Open the hood. Remove the electrical connectorf rom the bulb by squeezing the
connector on both sides to unlock
the tab. Pull the connector straight
off.
Remove the rubber weather seal
by pulling on the tab.
If you need to change the head-
light bulb on the driver’s side,
remove the engine coolant
reservoir tank by pulling it out of
its holder.
Your car has halogen headlight
bulbs, one on each side. When
replacing a bulb, handle it by its steel
base and protect the glass from
contactwithyourskinorhard
objects. If you touch the glass, clean
it with denatured alcohol and a clean
cloth.
Theheadlightswereproperlyaimed
when your vehicle was new. If you
regularly carry heavy items in the
cargo area, readjustment may be
required. Adjustment of the
headlights should be perf ormed by a
Honda technician or other qualif ied
mechanic.

Halogen headlight bulbs get very hot
when lit. Oil, perspiration, or a scratch
on the glass can cause the bulb to
overheat and shatter.

Unclip the end of the hold-down
wire f rom its slot. Pivot it out of
the way and remove the bulb.
Insert the new bulb into the hole,
making sure the tabs are in their
slots. Pivot the hold-down wire
back in place and clip the end into
the slot.
Install the rubber seal over the
back of the headlight assembly.
Make sure it is right side up; it is
marked ‘‘TOP.’’
Push the electrical connector onto
the tabs of the new bulb. Make
sure it locks in place.
Turn on the headlights to test the
new bulb.
Reinstall the radiator reserve tank.Remove the socket from the
headlight assembly by turning it
one-quarter turn counterclockwise.
Pull the bulb straight out of its
socket.
Install the new bulb into the
socket.Insert the socket back into the
headlight assembly. Turn it
clockwise to lock it in place.
Testthelightstomakesurethe
new bulb is working.
If you are changing the bulb on
the driver’s side, start the engine,
turn the steering wheel all the way
to the right, and turn off the
engine. If you are changing the
bulb on the passenger’s side, turn
the steering wheel to the left.

Pull the inner f ender cover back.Remove the socket from the
headlight assembly by turning it
one-quarter turn counterclockwise.
Remove the burned out bulb f rom
thesocketbypushingitinand
turning counterclockwise until it
unlocks.Install the new bulb in the socket.
Turn it clockwise to lock it in place.
Insert the socket back into the
headlight assembly. Turn it
clockwise to lock it in place.
Testthelightstomakesurethe
new bulb is working.
Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to
remove the screw f rom the top of
the f ender. Put the inner f ender cover in place.
Tighten the screw securely.

Open the hatch.Determine which bulb, stop/
taillight, back-up light, side marker
light or turn signal is burned out.
Remove the socket f or that bulb
by turning counterclockwise.
Pull the cover back.
Loosen the nut holding the rear
light assembly. Remove the two covers. Remove
the two screws holding the rear
light assembly. Remove the light
assembly.
Push the new bulb straight into
the socket until it bottoms.
Pull the bulb straight out of its
socket.

Reinstall the socket into the light
assembly by turning it clockwise
until it locks.
Testthelightstomakesurethe
new bulb is working.
Reinstall the light assembly and
tighten the two screws and nut.
Reinstall the two covers.Push the new bulb straight into
the socket until it bottoms.
Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to
remove the two screws holding
the license plate light lens.
Pull the bulb straight out of its
socket.
Turn on the parking lights and
check that the new bulb is
working.
Reinstall the two screws and
tighten them securely.

Removethelensbycarefully
prying on the edge of the lens in
the middle with a f ingernail f ile or
a small f lat-tip screwdriver. Do not
pry on the edge of the housing
around the lens.
Remove the bulb by pulling it
straight out of its metal tabs.
Push the new bulb into the metal
tabs. Snap the lens back in place.Removethelensbycarefully
prying on the edge of the lens in
the middle with a f ingernail f ile or
a small f lat-tip screwdriver. Do not
pry on the edge of the housing
around the lens.
