Disarming the system
To d isarm the system, b riefly p ress the “UNLOCK/DISARM ” b utton on
the transmitter. Tripped sensor identification
If the horn sound s four times and the p arking lig ht s flash four times
when you d isarm the system, this ind ic ates that the alarm was trig -
g ered . The numb er of times the ind ic ator lig ht flas hes ind ic ates what
sensor c aused the alarm c ond ition.
To enter id entific ation mod e:
1. Op en the d river ’s d oor and leave it op en.
2. Turn the ig nition switc h to the “ON ” p osition two times. ( “LOCK ” 
“ ON ”  “ LOCK ”  “ ON ”  “ LOCK ”)
3. The ind ic ator lig ht will start flashing .
The ind ic ator lig ht p rovid es the following ind ic ati ons.
Flashing one time: Any d oor, the rear g ate or the trunk lid has b een
op ened .
Flashing three times: The imp ac t sensor in the system ’s unit has
b een ac tivated . This may ind ic ate that your vehic le has b een shoc ked
or tamp ered with b y some outsid e forc e and /or unaut horized p erson.
Flashing four times: The ig nition switc h has b een turned on.
To exit this mod e, c lose the d oor and turn the ig ni tion switc h to the
“ ON ” p osition.

Windows
Power windows
WARNING
When operating power windows, be extremely careful to pre-
vent anyone ’s fingers, arms or head from being caught in the
window. Always lock the passengers ’ windows using the lock switch
when children are riding in the vehicle. Before leaving the vehicle, always remove the key from the
ignition switch for safety and never allow an unattended child toremain in the vehicle. Failure to follow this procedure could result
in injury to a child operating the power window.
The p ower wind ows op erate only when the ig nition sw itc h is in the “ON ”
p osition.

d ow reac hes the d esired p osition. To c lose the wind ow, p ull the switc h
up and hold it until the wind ow reac hes the d esired p osition.
When the loc k switc h on the p ower wind ow switc h c lu ster, loc ated on
the d river ’s sid e d oor, is in the “LOCK ” p osition, the p asseng ers ’ win-
d ows c annot b e op erated with the p asseng ers ’ switc hes.

WARNING
To prevent dangerous exhaust gas from entering the vehicle,
always keep the trunk lid closed while driving. Help prevent young children from locking themselves in the
trunk. When leaving the vehicle, either close all windows and lockall doors or cancel the inside trunk lid release. Also make certainthat the trunk is closed.
To open and close the trunk lid from outside

Pull the trunk lid release lever up ward . To cancel the trunk lid release

The insid e trunk lid release c an b e c anc elled to he lp p revent unautho-
rized entry into the trunk. To c anc el the trunk lid release, set the lid
release c anc el lever (loc ated on the insid e of the trunk lid , mounted to
the trunk lid latc h) to the “CANCEL ” p osition. When this loc k is in the
“ CANCEL ” p osition, the trunk c an b e op ened only with the ke y.

WARNING
To prevent dangerous exhaust gas from entering the vehicle, always keep the rear gate closed while driving.

To unloc k the rear g ate, insert the key in the keyh ole and turn it c loc k-
wise. To loc k the rear g ate, insert the key in the keyhole and turn it c oun-
terc loc kwise. If your vehic le is eq uip p ed with p owe r d oor loc king
switc hes, the rear g ate c an also b e loc ked and unlo c ked throug h use of
the p ower d oor loc king switc hes. Refer to “Power d oor loc king switc hes ”
sec tion in this c hap ter.
To op en the rear g ate, first unloc k the rear g ate l oc k then p ull the outsid e
hand le up . To c lose the rear g ate, lower it slowly and p ush d own firmly
until the latc h eng ag es.

Moonroof (if equipped)
WARNING
Never let anyone ’s hands, arms, head or any objects protrude
from the moonroof. Before closing the moonroof, make sure that no one ’s hands,
arms, head or other objects will be accidentally caught in themoonroof.
CAUTION
Do not sit on the edge of the open moonroof.
Do not operate the moonroof if falling snow or extremely cold
conditions have caused it to freeze shut.
Tilting/sliding moonroof (Sedan)
The moonroof has b oth tilting and slid ing func tions .
The moonroof op erates only when the ig nition switc h is in the “ON ” p osi-
tion.

The tilting func tion will only op erate when the moo nroof is fully c losed .
Push the rear sid e of the “Tilt ” switc h to raise the moonroof.
Push the front sid e of the “Tilt ” switc h to lower the moonroof.

The front moonroof has a tilting func tion and the r ear moonroof has a
slid ing func tion.
Both moonroofs op erate only when the ig nition switc h is in the “ON ” p osi-
tion.

To open the moonroof(s)
1. Op en the front sunshad e.
2. Continually p ush the rear sid e (OPEN) of the swit c h, and the front
moonroof will tilt up and stop automatic ally.
3. If you want to op en the rear moonroof as well, re lease the switc h onc e
and then p ush the rear sid e of the switc h c ontinuou sly.
The rear moonroof will b eg in to slid e op en tog ether with the rear sun-
shad e, then stop automatic ally at 7.9 in (20 c m) in a p artially op en p osi-
