To set cruising speed,accelerate your
vehicle to the desired speed, push down
the control switch to SET- and release it.
(The color of the cruise indicator changes to
green and set vehicle speed indicator comes
on.) Take your foot off the accelerator pedal.
Your vehicle will maintain the set speed.
. To pass another vehicle, depress the
accelerator pedal. When you release the
pedal, the vehicle will return to the
previously set speed.
. The vehicle may not maintain the set
speed when going up or down steep hills.
If this happens, manually maintain vehi-
cle speed. To cancel the preset speed,
use any of the
following methods:
. Push the CANCEL switch. The set vehicle
speed indicator will turn off.
. Tap the brake pedal. The set vehicle
speed indicator will turn off.
. Turn the MAIN switch off. Both the
MAIN switch indicator and set vehicle
speed indicator will turn off.
To reset at a faster cruising speed, use one
of the following three methods:
. Depress the accelerator pedal. When the
vehicle attains the desired speed, push
down the control switch to SET- and
release it.
. Push up and hold the control switch to
RES+. When the vehicle attains the
speed you desire, release the switch.
. Push up the control switch to RES+ and
then quickly release it. Each time you do
this, the set speed will increase by about
1 MPH (1.6 km/h).
To reset at a slower cruising speed, use one
of the following three methods:
. Lightly tap the brake pedal. When the
vehicle attains the desired speed, push
down the control switch to SET- and
release it.
. Push down and hold the control switch to
SET-. Release the switch when the
vehicle slows down to the desired speed. .
Push down the control switch to SET-
and then quickly release it. Each time you
do this, the set speed will decrease by
about 1 MPH (1.6 km/h).
To resume the preset speed, push up the
control switch to RES+ and release it. The
vehicle will resume the last set cruising speed
when the vehicle speed is over 25 MPH (40
km/h).
System temporarily unavailable
Under the following condition, a chime will
sound and the system control is automati-
cally canceled.
. When the vehicle slows down more than
8 MPH (13 km/h) below the set speed
. When the shift lever is shifted to the N
(Neutral) position
. When the parking brake is applied
. When the VDC (including the traction
control system) operates
. When a wheel slips

When the system is not operating properly,
the chime sounds and the system warning
(yellow) will come on.
Action to take:
If the warning comes on, park the vehicle in a
safe place. Turn the engine off, restart the
engine, resume driving and then perform the
setting again.
If it is not possible to set or the indicator
stays on, it may indicate that the system is
malfunctioning. Although the vehicle is still
driveable under normal conditions, have the
vehicle checked. It is recommended you visit
an INFINITI retailer for this service.
WARNING
Failure to follow the warnings and
instructions for proper use of the DCA
system could result in serious personal
injury or death.
.Always drive carefully and atten-
tively when using the DCA system.
Read and understand the Owner’s
Manual thoroughly before using the
DCA system. To avoid serious injury
or death, do not rely on the system to
prevent accidents or to control the
vehicle’s speed in emergency situa-
tions. Do not use the DCA system
except in appropriate road and traffic
conditions.
. This system is only an aid to assist the
driver and is not a collision warning or
avoidance device. It is the driver’s
responsibility to stay alert, drive
safely and be in control of the vehicle
at all times.
. As there is a performance limit to the
distance control function, never rely
solely on the DCA system. This sys-
tem does not correct careless, inat-
tentive or absent-minded driving, or
overcome poor visibility in rain, fog,
or other bad weather. Decelerate the vehicle speed by depressing the brake
pedal, depending on the distance to
the vehicle ahead and the surround-
ing circumstances in order to main-
tain a safe distance between vehicles.
. Always pay attention to the opera-
tion of the vehicle and be ready to
manually decelerate to maintain the
proper following distance. The DCA
system may not be able to decelerate
the vehicle under some circum-
stances.
. This system only brakes and moves
the accelerator pedal upward to help
assist the driver to maintain a follow-
ing distance from the vehicle ahead.
Acceleration should be operated by
the driver.
. The DCA system does not control
vehicle speed or warn you when you
approach stationary and slow moving
vehicles. You must pay attention to
vehicle operation to maintain proper
distance from vehicles ahead.
. The DCA system automatically de-
celerates your vehicle to help assist
the driver to maintain a following
distance from the vehicle ahead.

tion indicator (orange). If the driver’s foot is
on the accelerator pedal after the warning,
the system moves the accelerator pedal
upward to assist the driver to switch to the
brake pedal.
NOTE:
.The stop lights of the vehicle come on
when braking is performed by the DCA
system.
. When the brake operates, a noise may be
heard and/or vibration may be felt. This
is not a malfunction.
Overriding the system:
The following driver’s operation overrides
the system operation.
. When the driver depresses the accelera-
tor pedal even further while the system is
moving the accelerator pedal upward,
the DCA system control of the accel-
erator pedal is canceled.
. When the driver’s foot is on the accel-
erator pedal, the brake control by the
system is not operated.
. When the driver’s foot is on the brake
pedal, neither the brake control nor the
alert by the system operates.
. When the Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC)
system is set, the DCA system will be
cancelled.Approach warning
If your vehicle comes closer to the vehicle
ahead due to rapid deceleration of that
vehicle or if another vehicle cuts in, the
system warns the driver with the chime and
DCA system display. Decelerate by depres-
sing the brake pedal to maintain a safe
vehicle distance if:
. The chime sounds.
. The vehicle ahead detection indicator
(orange) blinks.
The warning chime may not sound in some
cases when there is a short distance be-
tween vehicles. Some examples are:
. When the vehicles are traveling at the
same speed and the distance between
vehicles is not changing
. When the vehicle ahead is traveling
faster and the distance between vehicles
is increasing
. When a vehicle cuts in near your vehicle
The warning chime will not sound when your
vehicle approaches vehicles that are parked
or moving slowly.
NOTE:
The approach warning chime may sound
and the system display may blink when the
radar sensor detects objects on the side of
the vehicle or on the side of the road. This
may cause the DCA system to decelerate or accelerate the vehicle. The radar sensor may
detect these objects when the vehicle is
driven on winding roads, narrow roads, hilly
roads or when entering or exiting a curve. In
these cases you will have to manually
control the proper distance ahead of your
vehicle.
Also, the sensor sensitivity can be affected
by vehicle operation (steering maneuver or
driving position in the lane) or traffic or
vehicle condition (for example, if a vehicle is
being driven with some damage).

When driving on some roads, such as wind-
ing, hilly, curved, narrow roads, or roads
which are under construction, the sensor
may detect vehicles in a different lane, or
may temporarily not detect a vehicle travel-
ing ahead. This may cause the system to
work inappropriately.
The detection of vehicles may also be
affected by vehicle operation (steering man-
euver or traveling position in the lane, etc.) or
vehicle condition.If this occurs, the system
may warn you by blinking the system
indicator and sounding the chime unexpect-
edly. You will have to manually control the
proper distance away from the vehicle
traveling ahead.SYSTEM TEMPORARILY UNA-
VAILABLE
Condition A:
Under the following conditions, the DCA
system is automatically canceled. The chime
will sound and the following message will
appear. The system will not be able to be set.
. “Currently unavailable/Currently not
available”:
— When the VDC system is off (To use
the DCA system, turn on the VDC,
then push the dynamic driver assis-
tance switch.)
For details about the VDC system,
see “Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system” (P.5-135).
— When the SNOW mode switch is ON (To use the DCA system, turn off the
SNOW mode switch, then turn on the
dynamic driver assistance switch.)
For details about the SNOW mode
switch, see “SNOW mode switch”
(P.2-57).
— When the 4WD shift switch is in the 4H or 4L position (for 4WD models)
— When the radar signal is temporarily interrupted
. “Not available: Poor Road Conditions”:
— When the VDC or ABS (including the traction control system) operates
Action to take:
When the conditions listed above are no
longer present, turn the system off with the
dynamic driver assistance switch. Turn the
DCA system back on to use the system.
. If the vehicle is parked in direct sunlight
under high temperature conditions (over
approximately 104 °F (40 °C)) and then
started, the DCA system may be deacti-
vated automatically and the “Unavail-
able: High Accelerator Temperature”
message will appear in the vehicle in-
formation display for a period of time.

FEB WITH PEDESTRIAN DETEC-
TION SYSTEM OPERATION
The FEB with Pedestrian Detection system
will function when your vehicle is driven at
speeds above approximately 3 MPH (5
km/h).
For the pedestrian detection function, the
FEB with Pedestrian Detection system op-
erates at speeds between 6 – 37 MPH (10 –
60 km/h).
If a risk of a forward collision is detected, the
FEB with Pedestrian Detection system will
firstly provide the warning to the driver by
flashing the vehicle ahead detection indica-
tor (yellow) in the vehicle information display
and providing an audible alert. In addition,
the system applies partial braking.
If the driver applies the brakes quickly and
forcefully after the warning, and the FEB
with Pedestrian Detection system detects
that there is still the possibility of a forward
collision, the system will automatically in-
crease the braking force.
If the driver does not take action, the FEB
with Pedestrian Detection system issues the
second visual (flashing) (red) and audible
warning. Then the system applies partial
braking.
If the risk of a collision becomes imminent,
the FEB with Pedestrian Detection system
applies harder braking automatically.
While the FEB with Pedestrian Detection
system is operating, you may hear the sound
of brake operation. This is normal and
indicates that the FEB with Pedestrian
Detection system is operating properly.
NOTE:
The vehicle’s stop lights come on when
braking is performed by the FEB with
Pedestrian Detection system.
Depending on vehicle speed and distance to
the vehicle or pedestrian ahead, as well as
driving and roadway conditions, the system
may help the driver avoid a forward collision
or may help mitigate the consequences of a
collision should one be unavoidable.
If the driver is handling the steering wheel,
accelerating or braking, the FEB with Pe-
destrian Detection system will function later
or will not function.
The automatic braking will cease under the
following conditions:
.When the steering wheel is turned as far
as necessary to avoid a collision.
. When the accelerator pedal is depressed.
. When there is no longer a vehicle,
pedestrian detected ahead.
If the FEB with Pedestrian Detection system
has stopped the vehicle, the vehicle will
remain at a standstill for approximately 2 seconds before the brakes are released.
When the brake pedal is depressed while the
brake is applied by the system, you may feel
the pedal effort is changed and may hear a
sound and vibration noise. This is normal and
does not indicate a malfunction. In addition,
the braking force can be increased by adding
the pedal effort.

TURNING THE FEB WITH PE-
DESTRIAN DETECTION SYSTEM
ON/OFF
Perform the following steps to turn the FEB
with Pedestrian Detection system on or off.1. Push the
button until “Settings”
appears in the vehicle information dis-
play. Use the
button to select “Driver
Assistance.” Then push the OK button.
2. Select “Emergency Brake” and push the OK button.
3. Select “Front” and use the OK button to turn the system on or off.
When the FEB with Pedestrian Detection
system is turned off, the FEB system warn-
ing light illuminates.
NOTE:
. The FEB with Pedestrian Detection
system will be automatically turned
ON when the engine is restarted.
. The Predictive Forward Collision Warn-
ing (PFCW) system is integrated into
the FEB system. There is not a separate
selection for the PFCW system. When
the PFCW system is also turned off.
FEB WITH PEDESTRIAN DETEC-
TION SYSTEM LIMITATIONS
WARNING
Listed below are the system limitations
for the FEB with Pedestrian Detection
system. Failure to operate the vehicle in
accordance with these system limita-
tions could result in serious injury or
death.
.The FEB with Pedestrian Detection
system cannot detect all vehicles or
pedestrians under all conditions.
. The FEB with Pedestrian Detection
system does not detect the following:
— Pedestrians that are small (for example, children), in a sitting
position, operating toys/skate-
boards, on scooters or in wheel-
chairs, or not in an upright
standing or walking position.
— Animals of any size.
— Obstacles (for example, cargo or debris) on the roadway or road-
side.
— Oncoming or crossing vehicles.
— Vehicles where the tires are diffi- cult to see or the shape of the rear
of the vehicle is unclear or ob-
structed.
— Parked vehicles.
. The FEB with Pedestrian Detection
system has some performance limita-
tions.
— If a stationary vehicle is in the vehicle’s path, the system will not function when the vehicle ap-
proaches the stationary vehicle
at speeds over approximately 50
MPH (80 km/h).
— Pedestrian detection will not function when the vehicle is driven
at speeds over approximately 37
MPH (60 km/h) or below ap-
proximately 6 MPH (10 km/h).
. For pedestrians, the FEB with Pedes-
trian Detection system will not issue
the first warning.
. The FEB with Pedestrian Detection
system may not function properly or
detect a vehicle or pedestrian ahead
in the following conditions:
— In poor visibility conditions (such as rain, snow, fog, dust storms,
sand storms, smoke, and road
spray from other vehicles).
— If dirt, ice, snow, fog or other material is covering the radar
sensor area or camera area of
the windshield.
— If strong light (for example, sun- light or high beams) enters the
front camera or a sudden change
in brightness occurs (for example,
entering a tunnel or driving in
lightning). — In dark or dimly lit conditions,
such as at night or in tunnels,
including cases where your vehi-
cle’s headlights are off or dim, or
the tail lights of the vehicle ahead
are off.
— When the direction of the camera is misaligned.
— When driving on a steep downhill slope, on roads with sharp curves,
and/or bumpy or dirt roads.
— If there is interference by other radar sources.
— When your vehicle’s position or movement is changed quickly or
significantly (for example, lane
change, turning vehicle, abrupt
steering, sudden acceleration or
deceleration).
— When your vehicle or the vehicle or pedestrian ahead moves quickly
or significantly such that the sys-
tem cannot detect and react in
time (for example, pedestrian
moving quickly toward the vehicle
at close range, vehicle cutting in,
changing lanes, making a turn,
steering abruptly, sudden accel-
eration or deceleration).
