Remote Start (If Equipped)
WARNING: Do not start the enginein a closed garage or in other enclosedareas. Exhaust fumes are toxic. Alwaysopen the garage door before you startthe engine. Failure to follow thisinstruction could result in personal injuryor death.
Note: Do not use remote start if your fuellevel is low.
The remote start button is on theremote control.
This feature allows you to start yourvehicle from the outside. The remotecontrol has an extended operating range.
If your vehicle has automatic climatecontrol, you can configure it to operatewhen you remote start your vehicle. SeeClimate Control (page 117). A manualclimate control system will run at thesetting it was set to when you switchedyour vehicle off.
Many states and provinces haverestrictions for the use of remote start.Check your local and state or provinciallaws for specific requirements regardingremote start systems.
The remote start system does not work if:
•The ignition is on.
•The alarm system triggers.
•You disable the feature.
•The hood is open.
•The transmission is not in park (P).
•The vehicle battery voltage is too low.
•The service engine soon light is on.

Remote Starting Your Vehicle

2.Press the remote start button twice.The exterior lamps flash twice.

General Information
You can unlock and lock the vehiclewithout taking the keys out of your pocketor purse when your passive key is within3 ft (1 m) of your vehicle. Passive entry usesa sensor on the back of the front doorhandle for unlocking and a separate sensoron the face of each door handle for locking.
The system does not function if:
•The vehicle battery has no charge.
•The key battery has no charge.
•The key frequencies have jammed.
Note:The system is available on the frontdoors only.
Note:The system may not function if thekey is close to metal objects or electronicdevices, for example keys or a cell phone.
Note:If the system does not function, usethe key blade to lock and unlock yourvehicle. See Remote Control (page 52).
Note:The system also unlocks and locksthe luggage compartment.
Unlocking Using Passive Entry
With your passive key within 3 ft (1 m) ofyour vehicle, touch the unlock sensor onthe back of the door handle for a briefperiod and then pull on the door handle tounlock, being careful not to touch the locksensor at the same time, or to pull the doorhandle too quickly. The system requires abrief delay to authenticate your passivekey.

Flashing the Headlamp High Beam
Slightly pull the lever toward you andrelease it to flash the headlamps.
AUTOLAMPS
WARNING: The system does notrelieve you of your responsibility to drivewith due care and attention. You mayneed to override the system if it does notturn the headlamps on in low visibilityconditions, for example daytime fog.
When the lighting control is in theautolamps position, the headlamps turnon in low light situations, or when thewipers turn on.
The headlamps remain on for a period oftime after you switch the ignition off. Usethe information display controls to adjustthe period of time that the headlampsremain on.
Note: If you switch the autolamps on, youcannot switch the high beams on until thesystem turns the low beams on.
Windshield Wiper ActivatedHeadlamps
When you switch the autolamps on, theheadlamps turn on within 10 seconds ofswitching the wipers on. They turn offapproximately 60 seconds after you switchthe windshield wipers off.
The headlamps do not turn on with thewipers:
•During a single wipe.
•When using the windshield washers.
•If the wipers are in intermittent mode.
Note:If you switch the autolamps and theautowipers on, the headlamps turn on whenthe windshield wipers continuously operate.

If you set the switch to the door position,the courtesy lamp illuminates when youunlock or open any door. If you leave a dooropen with the ignition switched off, thecourtesy lamp goes off after some time toprevent your vehicle battery from losingcharge. To switch it back on, switch theignition on for a short time.
The courtesy lamp also illuminates whenyou switch the ignition off. It goes off aftera short time or when you start the engine.
If you set the switch to the all on positionwith the ignition switched off, the courtesylamp illuminates. It goes off after a shorttime to prevent your vehicle battery fromlosing charge. To switch it back on, switchthe ignition on for a short time.

Resetting the Memory of theElectric Windows - Vehicle withOne Touch Up/Down on DriverSide only
Note:The bounce back feature remainsturned off until you reset the memory.
In the event of a flat battery or after thebattery is disconnected from the vehicle,you must reset the memory for the driverwindow.
1.Open the window and then try to closeit using the one-touch feature.
2.Lift and hold the switch to the secondaction point until you fully close thewindow.
3.Lift and hold the switch for more thantwo seconds and release.
4.Open the window using the first actionpoint and try to close it automaticallyusing the second action point.
5.If the window does not open or closeautomatically when you press theswitch or lift it to the second actionpoint, repeat the procedure.
Safety Mode
Note:The anti-trap function is not activeduring this procedure.
If the system detects a malfunction, itenters a safety mode. The windows movea little at a time and then stop again. Closethe windows by pressing the switch againwhen the windows stop moving.
Contact an authorized dealer.
Bounce-Back
The window automatically stops andreverses some distance if it detects anobstacle when closing.
Overriding the Bounce-Back Feature
WARNING: If you overridebounce-back, the window does notreverse if it detects an obstacle. Takecare when closing the windows to avoidpersonal injury or damage to yourvehicle.
Proceed as follows to override thisprotection feature when there is aresistance, for example in winter:
1.Close the window twice until it reachesthe point of resistance and let itreverse.
2.Close the window a third time to thepoint of resistance. The bounce-backfeature is now disabled and you canclose the window manually. Thewindow will go past the point ofresistance and you can close it fully.
See an authorized dealer as soon aspossible if the window does not close afterthe third attempt.
Resetting the Bounce-Back Feature
Note:The bounce-back feature remainsturned off until you reset the memory.
