While the power switch is in ON mode and the brake pedal depressed*, shift the
shift lever while pushing the shift release button on the shift knob.
Shift the shift lever while pushing the shift release button on the shift knob.
Shift the shift lever normally.
When shifting the shift lever between P and D, make sure that the vehicle is completely
stopped and the brake pedal is depressed.
*: For the vehicle be able to be shifted from P, the brake pedal must be depressed before the shift release button is pushed. If the shif t release button is pushed first, the shift lock
will not be released.

The HomeLink® wireless control system in your vehicle has 3 buttons which can be pro-
grammed to operate 3 different devices. Refer to the programming methods on the follow-
ing pages to determine the method which is appropriate for the device.

QBefore programming HomeLink®
O During programming, it is possible that garage doors, gates, or other devices may oper-
ate. For this reason, make sure that people and objects are clear of the garage door or
other devices to prevent inju ry or other potential harm.
O It is recommended that a new battery be placed in the remote control transmitter for
more accurate programming.
O Garage door opener motors manufactured after 1995 may be equipped with rolling
code protection. If this is the case, you may need a stepladder or other sturdy, safe device
to reach the “Learn” or “Smart” button on the garage door opener motor.

The garage door opener can be programmed using the HomeLink® to operate garage
doors, gates, entry doors, door locks, home lighting systems, security systems, and other
devices.

Pull the handle to unlock and open the
door.

Pull the handle to unlock the door. Pull
the handle a second time to open the
door.
When the door is unlocked, the inside
lock button will pop up.
Door Locks
The vehicle can be locked and unlocked using the entry function, wireless remote control
or door lock switches.

Turn the mechanical key clockwise to open.
1Ensure that the shift lever is in P and depress the brake pedal.
2Touch the Lexus emblem side of the
electronic key to the power switch.
When the electronic key is detected, a
buzzer sounds and the power switch
will turn to ON mode.
When the smart access system with
pushbutton start is deactivated in cus-
tomization setting, the power switch
will turn to ACCESSORY mode.
3Firmly depress the brake pedal and check that is shown on the multi-informa-
tion display.
4Press the power switch shortly and firmly.
In the event that the hybrid system still cann ot be started, contact your Lexus dealer.

Starting the hybrid system
If the electronic key battery becomes deplet ed, a warning message will be shown on the
multi-information display. Replace the battery with a new one. For instructions on replacing
the battery, refer to the “OWNER’S MANUAL”.
