Maintenance
1. Loosen the air cleaner cover
attaching clips and open the cover.
2. Wipe the inside of the air cleaner.
3. Replace the air cleaner filter.4. Lock the cover with the cover
attaching clips.
5. Check that the cover is firmly
installed.
Information
Be sure to insert the hinge (A) before
locking the cover with the cover
attaching clips.
Information
If the vehicle is operated in extremely
dusty or sandy areas, replace the element
more often than the usual recommended
intervals (refer to “Maintenance Under
Severe Usage Conditions” in this chap-
ter).
Do not drive with the air cleaner
filter removed. This will result in
excessive engine wear.
When removing the air cleaner
filter, be careful that dust or dirt
does not enter the air intake, or
damage may result.
Use HYUNDAI genuine parts.
Use of non-genuine parts could
damage the air flow sensor.

Blade replacement
When the wipers no longer clean
adequately, the blades may be worn
or cracked, and require replacement.
To prevent damage to the wiper
arms or other components, do not
attempt to move the wipers manu-
ally.
In order to prevent damage to
the hood and the wiper arms, the
wiper arms should only be lifted
when in the fully up position.
Always return the wiper arms to
the windshield before starting
your journey.
The use of a non-specified wiper
blade could result in wiper mal-
function and failure.
Front windscreen wiper blade
This vehicle has a "hidden" wiper
design which means that the wipers
cannot be lifted when they are in their
bottom resting position.
1. Within 20 seconds of turning off the
engine, lift and hold the wiper lever
up to the MIST position for about 2
seconds until the wipers move to
the top wipe position.
2. At this time you can lift the wipers
off the windscreen.
3. Gently put the wipers back down
onto the windscreen.
4. Turn the wipers to any ON position
to return the wipers to the bottom
resting position.
Type A
1. Raise the wiper arm and turn the
wiper blade assembly to expose
the plastic locking clip.
