Locking with inside lock button

Push in the lock button to lock and unlock the door.
When locked, the door cannot be opened with either the outside or inside door\
handle.
Closing the door with the lock button pushed in will also lock the door. Be
careful not to lock your keys in the vehicle. The door will not lock if the ke\
y
is left in the ignition switch when closing the front doors.
CAUTION
Before driving, make sure the doors are closed and locked,
especially when small children are in the vehicle. Along with
the proper use of seat belts, locking the doors helps prevent the
driver and passengers from being thrown out from the vehicle
during an accident. It also helps prevent the doors from being
opened unintentionally.

To lock all the doors simultaneously, push the power door lock switch on
the front side. Pushing on the rear side will unlock them.
The same switch is also equipped on the front passenger's side.

Whenever small children are in the vehicle, lock the rear door so that it
does not open from the inside. To do this, move the knob to the lock
position as shown on the label next to the knob.

HEADLIGHT SWITCH

To turn the lights on, twist the knob on the end of the lever.
FIRST CLICKSTOP: Only the parking, tail, license plate, side marker and
instrument panel lights turn on.
SECOND CLICKSTOP: Headlights also turn on.
THIRD CLICKSTOP (ºAUTOº): The headlights and all other lights
automatically turn on depending on the darkness of the surroundings.
Vehicles sold in U.S.A.: When the headlights are on, the headlight indicator
lights up in the instrument cluster.
Vehicles sold in Canada: When the tail lights are on, the tail light indicator
lights up in the instrument cluster. Manually twist the knob to the second clickstop to turn on the headlights
if they are needed immediately when entering a dark tunnel, parking
structure, etc.
When the headlight switch is turned to the first or second clickstop, the
brightness of the instrument cluster will be reduced slightly unless the
instrument panel light control knob is turned fully on.

The automatic light control sensor is on top of the driver's side instrument
panel.
Do not place anything on the instrument panel, and/or do not affix anything
on the windshield to block this sensor.
The lights automatically turn off when the driver's door is opened with the
ignition
key turned to the ºACCº or ºLOCKº position. To turn them on again,
turn the ignition key to the ºONº position, or turn the headlight switc\
h off and
then twist the knob until the first or second clickstop. If you are going to park
for over one week, make sure the headlight switch is off.

To raise or lower the windows, use the switch on each door. The
passengers' windows can also be controlled by the switches on the
driver's door.
The ignition key must be in the ºONº position. However, even if the ignition
key is turned to the ºACCº or ºLOCKº position, the window ca\
n be operated
until a front door is opened (or for about 45 seconds).

Operating the driver's switch
To lower the window, push the switch halfway down. Pull it up to raise
the window. The window glass moves as long as the switch is operated.
To fully lower the driver's window automatically, push the switch fully
down.
In automatic operation, the window will fully open even if you let go of\
the
switch. To stop the window partway, lightly pull the switch up and then
release it.
Operating the passengers' switches
To lower the window, push the switch down. Pull it up to raise the window.
The window moves as long as the switch is operated.

When the ºABSº warning light is on (and the brake system warning light is
off), the brake system operates conventionally but anti±lock brake system i\
s
not assisting brake performance so that the wheels could lock up during a
sudden brake or braking on slippery road surfaces.
(i) Open Door Warning Light
This light remains on until all the doors are completely closed.
(j) Rear Light Failure Warning Light
If this light comes on when the headlight switch is turned on (at the f\
irst or
second
clickstop), it indicates that one or more of the tail lights are burned\
out.
If it comes on when the brake pedal is depressed, one or more stop light\
s are
burned out.
Have defective bulbs replaced as soon as possible.
(k) ºTRAC OFFº Indicator/Warning Light
This light comes on when the ignition key is turned to ºONº, and will \
go off
after 3 seconds. This means that the system is operating properly.
If the light flashes, this indicates a malfunction in the traction control\
system.
Contact your Lexus dealer as soon as possible to service the vehicle.
(l) Low Washer Fluid Warning Light
This light comes on when the fluid level in the tank becomes nearly empt\
y.
Fill the tank as soon as possible.
(m) Low Fuel Level Warning Light
This light comes on when the fuel level in the tank becomes nearly empty. Fill
the tank as soon as possible.
On inclines or curves, due to the movement of fuel in the tank, the low fu\
el
level warning light may come on earlier than usual.
(n) Key Reminder Buzzer
This buzzer reminds you to remove the key when you open the driver's door
with the ignition key in the ºACCº or ºLOCKº position.

INTERIOR LIGHT

To turn on the interior light, slide the switch.
With the switch in the ºDOORº position, the light comes on when any of\
the
doors are opened. After all the doors are closed, the light remains on for ab\
out
15 seconds and then goes out.
However, in the following cases, the light goes out immediately:
1. All the doors are closed when the ignition key is in ºACCº or ºONº
position.
2. The ignition key is turned to ºACCº or ºONº when the light is s\
till on.
3. All the doors are locked when the light is still on.
4. One door is closed with the lock button pushed in while the other doors are\
locked.

For easy access to the ignition switch, the ignition switch light comes on
when any of the doors are opened.
The light remains on for about 15 seconds and goes out after all the doors \
are
closed. However, the light goes out immediately when all the doors are locked
or the ignition key is in the ºACCº or ºONº position.
CLOCK

The digital clock indicates the time with the ignition key at the ºACCº\
or
ºONº position. To reset the hour, press the ºHº button. To reset the
minutes, press the ºMº button. To adjust the time to the nearest hour,
press the º:00º button.
For example, if the º:00º button is pressed when the time is between 9:30 ±
9:59 or between 10:01 ± 10:29, the time will change to 10:00.
With the tail lights on, the brightness of the time indication will be re\
duced.
Once the electrical power source has been disconnected from the clock, the
time is automatically set to 1:00.

POWER OUTLET

The power outlet is designed for power supply for car accessories.
The ignition key must be in the ºACCº or ºONº position for the \
power outlet
to be used.
NOTICE
To prevent the fuse from being blown, do not use the electricity over
the total vehicle capacity of 12V/120W.
To prevent the battery from being discharged, do not use the power
outlet longer than necessary when the engine is not running.
Close the power outlet lid when the power outlet is not in use. Inserting
a foreign object other than the appropriate plug that fits the outlet, or\
allowing any liquid into the outlet may cause electrical failure or short
circuits.
GLOVEBOX

To open the glovebox door, pull the lever. To lock the glovebox door, insert
the master key and turn it clockwise.
With the tail lights on, the glovebox light will come on when the glovebo\

door is open.

CAUTION
To reduce the chance of injury in case of an accident or a
sudden stop, always keep the glovebox door closed while
driving.
