QUICK TIP
Dual Clutch Transmission
(DCT)*
Some Kia vehicles are equipped with Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) for automatic transmissions
The following are unique driving tips for the Dual Clutch Transmission:
•To hold the vehicle stationary on an incline, the service brake or parking brake MUST be used or the gear shift MUST be in the (P) Park position If the vehicle is held stationary by applying the accelerator pedal on a slope, the clutch/transmission may overheat, resulting in damage
•Avoid aggressive launches on steep grades as this may result in an overheated clutch and transmission
•A slight time lag may be experienced at takeoff from standstill during aggressive acceleration maneuvers
If the clutch is overheating, an amber warning light* will be displayed in the instrument cluster Should this condition occur, pull over and place the vehicle in Park and idle the engine.
Refer to section 5 in the Owner ’s Manual for additional information on Automatic Gear Shift or DCT operation or call Kia Consumer Affairs for additional information

•
Avoid placing other metal items in the bin while charging as to not impede the charging area
•
Wireless charging technology allows for a device to be charged using inductive charging See your Owner ’s Manual for more detailed information
•
Inductive charging systems are less ef ficient than conventional charging through a cable As a result, higher device operating temperatures may be experienced during use
•
Charging Per formance: Device position on the wireless charging system can affect charging per formance Other factors that may affect the charging rate include foreign objects, such as coins or pens, and phone case thickness
41ALWAYS CHECK THE OWNER ’S MANUAL FOR COMPLETE OPER ATING INFORMATION AND SAFET Y WARNINGS
Wireless Smartphone Charging System*†2 2
•The smar tphone must be a compatible Qi cer tified phone with Qi function available Some smar tphone models are not QI cer tified, which may affect the availabilit y, speed or per formance of the wireless charging
•
For wireless charging to occur, all doors (excluding trunk) must be closed & the Smar t Key Fob must be detected inside the vehicle
•For best results, place smar tphone on the center of the charging pad
