Assists you with parking in and out ofparking spaces.
HOW DOES ACTIVE PARK
ASSIST WORK
Active park assist uses sensors to detectparking spaces. The system controlssteering as required to maneuver into orout of a parking space.
ACTIVE PARK ASSIST
PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: You must remain inyour vehicle when the system turns on.At all times you are responsible forcontrolling your vehicle, supervising thesystem, and intervening if required.Failure to follow this instruction couldresult in the loss of control of yourvehicle, personal injury or death.
WARNING: The sensors may notdetect objects in heavy rain or otherconditions that cause interference.
WARNING: You are responsible forcontrolling your vehicle at all times. Thesystem is designed to be an aid and doesnot relieve you of your responsibility todrive with due care and attention. Failureto follow this instruction could result inthe loss of control of your vehicle,personal injury or death.
WARNING: Active park assist doesnot apply the brakes under anycircumstances.
WARNING: Do not use the systemwith accessories that extend beyond thefront or rear of your vehicle, for examplea trailer hitch or bike rack. The system isnot able to make corrections for theadditional length of the accessories.
SWITCHING ACTIVE PARK
ASSIST ON AND OFF
Press the active park assistbutton to bring up full screennotifications.
Press the soft keys on the touchscreen toswitch between parallel park in,perpendicular park in or parallel park outparking modes.
Cancelling Active Park Assist
To cancel parking assistance at any time:
•Press the active park assist buttonduring operation.
•Grab the steering wheel duringoperation.
•Drive above 22 mph (35 km/h) for ashort period of time when searching fora parking space.
•Drive above 6 mph (9 km/h) duringoperation.
•Switch traction control off.
ENTERING A PARALLEL
PARKING SPACE
1.Press the active park assist button.
2.Select parallel park.
Note:The system detects other vehiclesand curbs to find a parking space.

3.Use the turn signal lever to search fora parking space on the driver orpassenger side of your vehicle.
Note:The system defaults to searching fora parking spot on the passenger side of yourvehicle if you do not use the turn signal lever.
4.Drive your vehicle approximately 3 ft(1 m) away from and parallel to theother parked vehicles when searchingfor a parking space.
Note:A tone sounds and a messageappears in the information andentertainment display when active parkassist finds a parking space.
5.Press and hold the brake pedal.
6.Release the steering wheel and shiftinto reverse (R).
7.Use the accelerator and brake tocontrol your vehicle's speed whenparking. You are responsible forstopping your vehicle.
8.Active park assist is a multi-stepprocess and requires you to shift thetransmission multiple times. Follow theonscreen instructions until parking iscomplete.
Note:You can slow down your vehicle atany time by pressing the brake pedal.
Note:When parallel parking betweenobjects, the system will park closer to theobject in front of your vehicle to allow easieraccess to the luggage compartment.
ENTERING A PERPENDICULAR
PARKING SPACE
1.Press the active park assist button.
2.Select perpendicular parking.
Note:Active park assist does not recognizeparking space lines and centers your vehiclebetween objects.
Note:Active park assist backs your vehicleinto parking spaces.
3.Use the turn signal lever to search fora parking space on the driver orpassenger side of your vehicle.
Note:The system defaults to searching fora parking spot on the passenger side of yourvehicle if you do not use the turn signal lever.
4.Drive your vehicle approximately 3 ft(1 m) away from and perpendicular tothe other parked vehicles whensearching for a parking space.
Note:A tone sounds and a messageappears in the information andentertainment display when active parkassist finds a parking space.
5.Press and hold the brake pedal.
6.Release the steering wheel and shiftinto reverse (R).
7.Use the accelerator and brake tocontrol your vehicle's speed whenparking. You are responsible forstopping your vehicle.

Note:Active park assist aligns the front-endof your vehicle with the lane side of theobject next to it.
Note:When only one object is detected,the system allows enough distance to openthe door on either side.

EXITING A PARKING SPACE
Active park assist only assists leavingparallel parking spaces.

2.Select parallel park exit.
3.Use the turn signal to choose thedirection to exit the parking space.
4.Press and hold the brake pedal.
5.Release the steering wheel and shiftinto the instructed gear.
6.Release the parking brake.
7.Use the accelerator and brake tocontrol your vehicle's speed whenexiting the parking space. You areresponsible for stopping your vehicle.
8.Active park assist is multi-step processand requires you to shift thetransmission multiple times. Follow theonscreen instructions until operationis complete.
Note:After active park assist drives yourvehicle to a position where you can exit theparking space in a forward movement, amessage appears instructing you to take fullcontrol of your vehicle.
9.Take control of your vehicle.
Note:You can slow down your vehicle atany time by pressing the brake pedal.

Why does active park assist notoperate correctly?
The system is unable to detect avehicle, curb or object to park next toor in between. The system needsboundary objects to operate correctly.
Why does active park assist not searchfor a parking space?
You have switched traction control off.
Why does active park assist not searchfor a parking space?
The transmission is in reverse (R). Yourvehicle must be moving forward to beable to detect a parking space.
Why does active park assist not offera parking space?
The sensors could be blocked. Forexample, snow, ice or largeaccumulations of dirt. Blocked sensorscan affect how the system functions.
Why does active park assist not offera parking space?
The sensors in the front or rear bumpercould be damaged.

WHAT IS CRUISE CONTROL
Cruise control lets you maintain a setspeed without keeping your foot on theaccelerator pedal.
Requirements
Use cruise control when the vehicle speedis greater than 20 mph (30 km/h).
SWITCHING CRUISE CONTROL
ON AND OFF
WARNING: Do not use cruisecontrol on winding roads, in heavy trafficor when the road surface is slippery. Thiscould result in loss of vehicle control,serious injury or death.
The cruise controls are on the steeringwheel. See Steering Wheel (page 24).
Switching Cruise Control On
Press the button.
Switching Cruise Control Off
Press the button when thesystem is in standby mode.
The system also turns off when you switchthe ignition off.
Note:The set speed erases when youswitch the system off.
SETTING THE CRUISE
CONTROL SPEED
WARNING: When you are goingdownhill, your vehicle speed couldincrease above the set speed. Thesystem does not apply the brakes.
Drive to the speed you prefer.
Press either button to set thecurrent speed.
Take your foot off the accelerator pedal.
Note:The indicator changes color in theinformation display.
Changing the Set Speed
Press and release the button toincrease the set speed in smallincrements.
Press and hold the button to accelerate.Release the button when you reach yourpreferred speed.
Press and release the button todecrease the set speed in smallincrements.
Press and hold the button to decelerate.Release the button when you reach yourpreferred speed.
Note: If you accelerate by pressing theaccelerator pedal, the set speed does notchange. When you release the acceleratorpedal, your vehicle returns to the speed thatyou previously set.

Optimal system performance requires aclear view of the road by thewindshield-mounted camera.
Optimal performance may not occur if:
•The camera is blocked.
•There is poor visibility or lightingconditions.
•There are bad weather conditions.

Press the button when thesystem is in standby mode, orswitch the ignition off.
Note:You erase the set speed when youswitch the system off.
ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
AUTOMATIC CANCELLATION
The system may cancel if:
•The tires lose traction.
•You apply the parking brake.
The system may cancel and set the parkingbrake if:
•You unbuckle the seatbelt and openthe driver door after adaptive cruisecontrol stops your vehicle.
•Adaptive cruise control holds yourvehicle at a stop continuously for morethan three minutes.
The system may deactivate or preventactivating when requested if:
•The vehicle has a blocked sensor.
•The brake temperature is too high.
•There is a failure in the system or arelated system.
SETTING THE ADAPTIVE

Note:The gap setting for adaptive cruisecontrol with lane centering, operates in thesame way as normal adaptive cruise control.
LANE CENTERING PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: Do not use the systemwhen towing a trailer. Failure to followthis instruction could result in the loss ofcontrol of your vehicle, personal injury ordeath.
WARNING: Do not use the systemif any changes or modifications to thesteering wheel have been made. Anychanges or modifications to the steeringwheel could affect the functionality orperformance of the system. Failure tofollow this instruction could result in theloss of control of your vehicle, personalinjury or death.
Adaptive cruise control precautions applyto lane centering unless stated otherwiseor contradicted by a lane centeringprecaution. See Adaptive Cruise ControlPrecautions (page 210).
LANE CENTERINGREQUIREMENTS
You must keep your hands on the steeringwheel at all times.
Lane centering only activates when all ofthe following occur:
•Adaptive cruise control with lanecentering is enabled in your informationand entertainment screen.
•You have adaptive cruise control withstop and go enabled and set.
•The steering sensor detects your handson the steering wheel.
•The system detects both lane markingswhen driving on a straight road.
•Your vehicle is initially centered in thelane between two visible line markings.
Note:If the system does not detect validlane line markings, the system will remainin standby until valid line markings areavailables.
LANE CENTERING LIMITATIONS
Adaptive cruise control limitations applyto lane centering unless stated otherwiseor contradicted by a lane centeringlimitation. See Adaptive Cruise ControlLimitations (page 211).
Lane centering may not correctly operatein any of the following conditions:
•The lane width is too narrow or wide.
•The curve in the road is too small.
•The system does not detect theminimum required lane markings orwhen lanes merge or split.
•When the required steering effort tomaintain lane center exceeds the lanecentering system limit.
•When driving in areas that are underconstruction or when road work is inprogress.
•If the front windshield camera and/orthe front radar are blocked.
•When using a spare tire.
•Inclement weather conditionsincluding, but not limited to, high wind,heavy rain, and fog.
•Driving into direct sunlight.
•When modification to the steeringsystem has been made, includingalterations to the steering wheel.
•When towing a trailer.

Note:The system steering assistance islimited and may not have sufficient effortfor all driving situations and/or conditions,such as driving through tight curves ordriving through curves at high speeds.
Note:In exceptional conditions, the systemmay deviate from the lane center.
SWITCHING LANE CENTERING ONAND OFF
You must keep your hands on the steeringwheel at all times.
The controls are on the steering wheel.
Press the button.
The indicator appears in the instrumentcluster. When the lane centering system ison, the color of the indicator changes toindicate the system status.
You can override the system at any timeby steering your vehicle.
Note:The lane centering requirementsmust be met before you can enable thefeature. See Lane CenteringRequirements (page 217).
LANE CENTERING ALERTS
You must keep your hands on the steeringwheel at all times.
When the system is active and detects nosteering activity for a period of time, thesystem alerts you to put your hands on thesteering wheel. If you do not reactappropriately to the warnings the adaptivecruise control with lane centering systemcancels and slows your vehicle down toidle speeds while maintaining steeringcontrol. See Lane Centering AutomaticCancellation (page 218).
The system also alerts you if your vehiclecrosses lane line markings withoutdetected steering activity.
Note:The system could detect a light gripor light touch on the steering wheel ashands-off driving.
LANE CENTERING AUTOMATICCANCELLATION
When an external condition cancels thesystem, for example, no lane markingsavailable, a tone sounds and a messageappears in the information display.
If your vehicle starts to slowdown, you must provide steeringinput to the wheel and press andrelease the button to regain full systemperformance.
Automatic cancellation can also occur if:
•The lane becomes too wide or toonarrow.
•The system cannot detect valid lanemarkings.
•Lane markings cross over one another.
Note:The system disables until the nextkey cycle if your vehicle slows down due todriver inactivity twice within a key cycle.
LANE CENTERING MANUALCANCELLATION
When you perform the following actions,adaptive cruise control with lane centeringwill cancel:
•The brake pedal is pressed.
•Adaptive cruise control button isswitched off on the steering wheel.
The lane centering system is momentarilysuppressed when either of the followingactions are performed:

•Turn signal indicator is latched ortapped.
•You steer the vehicle out of lane.
LANE CENTERING INDICATORS
Illuminates when you switchlane centering on. The color ofthe indicator changes to indicatethe system status.
Gray indicates the system is on butinactive.
Green indicates the system is active andapplying steering torque assistance inputto keep your vehicle in the center of thelane.
Amber with an audible tone and then grayindicates a system automatic cancellation.

Adaptive cruise control with lane centering is about to cancel.You must immediately take full control of the vehicle.Resume Control
Adaptive cruise control with lane centering is in standby mode.When safe to do so, you can resume adaptive cruise controlwith lane centering by applying pressure on the acceleratorpedal.
