LANE KEEPING SYSTEM – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why is the feature not available (lane markings are gray) when I can see the lane markingson the road?
Your vehicle speed is less than 40 mph (65 km/h).
The sun is shining directly into the camera lens.
A quick intentional lane change has occurred.
Your vehicle stays too close to the lane markings for an extended interval of time.
Driving at high speeds in curves.
The last alert warning or aid intervention occurred a short time ago.
Ambiguous lane markings, for example, in construction zones.
Rapid transition from light to dark, or from dark to light.
Sudden offset in lane markings.

WHAT IS EXIT WARNING
Exit warning uses radar sensors to alertyou to traffic objects approaching youropen door.
HOW DOES EXIT WARNING
WORK
Exit warning is designed to detect trafficobjects such as vehicles, cyclists, scootersand motorcycles that approach yourvehicle from the rear and cross into the exitwarning zone. The exit warning zones arelocated along the left and right side of thevehicle and extend slightly past a fullyopen door.
Note:The system is not designed to detectanimals, slow moving pedestrians or anytype of static object.
EXIT WARNING PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: The system is not acrash warning or avoidance system.
WARNING: Always pay attentionto the traffic situation and the areaaround the vehicle.
WARNING: In cold and severeweather conditions the system may notfunction. Rain, snow and spray can alllimit sensor performance.
WARNING: If damage occurs in theimmediate area surrounding the sensor,have your vehicle checked as soon aspossible.
WARNING: You are responsible forcontrolling your vehicle at all times. Thesystem is designed to be an aid and doesnot relieve you of your responsibility todrive with due care and attention. Failureto follow this instruction could result inthe loss of control of your vehicle,personal injury or death.
WARNING: The system may notdetect objects with surfaces that absorbreflection. Always drive with due careand attention. Failure to take care mayresult in a crash.
EXIT WARNING LIMITATIONS
The exit warning system becomes activeonce you have started your vehicle and thevehicle is not moving. Exit warning is activewith the ignition ON.
Note:Do not use exit warning as areplacement for paying attention whenexiting your vehicle.
Note:The system does not prevent contactwith other vehicles by closing the doorsautomatically.
Note:The system may not inform and/oralert you if a traffic object is approachingtoo quickly or if the parking position preventsdetection.

WARNING: Never link two strapstogether with a clevis pin. These heavymetal objects could become projectilesif the strap breaks and can cause seriousinjury or death.
WARNING: Switch the ignition offbefore removing the recovery hook.Failure to do so could result in personalinjury.
WARNING: The recovery hook canbecome hot. Let the recovery hook cooldown before removing it. Failure to doso could result in personal injury.
Your vehicle has frame-mounted frontrecovery hooks.
Note:Do not apply a load to the recoveryhooks that is greater than the gross vehicleweight rating of your vehicle.
Before using recovery hooks:
•Make sure all attaching points aresecure and capable of withstandingthe applied load.
•Do not use chains, cables or tow strapswith metal hook ends.
•Only use recovery straps that have aminimum breaking strength two tothree times the gross vehicle weight ofthe stuck vehicle.
•Make sure the recovery strap is in goodcondition and free of visible cuts, tearsor damage.
•Use a damper device such as a tarp,heavy blanket or piece of carpet, andplace it over the recovery strap to helpabsorb the energy in the event thestrap breaks.
•Make sure the stuck vehicle is notloaded heavier than its gross vehicleweight rating specified on thecertification label.
•Align the tow vehicle and stuck vehiclein a straight line, within 10 degrees.
•Keep bystanders to the sides of thevehicle, at a distance of at least twicethe length of the recovery strap. Thishelps avoid injury from the hazard of arecovery hook or strap breaking, or avehicle lurching into their path.
TRANSPORTING THE VEHICLE
If you need to tow your vehicle, contact aprofessional towing service or yourroadside assistance service provider.
Your manufacturer produces a towingmanual for all authorized tow truckoperators. Have your tow truck operatorrefer to this manual for proper hook-upand towing procedures.

WARNING: Do not add engine oilwhen the engine is hot. Failure to followthis instruction could result in personalinjury.
Do not use supplemental engine oiladditives because they are unnecessaryand could lead to engine damage that thevehicle warranty may not cover.
1.Clean the area surrounding the engineoil filler cap before you remove it.
2.Remove the engine oil filler cap.
3.Add engine oil that meets ourspecifications. See Capacities andSpecifications (page 520).
4.Reinstall the engine oil filler cap. Turnit clockwise until you feel a strongresistance.
Note: Do not add oil further than themaximum mark. Oil levels above themaximum mark may cause engine damage.
Note:Immediately soak up any oil spillagewith an absorbent cloth.
INTELLIGENT OIL LIFE MONITOR
Under certain conditions the vehicle’sintelligent oil life monitor may determineyour oil requires replacement prior to yourgeneral service. Should this occur it isrecommended you replace your oil withintwo weeks or 500 mi (800 km) of beingalerted.
Your authorized dealer will be able toadvise you whether only an engine oil andfilter change is recommended or whetheryou should complete your general serviceinclusive of oil and oil Filter.
RESETTING THE INTELLIGENT OILLIFE MONITOR
1.Press the Menu button on the steeringwheel to enter the instrument clusterdisplay main menu.
2.Select Vehicle Maintenance.
3.Select Oil Life.
4.Select Reset Oil Life.
5.Press and hold the OK button until thesystem reset confirmation appears.

ENGINE AIR FILTER
CHANGING THE ENGINE AIRFILTER
WARNING: To reduce the risk ofvehicle damage and personal burninjuries, do not start your engine with theair cleaner removed and do not removeit while the engine is running.
Use the correct specification air filterelement. See Engine Air Filter (page 445).
Note: Failure to use the correct air filterelement may result in severe enginedamage. Resulting component damagemay not be covered by the vehicle Warranty.

REMOVING A REAR LAMPASSEMBLY - CHASSIS CAB
1.Switch all of the lamps and the ignitionoff.
2.Remove the screws and the lamp lensfrom lamp assembly.
3.To install, reverse the removalprocedure.
REMOVING A REAR LAMPASSEMBLY - PICKUP
1.Make sure the headlamps are off.
2.Open the tailgate to access the rearlamp assemblies.
3.Remove the bolts from the tail lampassembly.
4.Carefully pull the lamp assembly fromthe tailgate pillar by releasing the tworetaining tabs.
5.To install, reverse the removalprocedure.
CHANGING A HEADLAMP BULB
WARNING: Make sure the bulbshave cooled down before removingthem. Failure to follow this warning couldresult in serious personal injury.
Note:To access the right-hand side bulbs,remove the air intake pipe. See Changingthe Engine Air Filter (page 445).
For vehicles with diesel engines, to accessthe left-hand side bulbs, remove the washerreservoir filler tube.
