Alexa Built-In
You can talk to Amazon Alexa through the audio system. With Alexa, you can:
• Stream music
• Check the weather
• Answer questions
• Control smart home devices
• And more with supported Alexa skills
Once you sign into Alexa in the vehicle, you
can use Alexa without opening the app.
You can trigger Alexa by doing any of the following:
• Say the wake word “ Alexa” from anywhere in the audio system.
• Press the (Talk) button on the steering wheel.
• Select the Alexa icon from inside the app.

1Using Alexa
Troubleshooting Tips:
•Make sure you are connected to Alexa via Wi-Fi
network, AT&T Vehicle Da ta Plan, or HondaLink.
•If using an AT&T Vehicle Data Plan, confirm that
your subscription is active.
•Make sure you are logged into your Amazon
account.
•If Alexa Built-in is using your phone’s Wi-Fi
Network, connecting CarP lay/Android Auto by
wireless will disable Alexa Built-In. To enable Alexa
Built-In and Carplay or A ndroid Auto at the same
time, connect your phone with an Apple or
Android OEM cable.
Deleting Your Alexa Settings from the Vehicle
For your privacy and securi ty, if you transfer the
vehicle to a third party, re set all vehicle settings to
default and delete all personal data. Also, remove the
vehicle from the list of de vices in your phone’s Alexa

Playing Bluetooth ® Audio
Your audio system allows you to listen to music from your Bluetooth-compatible
phone.
This function is available when the phone is paired and connected to the vehicle’s
Bluetooth ® HandsFreeLink ® (HFL) system.

1Playing Bluetooth ® Audio
Not all Bluetooth-enabled phones with streaming
audio capabilities are compatible with the system. For
a list of compatible phones:

•Canada: For more info rmation on smartphone
compatibility, call 1-855-490-7351.
It may be illegal to pe rform some data device
functions while driving.
Only one phone can be used with HFL at a time.
When there is more than one paired phone in the
vehicle, the first paired phone the system finds is
automatically connected.
The connected phone for Bluetooth® Audio can be
different.
If more than one phone is paired to the HFL system,
there may be a delay before the system begins to
play.
In some cases, the name of the artist, album, or track
may not appear correctly.
Some functions may not be available on some
devices.
If a phone is currently conne cted via Apple CarPlay or
Android Auto, Bluetooth® Audio from that phone

HondaLink® connects you to the latest information from Honda. You can connect
your phone wirelessly through Wi-Fi or Bluetooth®.

Use the following procedure to connect to HondaLink ®.
■To enable the HondaLink® service
You must consent to location sharing to enable the HondaLink ® service.
1. Select Home.
2. Select General Settings .
3. Select Privacy .
4. Select Data Sharing .
5. Select Enable .
■To Connect to HondaLink ®

If your vehicle has a telema tics control unit (TCU), you
can use HondaLink ® without connecting the phone.
The HondaLink® connect app is compatible with most
iPhone and Android phones.
If the system is connected to the HondaLink ® connect
app through Bluetooth® and another Bluetooth®
audio device is connected, the Bluetooth®
connection to the HondaLink ® connect app will be
severed.
Some cell phone carriers charge for tethering and
smartphone data use. Check your phone’s data
subscription package.
If there is an active connection to Appl e CarPlay or
Android Auto, HondaLink ® can only be connected
through Wi-Fi.

Apple CarPlay
If you connect an Apple CarPlay-compatib le iPhone to the system via the USB port
or wirelessly, you can use the audio/informat ion screen instead of the iPhone display
to make a phone call, listen to music, view maps (navigation), and access messages.

Only iPhone 5 or newer versi ons with iOS 8.4 or later
are compatible with Apple CarPlay.
We recommend using the latest OS.
Park in a safe place before connecting your iPhone to
Apple CarPlay and when launching any compatible
apps.
While connected to Apple CarPlay, calls are only
made through Apple CarPlay. If you want to make a
call with HandsFreeLink ®, turn Apple CarPlay OFF.

Android AutoTM
When you connect an Android phone to the audio system via the USB port or
wirelessly, Android Auto is automatically initiated. When connected via Android
Auto, you can use the audio/information scr een to access the Phone, Google Maps
(Navigation), and Google Now functions. When you first use Android Auto, a
tutorial will appe ar on the screen.
We recommend that you complete this tuto rial while safely parked before using
Android Auto.

Only Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or later versions are
compatible with Android Auto.
Bluetooth A2DP cannot be used while your phone is
connected to Android Auto.

Android Auto app from Google Play to your
smartphone.

Display Google Maps and use the navigation function just as you would with your
Android phone. When the vehicle is in motion, it is not possible to make keyboard
entries. Stop the vehicle in a safe location to undertake a search or provide other
inputs.
Only one navigation system (Google Built-In or Android Auto) can give directions
at a time. When you are using one system, directions to any prior destination set
on the other system will be canceled, and the system you are currently using will
direct you to your destination.
The audio/information screen shows you turn-by-turn driving directions to your
destination.

Make and receive phone calls as well as listen to voicemail.
• Honda
Select the Honda icon to go back to the home screen.

parked. When Android Auto first detects your phone,
you will need to set up your phone so that auto
pairing is possibl e. Refer to the instruction manual
that came with your phone.
You can use the method below to change Android
Auto settings after you have completed the initial
setup:

Use of user and vehicle information
The use and handling of user and vehicle information
transmitted to/from your phone by Android Auto is
governed by the Google’s Privacy Policy.
1 Connect Android Auto Wirelessly
Wireless Android Auto and AT&T Hotspot cannot be
used at the same time. When using Android Auto
and AT&T Hotspot at the same time, connect to
Android Auto with a USB cable.
