadside at night, use the hazardwarning flasher to alert the other drivers.

Rear window defogger switch
CAUTION
Do not use sharp instruments or window cleaner containing
abrasives to clean the inner surface of the rear window. They may
damage the conductors printed on the window. To prevent the battery from being discharged, do not operate
the defogger continuously for any longer than necessary.
The rear wind ow d efog g er op erates only when the ig n ition switc h is in
the “ON ” p osition.
The rear wind ow d efog g er switc h is loc ated on the c limate c ontrol p anel.
The d efog g er will automatic ally shut off after ab ou t 15 minutes. If the win-
d ow c lears b efore that time, p ush the switc h to tur n it off. It also turns off
when the ig nition switc h is turned to the “ACC ” or “LOCK ” p osition. If
d efrosting or d efog g ing is d esired when you restart your vehic le, you
have to p ush the switc h to turn it on ag ain.
For vehicles with manual heating and air conditioning systems

Temperature control dial

NOTE A setting of about 77 F (25 C) throughout the year is recom-
mended. The temperature setting remains even after the ignition switch
is turned to the “OFF”. However, if the battery cables are discon-
nected, the temperature will be set to 77 F (25 C) automatically.
Set d esired temp erature b y turning the temp erature c ontrol d ial; turn
the d ial c loc kwise to raise the temp erature setting and turn it c ounter-
c loc kwise to lower it.
The temp erature c an b e set in inc rements of 1 F within a rang e of 65
– 85 F for US mod els and in inc rements of 0.5 C within a rang e of 18
– 32 C for Canad ian mod els.
Even when q uic k c ooling or warming is nec essary, yo u d o not have to
c hang e the temp erature setting . The Automatic Clima te Control sys-
tem op erates at maximum p erformanc e until the air i n the p asseng er
c omp artment reac hes to the sp ec ified temp erature.

weakened b y d istanc e from the station or p roximity to tall b uild ing s

Presetting a station with a “p reset b utton ”
5 allows you to selec t that
station in a sing le op eration. Up to six WB (if eq u ip p ed ), AM, FM1 and
FM2 stations eac h may b e p reset. How to preset stations
1. Press the “BAND ” b utton 3 to selec t FM1, FM2, AM or WB (if
eq uip p ed ) rec ep tion.
2. Press the “SCAN ” b utton or tune the rad io manually until the
d esired station freq uenc y is d isp layed .
3. Press one of the p reset b uttons for more than 2 s ec ond s to store
the freq uenc y. At this time, there will momentarily b e no sound from
the rad io. If the b utton is p ressed for less than 2 sec ond s, the p rec ed -
ing selec tion will remain in memory.
NOTE If the connection between the radio and battery is broken for any
reason such as vehicle maintenance or radio removal, all stationsstored in the preset buttons are cleared. If this occurs, it is neces-sary to reset the preset buttons.
