Q Automatic speed limiter cancellation
The set speed is automatically canceled in any of the situation s:
O Cruise control is activated.
O When the VSC system and/or TRC system is turned off by pressing the
VSC OFF switch.
Q If the “Speed Limiter Malfunction Visit Your Dealer” is displayed on the
multi-information display
Stop in a safe location, turn the power switch off and back on again, and then
set the speed limiter. If the speed limiter cannot be set, the system may be
malfunctioning. Even though the vehicle can be driven normally, have the
vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota a uthorized
repairer, or any r eliable repairer.
WARNING
QTo avoid operating the speed limiter by mistake
Keep the speed limiter switch off when not in use.
Q Situations unsuitable for speed limiter
Do not use the speed limiter in either of the following situati ons.
Doing so may result in control of the vehicle being lost and co uld cause a
serious or fatal accident.
O On slippery roads, such as those covered with rain, ice or snow
O On steep hills
NOTICE
When a warning is issued using the meter display and buzzer after exceed-
ing the set speed limit on a steep decline, depress the brake p edal to decel-
erate.

The Blind Spot Monitor on/off screen and indicator
The Blind Spot Monitor function and Rear Crossing Traffic Alert function
can be switched on and off using the multi-information display. (P. 247)
When switched on, the BSM indicator illuminates on the meter and the
buzzer sounds.
Rear Crossing Traffic Alert buzzer (Rear Crossing Traffic Alert func-
tion only)
When a vehicle approaching from the right or left rear of the vehicle is
detected, a buzzer sounds from the driver’s side instrument panel.
RCTA detection screen (RCTA function only)
If a vehicle approaching from the right or left at the rear of the vehicle is
detected, the RCTA detection screen will be shown on the multi-informa-
tion display.
The Blind Spot Monitor function and Rear Crossing Traffic Alert func-
tion can be enabled/disabled on the screen (P. 247) of the
multi-information display.
Once the systems are disabled, the systems will not be enabled until they
are enabled by the screen of multi-information display again. (The
systems are not automatically enabled even when the hybrid system is
restarted.)

QThe BSM outside rear view mirror indicators visibility
When under strong sunlight, the outside rear view mirror indicator may be dif-
ficult to see.
QThe Rear Crossing Traffic Alert buzzer hearing
The Rear Crossing Traffic Alert buzzer may be difficult to hear over loud
noises such as high audio volume.
QWhen “Blind Spot Monitor Unavailable” is shown on the multi-informa-
tion display
The sensor voltage has become abnormal, water, snow mud, etc., may be
built up in the vicinity of the sensor area of bumper (P. 438). Removing the
water, snow, mud, etc., from the vicinity of the sensor area bumper should
return it to normal. Also, the sensor may not function normally when used in
extremely hot or cold weather.
QWhen “Blind Spot Monitor System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer” is
shown on the multi-information display
There may be a sensor malfunction or misaligned. Have the vehicle
inspected by any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or
any reliable repairer.

The Toyota parking assist-sensor
can be enabled/disabled on the
screen ( P. 247) of the
multi-information display.
When on is selected, Toyota park-
ing assist-sensor indicator will
come on.
Once off is selected, the Toyota parking assist-sensor will not return to on
until it is turned to on by the screen of multi-information di splay again.
(The system does not automatically return to on even when the h ybrid sys-
tem is restarted.)
: If equipped
The distance from your vehicle to nearby obstacles when paral-
lel parking or maneuvering into a garage is measured by the
sensors and communicated via the displays and a buzzer.
Always check the surrounding area when using this system.
