82 Instruments and Controls
INT :Move the lever up to INT for
intermittent wipes, then turn the band up
for more frequent wipes or down for less
frequent wipes.
OFF : Use to turn the wipers off.
1X : For a single wipe, briefly move the
lever down. For several wipes, hold the
lever down.
{Warning
In freezing weather, do not use the
washer until the windshield is warmed.
Otherwise the washer fluid can form ice
on the windshield, blocking your vision.
{Warning
Before driving the vehicle, always clear
snow and ice from the hood, windshield,
washer nozzles, roof, and rear of the
vehicle, including all lamps and windows.
Reduced visibility from snow and ice
buildup could lead to a crash. Clear snow and ice from the wiper blades
and windshield before using them. If frozen
to the windshield, carefully loosen or thaw
them. Damaged blades should be replaced.

Heavy snow or ice can overload the wiper
motor. If the wiper motor overheats, the
windshield wipers will stop until the motor
cools and the wiper control is turned off.

Wiper Parking
If the ignition is turned off while the wipers
are on LO, HI, or INT, they will
immediately stop.
If the windshield wiper lever is then moved
to OFF before the driver door is opened or
within 10 minutes, the wipers will restart
and move to the base of the windshield.
If the ignition is turned off while the wipers
are performing wipes due to windshield
washing, the wipers continue to run until
they reach the base of the windshield.
Windshield Washer
f: Pull the windshield wiper lever
toward you to spray windshield washer fluid
and activate the wipers. The wipers will
continue until the lever is released or the maximum wash time is reached. When the
lever is released, additional wipes may occur
depending on how long the windshield
washer had been activated. See
Washer
Fluid 0274 for information on filling the
windshield washer fluid reservoir.
Rear Window Wiper/Washer
The ignition must be on or in the accessory
mode to operate the rear window wiper/
washer.
Turn the end of the windshield wiper lever
to operate the rear window wiper/washer.
OFF : Turns the system off.
INT : Intermittent wipes.
ON : Slow wipes.

If Equipped with HUD System
The fog lamps is on the left stalk.
#:Turn the fog lamp band to#and
release it, to turn the fog lamps on or off.
Some localities have laws that require the
headlamps to be on along with the fog
lamps.
Some localities have laws that require the
high beams to be off when the fog lamps
are on.

If Equipped with HUD System
This feature adjusts the brightness of all
illuminated controls. The instrument panel
illumination control is to the left of the
instrument panel. Push the knob in all the way until it extends
out and then turn the knob clockwise or
counterclockwise to brighten or dim the
lights. Push the knob back in when finished.
The knob is functional at night, or when the
headlamps or parking lamps are on.
Courtesy Lamps
The courtesy lamps come on when any door
is opened,
Kon the remote key is pressed,
or when the vehicle is turned off. See Dome
Lamps 0127.

activation of the Wi-Fi hotspot is in the
Settings menu under Mobile Network

To shift out of P (Park), the engine must be
turned on, and the brake pedal must be
applied. SeeShifting out of Park 0206.
Stopping the Engine/Off (No Indicator
Lights) : When the vehicle is stopped, press
ENGINE START/STOP once to turn the
engine off.
If the vehicle is in P (Park), the ignition will
turn off, and Retained Accessory Power
(RAP) will remain active. See Retained
Accessory Power (RAP) 0205.
If the vehicle is in R (Reverse), D (Drive) or
L (Low), the vehicle will shift to P (Park), the
ignition will turn off, and Retained Accessory
Power (RAP) will remain active. See Retained
Accessory Power (RAP) 0205.
If the vehicle is in N (Neutral), the ignition
will return to accessory mode and display
the message SHIFT TO PARK in the Driver
Information Center (DIC). When the vehicle
is shifted into P (Park), the ignition system
will turn off.
The vehicle may have an electric steering
column lock. The lock is activated when the
vehicle is turned off and either front door is
opened. A sound may be heard as the lock
actuates or releases. The steering column
lock may not release with the wheels turned off center. If this happens, the vehicle may
not start. Move the steering wheel from left
to right while attempting to start the
vehicle. If this does not work, the vehicle
needs service.
Do not turn the engine off when the vehicle
is moving. This will cause a loss of power
assist in the brake and steering systems and
disable the airbags.
If the vehicle must be turned off in an
emergency:
1. Brake using a firm and steady pressure. Do not pump the brakes repeatedly. This
may deplete power assist, requiring
increased brake pedal force.
2. Shift the vehicle to N (Neutral). This can be done while the vehicle is moving.
After shifting to N (Neutral), firmly apply
the brakes and steer the vehicle to a
safe location.
3. Come to a complete stop and shift to P (Park).
4. Set the parking brake. See Electric
Parking Brake 0212. Press ENGINE
START/STOP to turn the vehicle off.{Warning
Turning off the vehicle while moving may
cause loss of power assist in the brake
and steering systems and disable the
airbags. While driving, only shut the
vehicle off in an emergency.
If the vehicle cannot be pulled over and
must be shut off while driving, press and
hold ENGINE START/STOP for longer than
two seconds, or press twice in five seconds.
Accessory Mode (Amber Indicator Light) :
This mode allows you to use some electrical
accessories when the engine is off.
With the ignition off, pressing the button
once without the brake pedal applied will
place the ignition system in accessory mode.
The ignition will switch from accessory
mode to OFF after five minutes to prevent
battery rundown.
ON/RUN/START (Green Indicator Light) : This
mode is for starting and driving. With the
ignition off and the brake pedal applied,
pressing the button once will turn the
ignition on. Once engine cranking begins,
release the button. Engine cranking will

ahead changing lanes. Your vehicle may
not stop and could cause a crash. Use
caution when using ACC. Your complete
attention is always required while driving
and you should be ready to take action
and apply the brakes.
Irregular Objects Affecting ACC
ACC may have difficulty detecting the
following objects:
.Vehicles in front of your vehicle that have
a rear aspect that is low, small,
or irregular
.An empty truck or trailer that has no
cargo in the cargo bed
.Vehicles with cargo extending from the
back end
.Non-standard shaped vehicles, such as
vehicle transport, vehicles with a side car
fitted, or horse carriages
.Vehicles that are low to the road surface
.Objects that are close to the front of your
vehicle
.Vehicles on which extremely heavy cargo
is loaded in the cargo area or rear seat
ACC Automatically Disengages
ACC may automatically disengage and the
driver will need to manually apply the
brakes to slow the vehicle if:
.The front camera is blocked or visibility is
reduced.
.The Traction Control System (TCS) or
StabiliTrak/ESC system has activated or
been disabled.
.There is a fault in the system.
.A DIC message displays to indicate that
ACC is temporarily unavailable.
The ACC indicator will turn white when ACC
is no longer active.
In some cases, when ACC is temporarily
unavailable, regular cruise control may be
used. See “Switching Between ACC and Regular Cruise Control”
in this section.
Always consider driving conditions before
using either cruise control system.
Notification to Resume ACC
ACC will maintain a follow gap behind a
detected vehicle and slow your vehicle to a
stop behind that vehicle.
If the stopped vehicle ahead has driven
away and ACC has not resumed, the vehicle
ahead indicator will flash as a reminder to
check traffic ahead before proceeding. In
addition, the left and right sides of the
Safety Alert Seat will pulse three times,
or three beeps will sound. To view available
settings from the infotainment screen, touch
Settings > Vehicle > Collision/Detection
Systems > Alert Type > Adaptive Cruise Go
Notifier.
When the vehicle ahead drives away, ACC
resumes automatically if the stop was brief.
If necessary, press RES+ or the accelerator
pedal to resume ACC. If stopped for more
than two minutes or if the driver door is
opened and the driver seat belt is
unbuckled, the ACC automatically applies the
Electric Parking Brake (EPB) to hold the
vehicle. The EPB status light will turn on.

the EPB, press the accelerator pedal.

Dolly Towing (Front-Wheel-Drive
Vehicles)
Tow the vehicle with the two rear wheels
on the ground and the front wheels on a
dolly.
To tow the vehicle from the front with the
rear wheels on the ground:1. Put the front wheels on the dolly.
2. Shift the transmission to P (Park). See Shifting Into Park 0205.
3. Set the parking brake.
4. Secure the vehicle to the dolly.
5. Follow the dolly manufacturer's instructions for preparing the vehicle and
dolly for towing. 6. Open the driver door and leave it open.
7. Shift to N (Neutral).
8. Release the parking brake and ensure it
is disengaged.
9. Turn off the vehicle and release the brake pedal.
10. The vehicle should continue to be in N (Neutral). If it is not, restart the engine
and repeat Steps 6–8.
11. Release the hood.
12. Lock the vehicle doors, with the driver door still open.
13. Exit the vehicle with the RKE transmitter.
14. Open the hood.
15. Disconnect the negative (–) terminal connector from the 12-volt battery.
16. Close and latch the hood.
17. Close the driver door.
Caution
If 105 km/h (65 mph) is exceeded while
towing the vehicle, it could be damaged.
Never exceed 105 km/h (65 mph) while
towing the vehicle.
