After the power supply to the radio and tape
player has been interrupted for an hour or more,
the anti-theft system will prevent the radio and
tape player from working, even if the powersupply is restored. Problem with the anti-theft
system can be found using the flow chart below.
When the ignition key is in the ACC or ON position and the POWER
button is pressed, does ªCODEº appear on the display?NoCheck and repair the connector or harness.

two seconds and then changes into ªcodeº to wait for the next

If the BAND button are pressed after the security code has been
input again by means of the memory select buttons, do the radio
and tape player then work?Ye sNormal (an incorrect code was input the first time)

If the security code is not accepted, is ª2 ERRORº displayed for
two seconds and then changes into ªcodeº to wait for the next
input?NoRepair or replace the radio and tape player.

input again by means of the memory select buttons, do the radio
and tape player then work?Ye sNormal (an incorrect code was input the second time)

If the security code is not accepted, ª3 ERRORº is displayed for
five seconds and then changes into ªOFFº. Then the security code
can not be input any more. To input the security code again, turn
the ignition switch to the ACC or ON position and wait for one
hour when ªOFFº is displayed. After ªOFFº disappears on the display
and changes into ªcodeº, the security code can be input again.
