*1: Brake system warning buzzer:
When there is a possible problem that could affect braking perf ormance,
the warning light will come on and a warning buzzer will sound.
*2: Low engine oil pressure warning buzzer:
A buzzer also sounds continuously for approximately 30 seconds at maxi-
mum in addition to the low engine oil pressure warning light wh en the
“READY” indicator is illuminated.
*3: Open door warning buzzer:
The open door warning buzzer sounds to alert one or more of the doors is
not fully closed (with the vehicle having reached a speed of 5 k m/h
[3 mph]).
*4: Driver’s and front passenger’s seat belt warning buzzer:
The driver’s and front passenger’s seat belt warning buzzer sou nds to alert
the driver and front passenger that his or her seat belt is not fastened. If
the seat belt is unfastened, the buzzer sounds intermittently f or a certain
period of time after the vehicle reaches a certain speed.
*5: Rear passengers’ seat belt warning buzzer:
The rear passengers’ seat belt warning buzzer sounds to alert t he rear
passenger that his or her seat belt is not fastened. If the sea t belt is unfas-
tened, the buzzer sounds intermittently for a certain period of time, after
the seat belt is fastened and unfastened and the vehicle reache s a certain
speed.

Q Front passenger detection sensor, seat belt reminder and warning
buzzer
O If luggage is placed on the front passenger seat, the front passenger detec-
tion sensor may cause the warning light to flash and the warnin g buzzer to
sound even if a passenger is not sitting in the seat.
O If a cushion is placed on the seat, the sensor may not detect a passenger,
and the warning light may not operate properly.
Q Electric power steering system warning light (warning buzzer)
When the 12-volt battery charge becomes insufficient or the vol tage tempo-
rarily drops, the electric power steering system warning light may come on
and the warning buzzer may sound.
Q If the malfunction indicator lamp comes on while driving
The malfunction indicator lamp will come on if the fuel tank be comes com-
pletely empty. If the fuel tank is empty, refuel the vehicle im mediately. The
malfunction indicator lamp will go off after several trips.
If the malfunction indicator lamp does not go off, contact any authorized
Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer as soon
as possible.

QWhen the electric power steering system warning light comes on
When the light comes on yellow, the assist to the power steerin g is
restricted. When the light comes on red, the assist to the powe r steering is
lost and handling operations of the steering wheel become extre mely
heavy. When steering wheel operations are heavier than usual, g rip the
steering wheel firmly and operate it using more force than usua l.
Q If the tire pressure warning light comes on
Be sure to observe the following precautions. Failure to do so could cause a
loss of vehicle control and result in death or serious injury.
O Stop your vehicle in a safe place as soon as possible. Adjust the tire infla-
tion pressure immediately.
O If the tire pressure warning light comes on even after tire inflation pressure
adjustment, it is probable that you have a flat tire. Check the tires. If a tire
is flat, repair the flat tire by using emergency tire puncture repair kit.
O Avoid abrupt maneuvering and braking. If the vehicle tires deteriorate, you
could lose control of the steering wheel or the brakes.
Q If a blowout or sudden air leakage should occur
The tire pressure warning system may not activate immediately.
NOTICE
Q To ensure the tire pressure warning system operates properly
Do not install tires with different specifications or makers, a s the tire pres-
sure warning system may not operate properly.

WARNING
QWhen fixing the flat tire
O Stop your vehicle in a safe and flat area.
O Do not touch the wheels or the area around the brakes immediately after
the vehicle has been driven.
After the vehicle has been driven, the wheels and the area arou nd the
brakes may be extremely hot. Touching these areas with hands, f eet or
other body parts may result in burns.
O Connect the valve and hose securely with the tire installed on the vehicle.
If the hose is not properly connected to the valve, air leakage may occur
as sealant may be sprayed out.
O If the hose comes off the valve while inflating the tire, there is a risk that
the hose will move abruptly due to air pressure.
O After inflation of the tire has completed, the sealant may splatter when the
hose is disconnected or some air is let out of the tire.
O Follow the operation procedure to repair the tire. If the procedures not fol-
lowed, the sealant may spray out.
O Keep back from the tire while it is being repaired, as there is a chance of it
bursting while the repair operation is being performed. If you notice any
cracks or deformation of the tire, turn off the compressor swit ch and stop
the repair operation immediately.
O The repair kit may overheat if operated for a long period of time. Do not
operate the repair kit continuously for more than 40 minutes.
O Parts of the repair kit become hot during operation. Be careful handling the
repair kit during and after operation. Do not touch the metal p art connect-
ing the bottle and the compressor. It will be extremely hot.
O Do not attach the vehicle speed warning sticker to an area other than the
one indicated. If the sticker is attached to an area where an S RS airbag is
located, such as the pad of the steering wheel, it may prevent the SRS air-
bag from operating properly.

When trouble arises
WARNING
QDriving to spread the liquid sealant evenly
Observe the following precautions to reduce the risk of acciden ts.
Failing to do so may result in a loss of vehicle control and ca use death or
serious injury.
O Drive the vehicle carefully at a low speed. Be especially careful when turn-
ing and cornering.
O If the vehicle does not drive straight or you feel a pull through the steering
wheel, stop the vehicle and check the following.
• Tire condition. The tire may have separated from the wheel.
• Tire inflation pressure. If the tire inflation pressure is 130 kPa (1.3 kgf/cm2
or bar, 19 psi) or less, the tire may be severely damaged.
NOTICE
QWhen performing an emergency repair
O A tire should only be repaired with the emergency tire puncture repair kit if
the damage is caused by a sharp object such as nail or screw pa ssing
through the tire tread.
Do not remove the sharp object from the tire. Removing the obje ct may
widen the opening and disenable em ergency repair with the repair kit.
O The repair kit is not waterproof. Make sure that the repair kit is not
exposed to water, such as when it is being used in the rain.
O Do not put the repair kit directly onto dusty ground such as sand at the
side of the road. If the repair kit vacuums up dust etc., a mal function may
occur.
O Make sure the sealant bottle of the repair kit is in a vertical position. The
repair kit does not operate properly when it is laid.
Q Precautions for the emergency tire puncture repair kit
O The repair kit power source should be 12 V DC suitable for vehicle use. Do
not connect the repair kit to any other source.
O If fuel splatters on the repair kit, the repair kit may deteriorate. Take care
not to allow fuel to contact it.
O Place the repair kit in a storage to prevent it from being exposed to dirt or
water.
O Store the repair kit in the luggage compartment out of reach of children.
O Do not disassemble or modify the repair kit. Do not subject parts such as
the air pressure indicator to impacts. This may cause a malfunc tion.
