CHILD-PROTECTION DOOR LOCK

YSTEM — REAR DOORS
To provide a safer environment for small children
riding in the rear seats, the rear doors are
equipped with Child-Protection Door Lock system.
To Engage Or Disengage The Child Protection Door
Lock System

1. Open the rear door.

2. Insert the tip of the emergency key into the
lock and rotate to the lock or unlock position.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the opposite rear door.

NOTE:For emergency exit with the system engaged, move
the lock knob up (unlocked position), lower the
window, and open the door with the outside door
handle.
STEERING WHEEL
MANUAL TILT/TELESCOPING STEERING

OLUMN — IF EQUIPPED
This feature allows you to tilt the steering column
upward or downward. It also allows you to lengthen
or shorten the steering column. The tilt/
telescoping lever is located below the steering
wheel at the end of the steering column.

To unlock the steering column, push the lever
downward (toward the floor). To tilt the steering
column, move the steering wheel upward or
downward as desired. To lengthen or shorten the
steering column, pull the steering wheel outward
or push it inward as desired. To lock the steering
column in position, push the lever upward until
fully engaged.
WARNING!
Avoid trapping anyone in a vehicle in a collision.
Remember that the rear doors can only be
opened from the outside when the
Child-Protection locks are engaged (locked).

POWER TILT/TELESCOPING STEERING

OLUMN — IF EQUIPPED
This feature allows you to tilt the steering column
upward or downward. It also allows you to lengthen
or shorten the steering column. The power tilt/
telescoping steering column control is located
below the multifunction lever on the steering
column.

HEATED STEERING WHEEL —
I
F EQUIPPED
The steering wheel contains a heating
element that helps warm your hands in
cold weather. The heated steering wheel
has only one temperature setting. Once
the heated steering wheel has been turned on, it
will stay on until the operator turns it off. The
heated steering wheel may not turn on when it is
already warm. The heated steering wheel button is located on the
center of the instrument panel below the radio
screen, and within the Climate or Controls screen
of the touchscreen.
Press the heated steering wheel button once to
turn the heating element on.
Press the heated steering wheel button a
second time to turn the heating element off.
NOTE:The engine must be running for the heated
steering wheel to operate.

Do not adjust the steering column while driving.

skin because of advanced age, chronic illness,
diabetes, spinal cord injury, medication,
alcohol use, exhaustion, or other physical
conditions must exercise care when using the
steering wheel heater. It may cause burns
even at low temperatures, especially if used
for long periods.
Do not place anything on the steering wheel
that insulates against heat, such as a blanket
or steering wheel covers of any type or mate -
rial. This may cause the steering wheel heater
to overheat.

4. Push and release the lock button on the key
fob within 10 seconds.
NOTE:Your key fobs can be unlinked from your memory
settings by pushing the set (S) button, and within
10 seconds, followed by pushing the unlock button
on the key fob.
MEMORY POSITION RECALL
NOTE:If a recall is attempted when the vehicle is not in
PARK, a message will be displayed in the
instrument cluster display.
To recall the memory settings for driver one or two,
push the desired memory button (1 or 2) or the
unlock button on the key fob linked to the desired
memory position.
A recall can be canceled by pushing any of the
memory buttons during a recall (S, 1, or 2), or by
pushing any of the seat adjustment switches.
When a recall is canceled, the driver's seat and
telescopic steering column (if equipped) will stop
moving. A delay of one second will occur before
another recall can be selected.
SEATS
Seats are a part of the Occupant Restraint system
of the vehicle.

MANUAL ADJUSTMENT (FRONT SEATS) —

Manual Front Passenger Seat Forward/
Rearward Adjustment
Some models may be equipped with a manual
front passenger seat. The passenger seat can be
adjusted forward or rearward by using a bar
located by the front of the seat cushion, near the
floor.

It is dangerous to ride in a cargo area, inside
or outside of a vehicle. In a collision, people
riding in these areas are more likely to be seri -
ously injured or killed.
Do not allow people to ride in any area of your
vehicle that is not equipped with seats and
seat belts. In a collision, people riding in these
areas are more likely to be seriously injured or
killed.
Be sure everyone in your vehicle is in a seat
and using a seat belt properly.
WARNING!
Adjusting a seat while the vehicle is moving is
dangerous. The sudden movement of the seat
could cause you to lose control. The seat belt
might not be adjusted properly and you could
be injured. Adjust the seat only while the
vehicle is parked.
Do not ride with the seatback reclined so that
the shoulder belt is no longer resting against
your chest. In a collision you could slide under
the seat belt and be seriously or even fatally
injured. Use the recliner only when the vehicle
is parked.

While sitting in the seat, lift up on the bar located
under the seat cushion and move the seat forward
or rearward. Release the bar once you have
reached the desired position. Then, using body
pressure, move forward and rearward on the seat
to be sure that the seat adjusters have latched.

Adjustment — Recline
To adjust the seatback, lift the lever located on the
outboard side of the seat, lean back to the desired
position and release the lever. To return the
seatback, lift the lever, lean forward and release
the lever.

If Equipped
To fold the seatback to the flat load-floor position,
lift the recline lever and push the seatback
forward. To return to the seating position, raise the
seatback and lock it into place.

Fold the seat rearward to its original position, and
lock it into place. Then lift the head restraint until it
locks into place.

The second row seats can be folded flat to carry
cargo.
Pull upward on the release lever located on the
outboard side of the seat.

NOTE:You may experience deformation in the seat
cushion from the seat belt buckles if the seats are
left folded for an extended period of time. This is
normal and by simply unfolding the seats to the
open position, over time the seat cushion will
return to its normal shape.
WARNING!
Do not drive the vehicle with the second row
seats in the tumbled position. The second row
seats are only intended to be tumbled for entry
and exit to the third row seat. Failure to follow
these instructions could result in personal injury.
WARNING!
Be certain that the seatback is securely locked
into position. If the seatback is not securely
locked into position the seat will not provide the
proper stability for child seats and/or
passengers. An improperly latched seat could
cause serious injury.

EASY ACCESS FOR THIRD ROW
Either side of the rear seat can be tumbled forward
to allow passengers to easily access the third row
seats.

1. Pull upward on the release lever to release
the seat.

3. If your vehicle is equipped with a mini console, there is a stepping pad to allow passengers to
easily access the third row seats.

lock it into place. Then lift the head restraint until it
locks into place.

seats in the tumbled position. The second row

Folding Third Row
Both third row seats can be folded forward to
increase the cargo area. To lower either seat, pull
on the release handle located on the back of the
seat and lower the seat using the pull strap located
next to the release handle.

NOTE:The second row seats must be in their full upright
position, folded flat or tumbled when folding the
third row seats.
To raise the seat, pull the seat toward you using
the strap located on the back of the seat. Then lift
the head restraint until it locks into place.
NOTE:You may experience deformation in the seat

POWER ADJUSTMENT (FRONT SEATS) —

Some models may be equipped with eight-way
power driver and front passenger seats. The power
seat switches are located on the outboard side of
the seat. There are two switches that control the
movement of the seat cushion and the seatback.

Be certain that the seatback is securely locked
into position. If the seatback is not securely
locked into position the seat will not provide the
proper stability for child seats and/or
passengers. An improperly latched seat could
cause serious injury.

Head Restraints — Rear Seats
The head restraints on the outboard seats are not
adjustable. They automatically fold forward when
the rear seat is folded to a load floor position, but
do not return to their normal position when the rear
seat is raised. After returning either seat to its
upright position, raise the head restraint until it
locks in place. The outboard head restraints are
not removable.
The center head restraint has limited adjustment.
Lift upward on the head restraint to raise it or push
downward on the head restraint to lower it.

Head Restraint Removal — Rear Seats
The center head restraint can be adjusted when
occupied, or removed for Child Seat Tethering. To
remove the head restraint, raise it as far as it can
go by pulling upward. Then, push the release
button at the base of the post while pulling the
head restraint upward. To reinstall the head
restraint, put the head restraint posts into the holes and push downward. Then, adjust the head
restraint to the appropriate height.

WARNING!
All occupants, including the driver, should not
operate a vehicle or sit in a vehicle’s seat until
the head restraints are placed in their proper
positions in order to minimize the risk of neck
injury in the event of a crash.
Head restraints should never be adjusted
while the vehicle is in motion. Driving a vehicle
with the head restraints improperly adjusted
or removed could cause serious injury or
death in the event of a collision.
WARNING!
Sitting in a seat with the head restraint in its
lowered position could result in serious injury or
death in a collision. Always make sure the
outboard head restraints are in their upright
positions when the seat is to be occupied.
WARNING!
ALL the head restraints MUST be reinstalled in
the vehicle to properly protect the occupants.
Follow the preceding reinstallation instruc -
tions prior to operating the vehicle or occu -
pying a seat.
Sitting in a seat with the head restraint in its
lowered position could result in serious injury
or death in a collision. Always make sure the
outboard head restraints are in their upright
positions when the seat is to be occupied.
