Mode””
The power consumption inside the vehi-
cle is greater than the power being
charged to the hybrid battery (traction
battery), and the remaining charge of
the hybrid battery (traction battery) is
low.*
• “My Room Mode” will end unless the power consumption inside the vehicle is improved.
• To continue using “My Room Mode”, turn off the power of systems such as the air conditioning system and audio
system to increase the remaining charge of the hybrid battery (traction battery).*: The power balance status during “My
Room Mode” can be checked from the
remaining charge display screen for
the hybrid battery (traction battery)
displayed on the multi-information dis-
play.

QCautions for using “My Room Mode”
Make sure to observe the following
precautions.
Failure to do so may result in serious health problems or even death.
ODo not leave children, people who need assistance, or pets inside the
vehicle. The system may turn off automatically and the interior tem-perature may become high or low,
resulting in heat stroke, dehydration or hypothermia. Devices such as the wipers can also be used, which
may lead to mistaken operation and an accident.
OCheck the safety around the vehicle carefully before use.

QSuggestion to enable the
power back door (if equipped)
If the power back door system is
disabled on the screen and the
power back door switch on the
instrument panel is operated, a
suggestion message will be dis-
played asking if you wish to enable
the power back door system. To
enable the power back door sys-
tem, select “Yes”.
After enabling the power back door sys-
tem, press the power back door switch
again to open or close the power back
door.
QSuggestion to turn on the
headlights
If the headlight switch is in other
than or , and the vehicle
speed is 5 km/h (3 mph) or higher
for a certain amount of time when
the surroundings are dark, a sug-
gestion message will be displayed.
QSuggestion to turn off the
headlights
If the headlights are left on for a
certain amount of time after the
power switch has been turned off, a
suggestion message will be dis-
played.
QSuggestion to close the power
windows (linked to windshield
wiper operation)
If the windshield wipers are oper-
ated with a power window open, a
suggestion message will be dis-
played asking if you wish to close the power windows. To close all of
the power windows, select “Yes”.
QSuggestion to close the power
windows (driving at high
speeds)
If the vehicle speed exceeds a cer-
tain speed with a power window
open, a suggestion message will be
displayed asking if you wish to
close the power windows. To close
all of the power windows, select
“Yes”.

Operating the switch turns
on the lights as follows:
1 The front position, tail,
license plate and instrument
panel lights turn on.
2 The headlights and all lights
listed above turn on.
3 The headlights, daytime
running lights ( P.288) and all
the lights listed above turn on
and off automatically.
QAUTO mode can be used when
The power switch is in ON.
QDaytime running light system
To make your vehicle more visible to
other drivers during daytime driving, the
daytime running lights turn on automati-
cally whenever the hybrid system is started and the parking brake is released with the headlight switch in the
position. (Illuminate brighter than
the front position lights.) Daytime run- ning lights are not designed for use at
night.
QHeadlight control sensor
The sensor may not function properly if an object is placed on the sensor, or
anything that blocks the sensor is affixed to the windshield. Doing so inter-feres with the sensor detecting the level
of ambient light and may cause the automatic headlight system to malfunc-tion.
QAutomatic light off system
OWhen the light switch is in or
position: The headlights and front fog
lights turn off after the power switch is turned to ACC or OFF.
OWhen the light switch is in posi-
tion: The headlights and all lights turn off after the power switch is turned to
ACC or OFF.
To turn the lights on again, turn the power switch to ON, or turn the light
switch to position once and then
back to or position.
QLight reminder buzzer
A buzzer sounds when the driver’s door
is opened while the lights are turned on
with the power switch in ACC or OFF.

QAutomatic headlight leveling sys-
tem
The level of the headlights is automati- cally adjusted according to the number
of passengers and the loading condition of the vehicle to ensure that the head-lights do not interfere with other road
users.
Q12-volt battery-saving function
In order to prevent the 12-volt battery of the vehicle from discharging, if the light
switch is in position when the
power switch is turned to OFF, the 12- volt battery-saving function will operate
and automatically turn off all the lights after approximately 20 minutes.
When any of the following are per-
formed, the 12-volt battery-saving func- tion is canceled once and then reactivated. All the lights will turn off
automatically 20 minutes after the 12- volt battery-saving function has been reactivated:
OWhen the headlight switch is operated
OWhen a door is opened or closed
QIf “Headlight System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer” is displayed on the multi-information display
The system may be malfunctioning. Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota
authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.

The Automatic High Beam
uses an in-vehicle front cam-
era to assess the brightness of
streetlights, the lights of vehi-
cles ahead etc., and automati-
cally turns the high beams on
or off as necessary.

QLimitations of the Automatic
High Beam
Do not overly rely on the Automatic High Beam. Always drive safely, tak-
ing care to observe your surroundings and turning the high beams on or off manually if necessary.
