ENGINE COOLANT
TEMPERATURE GAUGE
The gauge indicates the engine coolant tem-
perature. The engine coolant temperature is
within the normal range
O1when the gauge
needle points within the zone shown in the
illustration.
The engine coolant temperature varies with
the outside air temperature and driving
conditions.
CAUTION
If the gauge indicates coolant temperature
near the hot (H) end of the normal range,
reduce vehicle speed to decrease tempera-
ture. If the gauge is over the normal range,
stop the vehicle as soon as safely possible.
If the engine is overheated, continued op-
eration of the vehicle may seriously dam-
age the engine. For additional information,
see “If your vehicle overheats” (P. 6-14).

OIL CONTROL SYSTEM (if so
equipped)
The oil control system can be accessed in the
Maintenance portion of the vehicle informa-
tion display settings.
Engine oil information informs the distance
to oil change. Never exceed one year or
10,000 miles (16,000 km) between oil
change intervals for the 3.5L 6 cylinder
(VQ35DD engine model).

OPERATING TIPS
The sunload sensor, located on the top center
of the instrument panel, helps the system
maintain a constant temperature. Do not put
anything on or around this sensor.
• When the climate system is in automaticoperation and the engine coolant tempera-
ture and outside air temperature are low,
the air flow outlet may default to defroster
mode for a maximum of 2 minutes 30 sec-
onds. This is not a malfunction. After the
engine coolant temperature warms up, the
air flow outlet will return to foot mode and
operation will continue normally.

PRECAUTIONS ON CRUISE
CONTROL
1. ACCEL/RES switch
2. COAST/SET switch
3. CANCEL switch
4. ON/OFF switch
• If the cruise control system malfunctions, itwill cancel automatically. The SET indicator
in the vehicle information display will blink
to warn the driver.
• If the engine coolant temperature becomes excessively high, the cruise control system
will be canceled automatically. • If the SET indicator blinks, turn the ON/
OFF switch off and have the system
checked. It is recommended that you visit
an INFINITI retailer for this service.
• The SET indicator may sometimes blink when the ON/OFF switch is turned on
while pushing the ACCEL/RES, COAST/
SET or CANCEL switch. To properly set
the cruise control system, perform the
steps below.
WARNING
Do not use the cruise control when driving
under the following conditions:
• When it is not possible to keep the ve-
hicle at a set speed
• In heavy traffic or in traffic that varies in
speed
• On winding or hilly roads
• On slippery roads (rain, snow, ice, etc.)
• In very windy areas
Doing so could cause a loss of vehicle con-
trol and result in an accident.
CRUISE CONTROL OPERATIONS
The cruise control allows driving at a speed
between 25 - 89 mph (40 - 144 km/h) with-
out keeping your foot on the accelerator
pedal.
To turn on the cruise control, push the cruise
control ON/OFF switch on. The
indica-
tor (white) in the vehicle information display
will illuminate.
To set cruising speed, accelerate the vehicle
to the desired speed, push the SET- switch
and release it. The
indicator (green) in
the vehicle information display will illuminate.
Take your foot off the accelerator pedal.
Your vehicle maintains the set speed.
• To pass another vehicle, depress the accel-
erator pedal. When you release the pedal,
the vehicle returns to the previously set
speed.
• The vehicle may not maintain the set speed when going up or down steep hills. If this
happens, drive without the cruise control.
To cancel the preset speed, use one of the
following three methods:
• Push the CANCEL switch; the
indica-
tor (green) in the vehicle information display
goes out.
