There are USB/iPod® charging ports located
in 1st row, two in the front media pocket
below the climate controls and one in the
console box, in the 2nd row on the back of the
center console and in the 3rd row by the cup
holders. These ports will charge compatible
devices.NOTE:
• Not all of the USB/iPod® charging portswill operate with the display screen. Only
the USB connection ports located under
the climate controls will allow operation of
USB/iPod® devices through the audio
system.
• For best results, it is recommended to use the manufacturer cables, which are sold
separately. A USB Type-A to USB Type-C
adapter can also be purchased separately;
however, results may vary.CAUTION
• Do not force a USB device into the con-
nector. Inserting the USB device tilted or
up-side down into the connector may
damage the connector. Make sure that
the USB device is connected correctly
into the connector.
• Do not use a reversible USB cable. Using
the reversible USB cable may damage
the connector.

The interior lights will automatically turn on
and stay on for a period of time when:
• The doors are unlocked by the IntelligentKey, a key or the request switch while all
doors are closed and the ignition switch is
in the OFF position.
• The doors and/or liftgate is opened.
• The switch is individually pushed.
When the on switch
O1is pushed, the interior
lights illuminate.
When the door/off switch
O2is pushed, the
interior lights do not illuminate unless indi-
vidually pushed.
NOTE:
The footwell lights and step lights illuminate
when the driver and passenger doors are
open regardless of the interior light switch
position. These lights will turn off automati-
cally after a period of time while doors are
open to prevent the battery from becoming
discharged.
CAUTION
Do not use for extended periods of time
with the engine stopped. This could result
in a discharged battery.
CONSOLE LIGHT
The console lightO1will turn on in the follow-
ing conditions:
• The Intelligent Key approaches the vehicle.
• The ignition is placed in the OFF position.
The console light
O1will turn off or decrease
in brightness in the following conditions:
• The ignition switch is in the ON position and the door is closed.
• The doors are locked.
The console light brightness can be adjusted
with the illumination brightness control in the
vehicle information display.

NOTE:
Some hand-held transmitter (garage door
opener remote) may actually train better a
distance of 6–12 inches (15–20 cm). Keep
this in mind if you have difficulty with the
programming process.3. While the HomeLink® indicator light is
flashing in orange, press and hold the
hand-held transmitter button. Continue
pressing the hand-held transmitter button
until the HomeLink® indicator light
changes from orange to green and
“TRAINED” is displayed on the lower right
of the mirror (only Type A). You may now
release the hand-held transmitter button.
NOTE:
Some devices to be programmed may require
you to replace the step 3 with the cycling pro-
cedure noted in “Programming HomeLink®
for Canadian customers and gate openers”
(P. 2-120).
4. Wait until your garage door has stopped
moving before completing the next steps.
5. Press the HomeLink® button and observe the indicator light.
• If the indicator light remains constant green, your device should operate when
the HomeLink® button is pressed. At
this point, if your device operates, pro-
gramming is complete. • If the indicator light rapidly flashes in
green, firmly press, hold for two sec-
onds and release the HomeLink® but-
ton up to three times to complete the
programming process. Do not press the
HomeLink® button rapidly. At this
point if your device operates, program-
ming is complete. If the device does not
operate or operates but no door status
indicator with Two- Way Communica-
tion*1, continue with the next step of
the programming instructions.
6. At the garage door opener motor (security gate motor, etc.), locate the “Learn” or
“Set” button. This can usually be found
where the hanging antenna wire is at-
tached to the motor-head unit (see the
device’s manual to identify this button.).
The name and color of the button may
vary by manufacturer.
NOTE:
A ladder and/or second person may simplify
the following steps. Do not stand on your
vehicle to perform the next steps.

USING THE GARAGE DOOR
TWO-WAY COMMUNICATION
HomeLink® has the function of communicat-
ing with garage door opener systems. If your
garage door openers are compatible with
HomeLink®, the HomeLink® can:
• receive and display “closing” or “opening”status from your garage door opener.
• recall and display the garage door being “closed” or “opened”.
HomeLink® can receive the status from a
garage door opener at a range up to 820 ft
(250 m), but it varies depending on the envi-
ronment. You may need to reduce vehicle
speed to successfully receive the garage door
opener communication.
Using two-way communication
Press and hold the HomeLink® buttons (1
and 2) simultaneously for 2 seconds to recall
and display the last recorded garage door
status communicated to HomeLink®.
HomeLink® will display the last recorded sta-
tus for 3 seconds. If two-way communication programming is
successful, HomeLink® will display the status
of your garage door opener with the status
indicator
OA, which changes depending on
the status. The garage door opener status
indicator shows the garage door opener sta-
tus as follows:
Flashing in orange — Closing
Flashing in orange — Opening
Illuminating in green — Closed
Illuminating in green — Opened
The status indicator stops to flash after an
open/close signal is received or no signal is
received within 30 seconds from the garage
door opener.
PROGRAMMING HOMELINK®
FOR CANADIAN CUSTOMERS
AND GATE OPENERS
Canadian radio-frequency laws require
transmitter signals to “time-out” (or quit) af-
ter several seconds of transmission – which
may not be long enough for HomeLink® to
pick up the signal during training. Similar to
this Canadian law, some U.S. gate operators
are designed to “time-out” in the same
manner.

To clear all programming
1. Press and hold the two outer HomeLink®buttons until the indicator light begins to
flash in green and “CLEARED” is displayed
on the mirror, in approximately 10 sec-
onds. Do not hold for longer than 20
seconds.
2. Release both buttons.
HomeLink® is now in the programming mode
and can be programmed at any time begin-
ning with “Programming HomeLink®” - Step
1.
REPROGRAMMING A SINGLE
HOMELINK® BUTTON
To reprogram a HomeLink® button, com-
plete the following:
1. Press and hold the desired HomeLink® button. DO NOT release the button.
2. The indicator light will illuminate in green, and after 20 seconds it will begin to flash
in orange and “TRAINING” is displayed on
the mirror.
3. Release the HomeLink® button and pro- ceed with “ Programming HomeLink®” —
Step 3. For questions or comments, contact

or 1–800–355–3515.
The HomeLink® button has now been repro-
grammed. The new device can be activated
by pressing the HomeLink® button that was
just programmed. This procedure will not af-
fect any other programmed HomeLink®
buttons.
If a new device is not programmed to the
HomeLink® button, it will revert to the previ-
ously stored programming.
IF YOUR VEHICLE IS STOLEN
If your vehicle is stolen, you should change
the codes of any non-rolling code device that
has been programmed into HomeLink®.
Consult the Owner's Manual of each device
or call the manufacturer or dealer of those
devices for additional information.
When your vehicle is recovered, you will
need to reprogram the HomeLink® Univer-
sal Transceiver with your new transmitter
information.

Lockout protection
When the power door lock switch is moved to
the lock position and any door is open, all
doors will lock. With the Intelligent Key left in
the vehicle and any door open, all doors will
unlock automatically and chime will sound
after the door is closed.
These functions help prevent the Intelligent
Key from being accidentally locked inside the
vehicle.
AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS
• All doors lock automatically when the ve-hicle speed reaches 15 mph (24 km/h).
• All doors unlock automatically when the transmission is placed in the P (Park) posi-
tion or when the ignition switch is placed in
the OFF position, depending on the option
selected in the “Vehicle Settings” menu.
NOTE:The Auto Door Unlock function can be
changed using “Vehicle Settings” of the ve-
hicle information display. For additional in-
formation, see “Vehicle information display
7 inch (18 cm) Type A” (P. 2-22) or “Vehicle
information display 12.3 inch (21 cm) Type
B” (P. 2-44).
CHILD SAFETY REAR DOOR
LOCK
Child safety locks help prevent the rear doors
from being opened accidentally, especially
when small children are in the vehicle.
The child safety lock levers are located on the
edge of the rear doors.
When the lever is in the LOCK position, the
door can be opened only from the outside.
WARNING
• Radio waves could adversely affect elec-
tric medical equipment. Those who use a
pacemaker should contact the electric
medical equipment manufacturer for the
possible influences before use.
• The Intelligent Key transmits radio
waves when the buttons are pressed.
The FAA advises the radio waves may
affect aircraft navigation and communi-
cation systems. Do not operate the Intel-
ligent Key while on an airplane. Make
sure the buttons are not operated unin-
tentionally when the unit is stored for a
flight.
The Intelligent Key system can operate all the
door locks using the remote control function
or touching the lock sensor on the vehicle
without taking the key out from a pocket or
purse. The operating environment and/or
conditions may affect the Intelligent Key sys-
tem operation.
Be sure to read the following before using the
Intelligent Key system.

CAUTION
• Be sure to carry the Intelligent Key with
you when operating the vehicle.
• Never leave the Intelligent Key in the ve-
hicle when you leave the vehicle.
The Intelligent Key is always communicating
with the vehicle as it receives radio waves.
The Intelligent Key system transmits weak
radio waves. Environmental conditions may
interfere with the operation of the Intelligent
Key system under the following operating
conditions:
• When operating near a location where strong radio waves are transmitted, such as
a TV tower, power station and broadcast-
ing station.
• When in possession of wireless equipment, such as a cellular telephone, transceiver or
a CB radio.
• When the Intelligent Key is in contact with or covered by metallic materials.
• When any type of radio wave remote con- trol is used nearby.
• When the Intelligent Key is placed near an electric appliance such as a personal
computer.
• When the vehicle is parked near a parking meter. In such cases, correct the operating condi-
tions before using the Intelligent Key function
or use the mechanical key.
Although the life of the battery varies de-
pending on the operating conditions, the bat-
tery’s life is approximately two years. If the
battery is discharged, replace it with a new
one.
When the Intelligent Key battery is low, an
indicator illuminates in the vehicle informa-
tion display. For additional information, see
“Vehicle information display 7 inch (18 cm)
Type A” (P. 2-22) or “Vehicle information dis-
play 12.3 inch (21 cm) Type B” (P. 2-44).
Since the Intelligent Key is continuously re-
ceiving radio waves, if the key is left near
equipment which transmits strong radio
waves, such as signals from a TV and per-
sonal computer, the battery life may become
shorter.
For additional information, see “Battery re-
placement” (P. 8-24).
As many as four Intelligent Keys can be reg-
istered and used with one vehicle. For infor-
mation about the purchase and use of addi-
tional Intelligent Keys, it is recommended that
you visit an INFINITI retailer.CAUTION
Listed below are conditions or occurrences
which will damage the Intelligent Key:
• Do not allow the Intelligent Key, which
contains electrical components, to come
into contact with water or salt water.
This could affect the system function.
• Do not drop the Intelligent Key.
• Do not strike the Intelligent Key sharply
against another object.
• Do not change or modify the Intelligent
Key.
• Wetting may damage the Intelligent
Key. If the Intelligent Key gets wet, im-
mediately wipe until it is completely dry.
• Do not place the Intelligent Key for an
extended period in an area where tem-
peratures exceed 140°F (60°C).
• Do not attach the Intelligent Key with a
key holder that contains a magnet.
• Do not place the Intelligent Key near
equipment that produces a magnetic
field, such as a TV, audio equipment and
personal computers.
