When trouble arises
Install the valve cap onto the valve of the repaired tire.
Disconnect the hose from the
bottle and attach the cap to the
bottle.
Place the bottle in the original bag
and zip it.
Temporarily store the bottle and compressor in the luggage com-
partment.
To spread the liquid sealant evenly within the tire, immediatel y drive
safely for about 5 km (3 miles) below 80 km/h (50 mph).
After driving for about 5 km (3
miles), stop your vehicle in a
safe place on a hard, flat sur-
face and connect the compres-
sor.

When trouble arises
WARNING
■Do not drive the vehicle with a flat tire
Do not continue driving with a flat tire.
Driving even a short distance with a flat tire can damage the t ire and the
wheel beyond repair.
Driving with a flat tire may cause a circumferential groove on the side wall.
In such a case, the tire may e xplode when using a repair kit.
■ Caution while driving
● Store the repair kit in the luggage compartment.
Injuries may result in the event of an accident or sudden braki ng.
● The repair kit is exclusively only for your vehicle.
Do not use repair kit on other vehicles, which could lead to an accident
causing death or serious injury.
● Do not use repair kit for tires that are different size than the original ones,
or for any other purpose. If the tires have not been completely repaired, it
could lead to an accident caus ing death or serious injury.
■ Precautions for use of the sealant
● Ingesting the sealant is hazardous to your health. If you ingest sealant,
consume as much water as possible, and then immediately consult a doc-
tor.
● If sealant gets in eyes or adheres to skin, immediately wash it off with
water. If discomfort persists, consult a doctor.

When trouble arises
WARNING
■Driving to spread the liquid sealant evenly
Observe the following precautions to reduce the risk of acciden ts.
Failing to do so may result in a loss of vehicle control and ca use death or
serious injury.
● Drive the vehicle carefully at a low speed. Be especially careful when turn-
ing and cornering.
● If the vehicle does not drive straight or you feel a pull through the steering
wheel, stop the vehicle and check the following.
• Tire condition. The tire may have separated from the wheel.
• Tire inflation pressure. If the tire inflation pressure is 130 kPa (1.3 kgf/cm2
or bar, 19 psi) or less, the tire may be severely damaged.

When trouble arises
If you have a flat tire (vehicles with a spare tire)
●Stop the vehicle in a safe place on a hard, flat surface.
● Set the parking brake.
● Shift the shift lever to P.
● Stop the hybrid system.
● Turn on the emergency flashers. (P. 670)
Your vehicle is equipped with a spare tire. The flat tire can be
replaced with the spare tire.

■The compact spare tire (if equipped)
● The compact spare tire is identified by the label “TEMPORARY USE ONLY”
on the tire sidewall.
Use the compact spare tire temporarily, and only in an emergenc y.
● Make sure to check the tire inflation pressure of the compact spare tire.
( P. 776)
■ When using the compact spare tire (if equipped)
As the compact spare tire is not equipped with a tire pressure warning valve
and transmitter, low inflation pressure of the spare tire will not be indicated by
the tire pressure warning system. Also, if you replace the comp act spare tire
after the tire pressure warning light comes on, the light remai ns on.
■ When the compact spare tire is equipped (if equipped)
The vehicle height may become lower when driving with the compa ct spare
tire compared to when driving with standard tires.
■ If you have a flat front tire on a road covered with snow or ice (vehicles
with compact spare tire)
Install the compact spare tire on one of the rear wheels of the vehicle. Per-
form the following steps and fit tire chains to the front tires :
Replace a rear tire with the compact spare tire.
Replace the flat front tire with the tire removed from the rear of the vehicle.

WARNING
■When using the compact spare tire (if equipped)
● Remember that the spare tire provided is specifically designed for use with
your vehicle. Do not use your spare tire on another vehicle.
● Do not use more than one compact spare tire simultaneously.
● Replace the spare tire with a standard tire as soon as possible.
● Avoid sudden acceleration, abrupt steering, sudden braking and shifting
operations that cause sudden engine braking.
■ When the compact spare tire is attached (if equipped)
The vehicle speed may not be correctly detected, and the follow ing systems
may not operate correctly:
*: If equipped
■ Speed limit when using the compact spare tire (if equipped)
Do not drive at speeds in excess of 80 km/h (50 mph) when a com pact
spare tire is installed on the vehicle.
The compact spare tire is not designed for driving at high spee ds. Failure to
observe this precaution may lead to an accident causing death o r serious
injury.
■ After using the tools and jack
Before driving, make sure all the tools and jack are securely i n place in their
storage location to reduce the possibility of personal injury d uring a collision
or sudden braking.

When trouble arises
NOTICE
■Be careful when driving over bumps with the compact spare tire
installed on the vehicle. (if equipped)
The vehicle height may become lo wer when driving with the compact spare
tire, compared to when driving with standard tires. Be careful when driving
over uneven road surfaces.
■ Driving with tire chains and the compact spare tire (if equipped)
Do not fit tire chains to the compact spare tire.
Tire chains may damage the vehicle body and adversely affect dr iving per-
formance.
■ When replacing the tires
When removing or fitting the wheels, tires or the tire pressure warning valve
and transmitter, contact any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyo ta authorized
repairer, or any reliable repaire r as the tire pressure warning valve and
transmitter may be damaged if not handled correctly.
■ To avoid damage to the tire pressure warning valves and transmitters
When a tire is repaired with liquid sealants, the tire pressure warning valve
and transmitter may not operate properly. If a liquid sealant i s used, contact
any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, o r any reliable
repairer or other qualified service shop as soon as possible.
Make sure to replace the tire pressure warning valve and transm itter when

Fuel infor mation
■Use of ethanol blended gasoline in a gasoline engine
Toyota allows the use of ethanol blended gasoline where the eth anol content
is up to 10%. Make sure that the ethanol blended gasoline to be used has a
Research Octane Number that follows the above.
■ If your engine knocks
● Consult any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any
reliable repairer.
● You may occasionally notice light knocking for a short time while accelerat-
ing or driving uphill. This is normal and there is no need for concern.
When you find these types of fuel label at the gas station, use
only the fuel with one of the following labels.
EU area:
You must only use unleaded gasoline conforming to European
standard EN228.
Select unleaded gasoline with a Research Octane Number of 95
or higher for optimum engine performance.
Except EU area:
