Coolant temperature gauge Coolant temperature warning lampUnder normal operating conditions, the gauge may indicate a temperature of up to 100¡C.Under severe operating conditions, such as in high temperatures, the needle may approach the red zones.
If the warning lamp lights up, stop immediately, switch the engine off, the cooling fan may continue
to operate for a while , and allow to cool before checking the coolant level, taking the precautions
described in chapter IV - Maintenance - "Levels, checks".
Engine overheating can have various causes. Contact your nearest dealer.The STOP warning lamp flashes when the coolant temperature warning lamp is lit.
Engine oil levelOn switching on the ignition, the needle indicates the oil level and then returns to zero.Reading in the min. zone, check the level manually using the dipstick. Fuel gauge When the low level warning lamp comes on continuously with the vehicle on level ground, there remain approximately 5 to 7 litres of fuel in the tank. Reservoir capacity (in litres):

Exterior temperature display The outside temperature is dis- played whenever the ignition isswitched on. If the ¡C symbol flashes, there is a danger of ice on the roads. Resetting the trip mileage recorder to zero Press button

recorder and the trip mileage recorder. Press and hold down the button to reset the current trip mileage recor-der to zero. Dashboard lighting The intensity of the dashboard ligh- ting can be adjusted. Use the rheostat dimmer wheel located in the dashboard.

The maintenance indicator displays the number of miles to be covered before the next service (in accordance with the servicing schedules which appear in the Maintenance Guide). Operation: On switching on the ignition, the maintenance indicator spannerappears in the display for severalseconds ; the mileage recorder dis-play indicates how many milesremain to be travelled before thenext service is due. For example: you have the follo-
wing distance left to travel before the next service: Five seconds after switching on the ignition, the total mileage recorderreverts to normal operation and thetotal or trip mileages appear on the
display. Distance to be covered beforethe next service is less than
1000 miles. For example:
you have the follo-
wing distance left to travel before the next service: 900 Miles. For five seconds on switching on the ignition, the display shows: Five seconds after switching on the ignition, the total mileage recorderreverts to normal operation and themaintenance spanner remains illu-minated. This signifies that the vehicle will be
due for a service shortly. The totalor trip mileages appear on the dis-
play. The pre-set service distance hasbeen exceeded. The spanner and total number of miles exceeded flash in the displayfor five seconds after the ignition isswitched on. For example:

distance has been exceeded by
300 miles. Your vehicle must beserviced as soon as possible. Five seconds after switching on the ignition, the total mileage recorderreverts to normal operation and themaintenance spanner remains illu-minated.

Maintenance intervals If your vehicle is used in particular- ly harsh conditions, it is necessaryto select the maintenance sche-dules for Òspecial operating condi-tionsÓ (see the Maintenance Guide)which consist of more frequent ser-vices. Note: the maintenence spanner will
come on, and the display will read ''0'' if the maximum length of time
between services is attained beforethe mileage limit is reached. To change the maintenance intervals:
- Switch off the ignition.
- Press and hold down button
1.
- Switch on the ignition.
- The distance remaining until the next service flashes.
- Release the button immediately.
- The maintenance interval is dis- played.
- Pressing button 1briefly allows
the maintenance intervals to be alternated. - When the desired maintenance
interval is displayed, press button1 for ten seconds to validate (the
selected maintenance interval willflash for ten seconds).
Release the button to validate whenthe display stops flashing. Resetting the maintenance indicator to zero
Your dealer will perform this opera-
tion after each service. However, ifyou intend to service the vehicleyourself, the procedure for resettingthe maintenance indicator is as fol-lows:
- Switch off the ignition.
- Press and hold down button 1.
- Switch on the ignition.
- The distance remaining until the next service flashes.
- Hold button 1down for ten
seconds.
- The display will read Ò=0Óand the
spanner will disappear.

All the direction indicators flash simultaneously when the hazard war- ning lamps are switched on.
Anti-lock Braking Sys-tem On switching on the igni-
tion, the ABS lamp will
light for approximately 2 seconds. If it stays on there may be a fault in the system. See Chapter II Ç Brakes È RH direction indicatorSee Ç Signalling È Main beam See Ç Signalling È Front brake pad wear If it lights when pressing the brake pedal, have thebrake pads checked and
replaced if necessary.

the injection, ignition or emissionsystems. Contact the dealer network as soon as possible.

Horn Press the end of the stalk. Headlamp flash Pull the stalk towards you to flash headlamps.
The headlamp flash operates even with the ignition off. Direction indicators Left: move the stalk downwards.Right: move the stalk upwards.
Movement of the steering wheel returns the stalk to the off position automati-
cally. Hazard warning lamps
Operates the direction indicators simultaneously.
Use only in case of danger, emergency stop or in hazardous conditions.
Also operates with the ignition off.The direction indicators will not work when the hazard warning lamps are in use.

In good or rainy weather, both day and night, the rear foglamp is dazzling and is prohi-bited. Do not forget to switch it off as soon as it is no longer needed.
