1Lock 2Unlock
Turn the key towards the front of the vehicle to lock
and towards the back to unlock.
The doors lock and unlock simultaneously with either
front door. In the driver's door lock, turning the key once
will unlock the driver's door and twice in succession will
unlock all doors simultaneously. In the passenger's door
lock, turning the key once will unlock all doors
simultaneously.
The windows and moon roof can be opened and closed
from outside the vehicle using the key. For details, see
ªPower window switchesº on page 42 and ªMoon roofº
on page 111.

To turn on the personal light, push the switch. To
turn it off, push the switch again.

CAUTION
Make sure the cap is tightened securely to prevent
fuel spillage in case of an accident.
 Use only a genuine Lexus fuel tank cap for
replacement. It is designed to regulate fuel tank
pressure.
In case the opener is not actuated

Pull the manual lever in the trunk toward the back.
This is used in case the fuel filler door cannot be opened
due to a discharged battery or other trouble.MOON ROOF

1Open 2Close
To slide open the moon roof, push the switch on the
ªSLIDE OPENº side briefly. The moon roof will fully
open. To stop partway, push the same side or ªTILT
UPº side briefly.
The sun shade can be opened or closed manually.
However, if you open the moon roof, the sun shade will
be opened with the moon roof.
To close the moon roof, push the switch on the ªTILT
UPº side. The moon roof will fully close. To stop
partway, push the same side or ªSLIDE OPENº side
briefly. To slide open the tilted±up moon roof:
Push the switch on the ªSLIDE OPENº side to tilt down
the moon roof. After releasing the switch, push the
switch on the same side again.

1Lower 2Tilt up
To tilt up the rear end of the moon roof, push the
switch on the ªTILT UPº side or on the ªSLIDE
OPENº side to lower it.
To operate the moon roof, the ignition key must be in the
ªONº position.
Key off operation: Even if the ignition key is turned to
the ªACCº or ªLOCKº position, the moon roof can be
operated until a front door is opened (or for 43 seconds).
To tilt up the slide±opened moon roof:
Push the switch on the ªTILT UPº side to cl ose the moon
roof fully. After releasing the switch, push the switch on
the same side again.
Operating the moon roof from outside
the vehicle
The moon roof can be closed or opened using an ignition
key.
Insert the ignition key into the key hole on either
front door.
To close the moon roof: Turn the key in the locking
direction and hold it.
After the door is locked, the moon roof begins to close.
To stop in the middle, return the key.
To open the moon roof: Turn the key in the unlocking
direction and hold it.
After the door is unlocked, the moon roof begins to open.
To stop in the middle, return the key.
