1462-2. Charging
●A maximum of 15 charging schedules
can be registered.
■To make sure that the charging
schedule function operates cor-
rectly
Check the following items.
●The clock is adjusted to the proper
time
●The calendar is set to the correct date
●Check that the power switch is turned
off
●After registering the charging sched-
ule, connect the AC charging cable
The charging start time is determined
based on the charging schedule at the
time that the AC charging cable was
connected.
●After connecting the AC charging
cable, check that the charging indica-
tor of the charging port flashes
(P.107)
●Do not use an socket that has a power
cut off function (including a timer func-
tion)
Use an socket that constantly supplies
electricity. For sockets where the
power is cut off due to a timer func-
tion, etc., charging may not be carried
out according to plan if the power is
cut off during the set time.
●The automatic adjustment of the clock
by GPS is set to on.
For details regarding setting clock, refer
to “Multimedia Owner’s Manual”.
■When the AC charging cable
remains connected to the vehicle
Even if multiple consecutive charging
schedules are registered, the next
charge will not be carried out according
to the charging schedule until the AC
charging cable is removed and recon-
nected after charging completes. Also,
when the hybrid battery (traction battery)
is fully charged, charging according to
the charging schedule will not be carried
out.
■“Climate Prep” or “Climate prepa-
ration”
●When the air conditioning-linked set-
ting is turned on, the air conditioning
operates until the set departure time.
Therefore, the air conditioning will
consume electricity and charging may
not complete by the set departure
time.
●If the hybrid battery (traction battery)
is fully charged, charging will not be
carried out, even if the charging
schedule is set. However, if “Climate
Prep” or “Climate preparation” is
turned on, the air conditioning will
operate only once when it nears the
time set in “Departure” or “Departure
time”. If this occurs, the air condition-
ing will consume electricity and the
remaining charge of the hybrid battery
(traction battery) when departing may
be decreased.
●When the doors are unlocked, the air
conditioning system does not operate.
■When charging schedules are
ignored
When the following operations are per-
formed while the charging schedule is
on standby, charging schedule is tempo-
rarily canceled and charging is started.
●When the Remote Air Conditioning
System (P.438) is operated
●When turning “My Room Mode” on
(P.164)
●When turning “Charge Now” on
(P.150, 156, 162)
●When an operation that temporarily
cancels charging using the charging
schedule is performed (P.138)
■Effects of outside temperature
When the charging mode is set to
“Departure” or “Departure time”,
charging schedule may be ignored due
to the outside temperature and charging
may start.
1702-2. Charging
setting clock, refer to “Multimedia owner’s manual”.
*2: This can only be set if GPS calibration of clock is turned off in the Multimedia Dis-
play settings.
■Charging starts, even though charging schedule is registered
Likely causeCorrection procedure
“Charge Now” is set to on
When charging according to the charging
schedule, set “Charge Now” to off.
(P.150, 156, 162)
charging schedule is set to offCheck that charging schedule is not set
to off. (P.149, 155, 161)
Charging mode is set to “Departure” or
“Departure time” and schedule departure
time is close to current timeWhen the system determines that there
is no time to finish charging by the set
scheduled departure time, it starts
charging. Check the charging schedules.
AC charging cable was removed and
reinserted while charging indicator of the
charging port was flashing
If the AC charging cable is removed and
reinserted while the charging indicator is
flashing, the charging schedule is can-
celed (P.138).
Temporarily remove the AC charging
cable, and then reconnect it.
The “My Room Mode” or the Remote Air
Conditioning System was operated
When the “My Room Mode” or the
Remote Air Conditioning System is oper-
ated, the system will start charging, even
if the charging schedule is registered. To
carry out charging using the charging
schedule, stop the “My Room Mode” or
the Remote Air Conditioning System,
and then reconnect the AC charging
cable.

■Fogging up of the windows
●The windows will easily fog up when
the humidity in the vehicle is high.
Turning “A/C” switch on will dehumid-
ify the air from the outlets and defog
the windshield effectively.
●If you turn “A/C” switch off, the win-
dows may fog up more easily.
●The windows may fog up if the recir-
culated air mode is used.
■While using “My Room Mode”
●It may not be possible to obtain the
intended defogging performance even
if is pressed. If the windows
need to be defogged before driving,
stop charging power and then press
.
●When the outside temperature is low,
heating may feel insufficient due to
restricted operation of the air condi-
tioning. Heating cannot be performed when it is -10°C (14°F) or less as the
gasoline engine cannot be started
during “My Room Mode”. If heating is
desired, stop charging and remove
the AC charging cable from the vehi-
cle.
■When driving on dusty roads
Close all windows. If dust thrown up by
the vehicle is still drawn into the vehicle
after closing the windows, it is recom-
mended that the air intake mode be set
to outside air mode and the fan speed to
any setting except off.
■Outside/recirculated air mode
●Setting to the recirculated air mode
temporarily is recommended in pre-
venting dirty air from entering the
vehicle interior and helping to cool the
vehicle when the outside air tempera-
ture is high.
●Outside/recirculated air mode may
automatically switch depending on the
temperature setting or the inside tem-
perature.
■Operation of the air conditioning
system in Eco drive mode
●In Eco drive mode, the air conditioning
system is controlled as follows to pri-
oritize fuel efficiency:
• Engine speed and compressor opera-
tion controlled to restrict heating/cool-
ing capacity
• Fan speed restricted when automatic
mode is selected
●To improve air conditioning perfor-
mance, perform the following opera-
tions:
• Turn off Eco drive mode (P.411)
• Turn off blower customization
(P.432)
■When the outside temperature falls
to nearly 0°C (32°F)
The dehumidification function may not
operate even when “A/C” switch is
pressed.
■Ventilation and air conditioning
odors
●To let fresh air in, set the air condition-

ing system to the outside air mode.
●During use, various odors from inside and outside the vehicle may enter into
and accumulate in the air conditioning system. This may then cause odor to be emitted from the vents.
●To reduce potential odors from occur-ring:
• It is recommended that the air condi- tioning system be set to outside air mode prior to turning the vehicle off.
• The start timing of the blower may be delayed for a short period of time immediately after the air conditioning
system is started in automatic mode.
●When parking, the system automati-
cally switches to outside air mode to encourage better air circulation throughout the vehicle, helping to
reduce odors that occur when starting the vehicle.
■Using the voice control system (if equipped)
Air conditioning system can be operated using the voice control system. For details regarding the voice control sys-
tem, refer to the “Multimedia owner’s manual”.
■Air conditioning filter
P.500
■Noise from air conditioning system
Approximately 90 seconds after the power switch turned to OFF, you may hear sound coming from air conditioning
system. This is the sound of a air condi- tioning system initialize and, it does not indicate a malfunction.
■Customization
Settings (e.g. A/C Auto switch opera- tion) can be changed.(Customizable features: P.607)
1Press the “AUTO” switch.
The dehumidification function begins to operate. Air outlets and fan speed are automatically adjusted according to the
temperature setting and humidity.
2 Adjust the temperature setting.
3 To stop the operation, press the
“OFF” switch.
WARNING
■Cautions for using “My Room Mode”
Do not leave children, people who need assistance, or pets inside the vehicle. The system may turn off
automatically and the interior tem- perature may become high or low, resulting in heat stroke, dehydration
or hypothermia. Failure to do so may result in death or serious injury.
■To prevent the windshield from fogging up
Do not use the windshield defogger
switch during cool air operation in extremely humid weather. The difference between the tempera-
ture of the outside air and that of the windshield can cause the outer sur-face of the windshield to fog up,
blocking your vision.
■When the outside rear view mir-
ror defoggers are operating
Do not touch the rear view mirror sur- faces when the outside rear view mir-
ror defoggers are on.
