Observe the following precautions regarding the head restraints. Failure to
do so may result in death or serious injury.
● Use the head restraints designed for each respective seat.
● Adjust the head restraints to the correct position at all times.
● After adjusting the head restraints, push down on them and make sure
they are locked in position.
● Do not drive with the head restraints removed.

Cargo and luggage
Take notice of the following information about storage precau-
tions, cargo capacity and load.
WARNING
■ Things that must not be carried in the luggage compartment
The following things may cause a fire if loaded in the luggage compartment:
● Receptacles containing gasoline
● Aerosol cans
■ Storage precautions
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may prevent t he pedals from being depressed properly,
may block the driver’s vision, or may re sult in items hitting the driver or pas-
sengers, possibly causing an accident.
● Stow cargo and luggage in the luggage compartment whenever possible.
● Do not stack cargo and luggage in the luggage compartment higher than
the seatbacks.
● When you fold down the rear seats, long items should not be placed
directly behind the front seats.
● Never allow anyone to ride in the luggage compartment. It is not designed
for passengers. They should ride in their seats with their seat belts prop-
erly fastened.
● Do not place cargo or luggage in or on the following locations.
• At the feet of the driver
• On the front passenger or rear seats (when stacking items)
• On the luggage cover
• On the instrument panel
• On the dashboard
● Secure all items in the occupant compartment.

The cooling and dehumidification function switches between on and
off each time is pressed.

When in automatic mode, the air outlet modes and fan speed levels
are not displayed in the air conditioning control panel display.
■Automatic mode indicator
If the fan speed setting or air flow modes are operated, the
indicator goes off. However, automatic mode for functions other
than that operated is maintained.
■Adjusting the temperature for driver and passenger seats sep-
arately (DUAL mode)
To turn on the DUAL mode, perform the following either operation:
●Press .
●Adjust the temperature setting of the passenger side with the
passenger side temperature adjustment knob.
The indicator illuminates when the DUAL mode is on.

Interior features
This function automatically controls the air conditioning airflow so that
priority is given to the front seats. When the front passenger seat is
not occupied, airflow may switch to only the driver’s seat. Unneces-
sary air conditioning is suppressed, contributing to increased fuel effi-
ciency.
Front seat concentrated airflow mode operates in the following situa-
tions.
●No passengers are detected in the rear seats
●The windshield defogger is not operating
While operating, illuminates.
■Manually turning front seat concentrated airflow mode on/off
In front seat concentrated airflow mode, directing airflow to the front
seats only and to all seats can be switched via switch operation.
When the mode has been switched manually, automatic airflow
control stops operating.
Press on the air conditioning operation panel and switch the
airflow.
●Indicator illuminated: Airflow to the front seats only
●Indicator off: Airflow to all the seats
■Switching between outside air and recirculated air modes
Press .
The mode switches between outside air mode and recirculated air mode
each time is pressed.
The indicator illuminates when the recirculated air mode is
selected.

Fan speed is adjusted automatically according to the temperature setting and
the ambient conditions.
Therefore, the fan may stop for a while until warm or cool air is ready to flow
immediately after is pressed.
■ Setting confirmation screen
■ Operation of automatic airflow control
● In order to maintain a comfortable interior, airflow may be directed to seats
without passengers immediately after the hybrid system is started and at
other times depending on the outside temperature.
● After the hybrid system is started, if passengers move around inside or
enter/exit the vehicle, the system cannot accurately detect the presence of
passengers and automatic airflow control will not operate.
■ Operation of manual airflow control
Even if the function is manually switched to directing airflow to only the
front seats, when a rear seat is occupied, it may automatically direct air-
flow to all seats.

Seat heaters
: If equipped
Seat heaters heat the front seats.
WARNING
●Care should be taken to prevent injury if anyone in the following categories
comes in contact with the seats when the heater is on:
• Babies, small children, the elderly, the sick and the physically chal-
lenged
• Persons with sensitive skin
• Persons who are fatigued
• Persons who have taken alcohol or drugs that induce sleep (sleeping
drugs, cold remedies, etc.)
● Observe the following precautions to prevent minor burns or overheating:
• Do not cover the seat with a blanket or cushion when using the seat
heater.
• Do not use seat heater more than necessary.
NOTICE
● Do not put heavy objects that have an uneven surface on the seat and do
not stick sharp objects (needles, nails, etc.) into the seat.
● To prevent 12-volt battery discharge, do not use the functions when the
hybrid system is off.
