The power windows do not work duringremote start and the radio does not turnon automatically.
The parking lamps remain on and yourvehicle will run for 5, 10 or 15 minutes,depending on the setting.
Extending the Engine Running Time
To extend the engine running time durationof your vehicle during remote start, repeatsteps 1 and 2 while the engine is running.If the duration is set to 15 minutes, theduration extends by another 15 minutes.For example, if your vehicle had beenrunning from the first remote start for 10minutes, your vehicle continues to run nowfor a total of 30 minutes. You can extendthe engine running time duration to amaximum of 30 minutes.
Wait at least five seconds before remotestarting after the engine stops running.
Turning Your Vehicle Off After RemoteStarting
Press the button once. Yourvehicle and the parking lampsturn off.
You may have to be closer to your vehiclethan when starting due to ground reflectionand the added noise of your runningvehicle.
You can switch this feature on or off in theinformation display.

Replacement keys or remote controls canbe purchased from an authorized dealer.Authorized dealers can program remotecontrols for your vehicle.
PASSIVE KEY BACKUP
POSITION (IF EQUIPPED)
Place the passive key in the positionshown, with the buttons facing upward.Make sure that you place the key fob in thecenter of the cup holder.
The top or bottom end of the key must bepointing towards the front or rear of thevehicle.
With the key in this position, press thebrake or clutch pedal, then press the startbutton to switch on your vehicle.

LOCKING AND UNLOCKING
You can use the power door lock controlor the remote control to lock and unlockyour doors. This is also true for the tailgateif your vehicle comes with power tailgatelock. See Tailgate Lock (page 68).
Note:Always take your keys and lock alldoors when leaving your vehicle.
Note:Do not use the door latch assemblyto attach any accessory, such as handles orsteps, as this can cause damage to yourvehicle.

Door Lock Switch Inhibitor
The power door lock switch no longeroperates after 20 seconds. You mustunlock your vehicle with the remotecontrol, or switch the ignition on to restorefunction to these switches.
Remote Control
Unlocking the Doors - Two-StageUnlock
Press the button to unlock thedriver door.
Press the button again withinthree seconds to unlock all doors. Thedirection indicators will flash.
With the ignition off, press and hold boththe lock and unlock buttons on the remotecontrol for three seconds to changebetween driver door or all door unlockmode. The direction indicators will flashtwice to indicate a change to the unlockingmode. Driver door mode only unlocks thedriver door when you press the unlockbutton once. All door mode unlocks alldoors when you press the unlock buttononce. The unlocking mode applies to theremote control and Intelligent Access Key.
Locking the Doors
Press the button to lock alldoors. The direction indicatorswill flash.
Press the button again within threeseconds to confirm that all the doors areclosed. The doors will lock again, the hornwill sound and the direction indicators willflash if all the doors are closed.
Locking and Unlocking the Doorswith the Key Blade
Turn the top of the key toward the front ofyour vehicle once to lock all doors. Turnthe top of the key toward the rear of yourvehicle once to unlock only the driver door.
If the central locking function does notoperate, lock the doors individually usingthe key in the position shown.

Automatic Climate Control
Note: Adjusting the settings when yourvehicle interior is extremely hot or cold isnot necessary. The system automaticallyadjusts to heat or cool the interior to yourselected temperature as quickly as possible.For the system to function efficiently, theinstrument panel and side air vents shouldbe fully open.
Note:If you select AUTO during coldtemperatures, the system directs airflow tothe windshield and side window vents. Inaddition, the fan may run at a slower speeduntil the engine warms up.
Note:If you select AUTO during hottemperatures and the inside of the vehicleis hot, the system automatically usesrecirculated air to maximize interior cooling.Fan speed may also reduce until the aircools.

HEATED EXTERIOR MIRRORS
(IF EQUIPPED)
When you switch the heated rear windowon, the heated exterior mirrors turn on.
Note:Do not remove ice from the mirrorswith a scraper or adjust the mirror glasswhen it is frozen in place.
Note:Do not clean the mirror housing orglass with harsh abrasives, fuel or otherpetroleum-based cleaning products. Thevehicle warranty may not cover damagecaused to the mirror housing or glass.
CABIN AIR FILTER
Your vehicle is equipped with a cabin airfilter, which gives you and your passengersthe following benefits:
•It improves your driving comfort byreducing particle concentration.
•It improves the interior compartmentcleanliness.
•It protects the climate controlcomponents from particle deposits.
You can locate the cabin air filter behindthe glove box.
Note:Make sure you have a cabin air filterinstalled at all times. This prevents foreignobjects from entering the system. Runningthe system without a filter in place couldresult in degradation or damage to thesystem.
Replace the filter at regular intervals. SeeScheduled Maintenance (page 416).
