Subkey
The master keys work in every lock. The subkey will not
open in the trunk, the glovebox and the armrest door in the
rear seat.
To protect things locked in the trunk or glovebox when you
have your vehicle parked, leave the subkey with the attendant.
Since the doors and trunk lid can be locked without a key, you
should always carry a spare master key in case you
accidentally lock your keys inside the vehicle.
For information on use of the wireless remote control type key,
see page 11.
key number plate
Keep the key number plate in a safe place such as your
wallet, not in the vehicle.
If you should require replacement or additional keys for any
reason, contact your Lexus dealer.
You should also put a copy of the key number with your
important papers.

KEYS AND DOORS
12However, if any door is not securely closed or the key is in the
ignition switch, locking cannot be performed by the remote
control switch.
The operational range of the wireless remote control is
approximately one meter (three feet) from the outside handle
of the driver’s door. The effective range may vary with different
conditions.
You have 30 seconds to open a door after using the remote
unlock feature. If a door is not opened by then, all doors will
automatically relock.
When any door is unlocked, pushing the remote control switch
locks all the doors. To unlock the doors, push the switch again.
Continued pushing of the remote control switch will not cause
repeated locking and unlocking of the doors. To reverse the
operation performed by the remote control switch, the switch
must first be released, then pressed again.
When pushing the remote control switch does not actuate the
doors, and you have checked that the wireless remote control
main switch is on and checked the battery in the master key,
consult your Lexus dealer.
NOTICE:
In the following cases, set the main switch to the “OFF”
position to prevent draining of the battery and theft of
the vehicle:
The vehicle is not used for a long period of time.
The master key with the remote control switch has
been lost. For vehicles sold in U.S.A.
